Acer Recertified - Won't honor warranty

I received my monitor on July 24th 2018. Everything was fine until about the end of August...the picture went out. I unplugged the display port cable and plugged it back in. The picture came back. However on Oct. 12th the picture went out again and wouldn't come back until I used a HDMI instead. The Display port on monitor quit working again. I first sent an email on Oct. 12th and then called and spoke to a rep on Oct. 15th. I was concerned because the warranty expired on the 24th. Never heard from them until the 30th and they said they warranty was expired and I should take it somewhere to check on repairs. Horrible customer service and fradulent at best. Buyer beware. I bought this monitor through Rakuten and they seem to be trying to help but it's going nowhere.

Should've tried harder, or contacted higher up ebay or
