Frigidaire - Bad induction stove

I bought and had an induction stovetop from Furniture Mart a couple of months ago. A light metal cup slipped from my hand as I was passing over the edge of the stove and it fell on the front edge and shattered the entire cooktop to pieces. I had to replace it and the. Ew one came with a protective moulding exactly where my cup fell. I feel this is a defect as the impact should not have caused that degree of damage. I wish to be reimbursed for the replacement and installation cost of $1158.00
