Anytime Fitness

I got laid off in July and had to move in with my parents out in a small town with no gym. In the contract I signed it stated that there were no cancelations in membership allowed unless I moved (which I qualified for) so I went in and gave them proof of my moving and was told that my membership was canceled and that auto payments had been stopped. Apparently they never sent in the paperwork to corporate, and lost all evidence of me canceling my membership because it has been seven months and they have continued withdrawing money from my account for the past 7 months ($257). I called corproate and they told me that there is nothing they can do since there is no proof that my membership should have been canceled, so not only will I not be refunded the money they took, but will continue to take money from the account for the next three years of my contract.

Maybe you people should read your agreements a bit better. As for being drawn on your account for the next 3 years....sounds to me like you lack follow through.

This has been going on for years now! Anytime Fitness and Snap Fitness both use a third party billing company to try and insulate them from negative publicity.

They consistently use this to their advantage to extract additional fees, dues and revenue from unsuspecting members. Between employee errors, lack of management oversight, corporate issues and the billing company involvement, it is almost guaranteed you will pay more than what you agreed to.

CHUCK RUNYON, CEO, how about stepping up and taking care of this? Oh, you're too busy counting your cash!

Great American Days - Great American Rip Off

I purchased a spa treatment through them for my birthday. On their website they claimed to have thousands of spas to choose from so I was really looking forward to being pampered and having a nice birthday. When I called in with my voucher I was told that in the entire city of Austin, they actually only had one spa in network. So not only did I not get to choose my spa but I didn't even get to choose the time of day of the appointment. I told them the day I was available and was told that they would call me back with an appointment time. Two weeks later the day of my appointment was approaching and I still hadn't heard back from them, so I called back to find out that this particular spa wasn't accepting new appointment for several months. I was then told I would get a call back once an alternative for me was found, which ended up being the Four Seasons hotel spa. I was then told they would email me the gift certificate for the spa in time for my appointment on the 17th of January. It is the 17th and I just got the gift certificate, and it is for the wrong spa. I now have an appointment I can't go to because my gift certificate is for some place called orange blossom spa. Since it is a national holiday today they are closed for the holiday and unable to fix this. I really wanted to like this service. And I was really patient working with them, but this whole experience has been a nightmare. I really just want a refund and to forget about all of this, but I don't see that happening.
