Last spring 2021, we contracted with them for a pool. When the pool arrived, it was dumped on our front lawn, because the crane operator could not bring it down between our house and trees, etc. As we watched the crane operator tear up our lawn and the road in front of our lawn, in a futile attempt, Terry Harr had one comment: "If I had seen this layout, I would have never sold you a pool" It was his wife, a couple months earlier that sold us the pool! Later, Terry lied and said they weren't wrong to hire the crane. Yet 3 weeks later, when it was finally moved, they brought more people power and a small front loader and moved it to the hole they had dug. There it sat, in *** of mud, for the next 4 months, as they ignored us with excuses, after having received over $60,000. By the end of October, we had enough lies, we disengaged them, and hired Custom Pool LLC out of Belleville, IL, who were life savers - completed the job, including all surrounding concrete work before winter weather. We'll never reclaim the money we lost, but at least we can warn others. Terry, his wife and daughter are the "team", and they act like they're trapped in a hopeless business. They are mean spirited and seem dysfunctional. After walking away with our money, they sent me an attorney's letter to sign, to agree that we would never speak negatively about them. I didn't sign it. I hope they survive by finding employment elsewhere.

Loss:
$30000
Cons:
  • Horrible customer relations and service and poor workmanship
  • Poor business practices

Preferred solution: The satisfaction of being a force for good so that no one else makes the mistake of hiring them. Out of the 60K we paid them, we did get a pool that by itself cost around $30,000.

User's recommendation: Run, do not walk, from any contract with Midwest Pool Bldrs and Stonecrafters
