Consumer Reports Magazine - Consumer reports

My sister in law ordered a subscription to this magazine. she passed in Sept. 2016 When we called, last November, to cancel her subscription, they refused to pay for, and automatically deducted 3 months, even though no one would receive or read it claiming that were supposedly already printed, (though how that's NEWS, I'll never figure out). I accidentally destroyed the check thinking it was junk mail. I have contacted them numerous times, at least 8 times now, asking for the refund. Here is is mid August, and I still have not received the refund due her estate. not businesslike, not fair, stealing from people. you should be ashamed.

Destroying a refund check is a big problem. I have gone through this from the other side, and it takes a long time. Half the fault, at least, is yours.

Swimming pools, etc. are frauds!

Just FYI, about Swimming Pools, etc. 1. They never acknowledged my order 2. A week after my card was billed, I still had not heard from them. When I called them, the woman on the phone was a complete ***. 3. Several days later, they finally sent an "order cancellation" email, stating that in 4 business days I would see the refund on my card. 4. After another week, I called to find out the status of my refund. I was told I would get a call back in 30 minutes after "investigation." 5. After 2 hours, I called back (not having received the call) and the same *** told me they were no longer accepting calls from me and hung up. I had to file a claim with Chase to get my money back. Am still waiting… they are complete jerks and rude to boot. buyer beware... I would like to see an investigation into these thieves. There are MANY reports online about exactly the same behavior with others, which may just be hearsay to you… here's a link to just a few examples… http://www.ripoffreport.com/outdoor-furniture-equipment/swimming-pools-etc/swimming-pools-etc-ripped-off-3m2d9.htm http://www.ripoffreport.com/Search/swimming-pools--etc.aspx Additionally, since we can't do anything about her being a total and complete ***, I would like to point out that below is the actual part I ordered (that text, by the way, is all I received in the way of receipt, and that only after calling and emailing for a solid week to get it). The next item is a clip from one of the emails, dated 3-4-11, that states that item cannot be ordered through their vendors (if they even have any vendors) and lastly, a link to the exact page on their website where they are still advertising that item. Order Number - 115406-* SKU - OPT-9297-10 Description - HT-2 SPASIDE CONTROL, WITH 10' CORD - HYDRO QUIP,INC. - 34-0190 "Unfortunately we are no longer able to receive the product that you ordered from our vendor. Your order for that product has been cancelled and you are being issued a refund. Please allow up to 4 business days for your bank to process the refund and for it to show on your statement. We apologize for the inconvenience." http://www.swimmingpoolsetc.com/sc/productsearch.cgi?storeid=*28a1016dac6e7248b96bd85a50a87a03144dc0ec9a11 Finally, on 2-25, a clip that says they will refund the money to my account within 4 business days… From: Swimming Pools Etc. Your order for that product has been cancelled and you are being issued a refund. Please allow up to 4 business days for your bank to process the refund and for it to show on your statement. We apologize for the inconvenience. And then yesterday's email which shows (at 11 days later) they still had not done so. From: Swimming Pools Etc. What can we do about this fraud and false advertising? I would like to see them shut down, at the very least. Better Business Bureau link is here... http://reno.bbb.org/consumers I filed a complaint, citing fraud and false advertising and they responded the next day! let's load up the BBB with complaints so they will investigate these people! I will help in any way I can. Most sincerely, Daisy
