Do In June 2022 I purchased a Penn Prevail 2 fishing pole 7 foot Med.Heavy-.Fast. 20-40 pound braid.

The first time I used it it broke. I sent Penn a copy of the receipt and they replaced the pole. Again, first time out on my fishing club charter I caught about five 1.5 pound fluke and on about the sixth fish the pole broke in approx. the same spot as the other prevail 2.

I had to borrow a conventional boat pole to continue fishing which was too heavy for my bucktails. Again I contacted Penn. I asked that they send a return label to return the poles and evaluation. They said ok.

I asked for another pole being within the warranty timeframe. I was then told they were upgrading the pole to a Rampage 20-50 lb braid med.-heavy-fast. After I received it I realized needed to go up 3 reel sizes from what I have and use for this pole. Not what I want.

. After months of not hearing anything or receiving any return label I contacted Penn again. This time I was told that I never sent them a receipt, which I did and still have. Also, that it was past any warranty.

Now I'm stuck with 2 broken poles and a broom stick Rampage that I'll never use. I've asked that Penn's Quality Assurance Dept. contact me about the defective poles.

I don't have the time or patience to keep chasing after a company that sells defective fishing poles. I will never buy another Penn product and I have been a loyal Penn owner for over 40 years.

User's recommendation: Do not buy any future Penn products. They have no Quality Assurance and do not stand behind their products
