Amtrak - Lost Luggage

AMTRAK failed to check my luggage at Indiapolis IN station and at Chicago station. Learned that carry on is not a duffle bag but any luggage not checked. And you are responsible for getting your luggage on and off. I did not know this and it was not communicated to me. I was redcapped due to disability. BEAUTIFUL service. They found my luggage. I will pick it up today. Problem resolved.

Greyhound - Horrible Services

Greyhound Busline lost my luggage. I was scheduled to connect with AMTRAK in Indiana IN. Left Louisville KY via Greyhound at 12:05 AM. Arrived in IN at 2:00 AM. AMTRAK made mistake on my layover time (27 hours instead of 3 hours). They resolved the problem by sending me back home and bringing me back on tomorrow. I walk with a cane. Therefore the Greyhound agents were kind enough to assist me with my luggage. They put a yellow tag on my luggage and supposingly took it to my bus returning to Louisville. My luggage was not on my bus. I spoke with agents at Indiapolis bus station and it is not there. I believe they put it on the wrong bus. Perhaps they forgot to change my destination back to Louisville KY. The agents are rude and insensitive. The shocker is that, of all the agents I talked with, all lacked the knowledge and skill to tell me the next step to take. They are very unknowlegable and this is apparent. They could care less about your lost luggage or cancelled trips. They are insensitive. I suggest teaching all your agents GOOD customer skills and give them the tools they need to handle routine problems when they occur. Greyhound needs better people to represent them. America needs more buslines. They do have caring busdrivers. I have not met a discourteous driver. It was very sweet of the agents to help the handicap. However, I would suggest toting your own luggage if you can.

Amtrak - Lousy Online Service

I purchase a train ticket to travel to Houston, TX. I do not like purchasing online; howecer, since I could find a customer service number for them via websites I viewed, my only was purchasing ticket purchase online. December 18, 2018, I departed. Louisville, KY via Greyhound bus at 12:05 AM and arrived into Indianapolis, IN Greyhound/AMTRAK station at 2:00 AM. My travel had me arriving one day too early which would have me waiting about 27 hours for next train to Chicago. The agent was kind enough to try getting me on the train. He was successful getting me on 851 Hoosier to Chicago,IL but could not get me on the 21 to Longview, TX. So they sent me back to Louisville to leave out tonight so I can get the train I am scheduled for. Very nice of them. As a result of this online ticket booking, Greyhound lost my luggage. Not AMTRAK's fault. However, I believe if AMTRAK made it more accessible for one to contact a himan scheduling agent, this problem migjt have been avoided. My clothing and business documents are lost and no agent at Greyhound Indiapolis IN gives a hill of beans about it. I like traveling AMTRAK. I fear using them again. If AMTRAK train departs from Louisville KY again, I may use them. PLEASE make contacting human scheduling agents accessible. The human brain would not have one's layover tine to be 27 hours. Thanks for trying.
