Came after me for prior damage to car
I picked up a rental in Denver Airport that had damage to the whole car, i.e., dents, scratches, front bumper about to fall off. It took 10 minutes to walk around the car and have the attendant take notes of all the damage.
I also took pics of everything to cover my butt. A month after I returned the car, their claims office emailed me requesting $1,800 worth of repairs to the damaged car. THANK GOD I TOOK PICTURES!!! I asked where the notes were from the attendant, they said they didn't have any notes.
I sent an email and attached all the pictures I took of the damaged car and waited for an apology letter and letting me know the claim was dropped. Three weeks later I call them back (took 1/2 hour to reach the right person), and they said the claim was dropped last month.
No email, no phone call, nothing! Payless needs some serious work on their processes, because right now, they don't seem to have any that work, not for the customer anyway.
Preferred solution: Free week rental and apology and explanation of what is being done, so this doesn't happen again to me or anyone else.
User's recommendation: TAKE PICTURES OF ANY DAMAGE TO THE CAR BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE LOT AND KEEP THEM! This could save you $ thousands! Don't rely on the person taking notes to actually do anything with it.

Preferred solution: I want my $450 returned. I already paid $600 on 7/17/22 at the counter. It took over an hour to get my car. This is ridiculous. $1000 for a rental.
