Illegal service

Reserved a car, they didn't have any when we arrived. Got a car 1 hour and 30 min after reservation time.

When returning car I was told to park the car and leave the key inside and receipt would be emailed. After 2 and a half hours I called to get my receipt. I was told I had to give them the miles. I had unlimited miles.

Than found out they had already issued the car out without closing out my contract. So car was on two contracts at the same time. They said it would take 5-7 days to resolve this.

After 5 different calls finally got someone in customer service to finally help. Still had to fight to get the gas charge taken off the bill.

We put a car rental in through American Airlines using mileage.

I had to put my wifes name on the car rental due to a work emergency. I cannot attend the trip.

On Monday 4, I called in requesting to add my wifes name on the car rental to be the primary driver.

I received an email confirming her name has been added on the car rental, and my name has been removed.

My wife gets to the destination car rental spot at Payless.

The agent told her her name has not been added to the car rental.

I spent more than two hours on the phone with American Airlines to get the situation corrected.

Unfortunately, American Airlines told me they cannot do nothing for me to get the name corrected.

I have bought with American Airlines several hours of my time to see what I can do to get a car for my family and kids.

I called this phone number: (800) 245-****

A gentleman named Alex told me the reservation was not corrected and processed correctly.

Alex said he made the changes on his end and said the car rental is good to go.

Unfortunately, my wife got tired avoiding more than two hours for results with kids. She went ahead and rent a car out of our own money.

What Im needing from you guys is to report to American Airlines so we can get our money back in mileage back due to this incident was poorly not set up correctly by my phone call on Monday to request to put my wifes name on the car rental.

Filing a claim

Good morning,

I'm emailing to file a claim, involving an accident that occurred while I was operating the rental vehicle. This accident occurred yesterday, 02/06/2024 at approx.

01:00 in the afternoon. I was rear ended by a 2004 Ford Ranger pickup truck, travelling at about 25 mph. Because of the minor severity of the accident, no police report was filed. I've already gotten into contact with the driver's insurance and filed a claim.

I've attempted multiple times to get into contact with the claims department via telephone, and have been left waiting on hold for several hours, just for no one to receive my call.

I'd like to hear back ASAP so that I may take care of this swiftly. Please respond with haste.

We booked a car with rentalcars. We did a complete insurance with them, but in Podgorica airport, at payless office, we had to pay 248 euro more for a scratch under the front part of the car, without any explanation. Then, they never answered us to explain and solve the problem. Very bad experience.

Payless Car Rental - Rented an unsafe vehicle

Rented a car in Colorado heading to Utah,on the way there noticed a bulging tire. Called customer service only to be told that I did not purchase roadside assistance but did have insurance on the vehicle.

Was never told there was a difference in the two products how to have my AAA change the tire. After they change the tire, I was left with a small donut and was told that I needed to drive over 300 miles in order to swap out the vehicle because there was no other locations closer I told him that it was unsafe to drive on a donut that far and offer to purchase a tire to replace it. They told me that was not acceptable they would not reimburse me.

Finally after 22 phone calls to customer service I was told a vehicle would be dropped off to me at 1 oclock in the morning. I was also told I would not be charge for it since there was no other alternative to have the situation fixed lo and behold I received a bill for over $1500 for roadside assistance , which I am now in the process of fighting

San Diego Airport. Payless car rental. Scammers and rude. Tried to tell me I had to pay 34.00 per day insurance. It was required in California. Horrible customer service. I cancelled my reservation and went next door to dollar rental. I got a cheaper rate. Did not have any such thing as mandatory insurance and great customer service. Avoid Payless. Horrible company that will rip you off

Issue with rental

Good evening,

I'm writing you because last night we picked up our rental vehicle (Chevy suburban @ ALB airport) and got pulled over 3 hours later because the plate has no tag stickers. This was a very upsetting experience for my family and I and after about 30 min he finally let us go.

The officer informed us that the registration had been expired since May & not to be surprised if we get pulled over again. I showed him the rental agreement print out paper so he was lenient with us knowing the issue was not my fault.

Needless to say for the next 4 days while I'm driving this vehicle (until we return it Monday morning) I'm going to be nervous about getting pulled over & quite frankly ruins the whole (what should be very enjoyable) experience of driving a nice Chevy suburban.

We are 4 hours from Albuquerque in Durango, CO visiting family and have no intentions of spending any extra time returning to exchange this vehicle on such a limited time visit.

This should not happen and would like to request a refund or credit for this rental. I did not pay $700+ for a 5 day rental when 3 hours in I'm getting pulled over and on edge the rest of my vacation when behind the wheel.

Debit cart

Hello, I am in America as a tourist, I came from seattle to denver a few days ago, but I did not know that I had to buy a round trip ticket to rent a car at the airport location, so I did not buy a return ticket. What I wanted to ask you was that I had to buy my return ticket before coming to denver in order to rent a car with the debit card? Can I rent a car if I buy a return ticket for 1 month later now? Because I read your company's contract and according to what it says there, only the return ticket is enough.

They took $250 off my credit card and didnt Put all of it back! The only reason I think they did it maybe because the vehicle had explanation Points on it and was saying that it needed service and something was wrong with it and I called them and It was the next morning and I was out of town and I had to stop whatever I was doing and driving hours away and bring the car back and exchange vehicle and the vehicle was on 3/4 of a tank and it got like that by bringing it back to them and that wasnt my fault and it wasnt on a full tank because of them and I told them and they said ok and they mustve took the different out of my deposit and Im PISSED!

The other vehicle was on full when I brought it back! I WANT My deposit to be $250!

I was charged a $250 cleaning fee two weeks after returning this rental car to Dallas/Fort Worth. This car was returned in excellent condition.

Yes, there were specks of sand and dirt on the ALL BLACK interior, but that is all and it could easily be vacuumed up. Some of the sand and dirt was already present when I rented the vehicle. Either way, this doesn't meet anyone's standard for excessive dirtiness, even their own.

Payless Policy

"Charges for cleaning vehicles that are returned in such poor condition that the vehicle must be sent out for detailing, will be charged in proportion to the level of cleaning that is needed. This includes, but is not limited to, vehicles returned with food stains on the seats, dog (or animal) hair that cannot be removed through normal vacuuming of the car, excessive odor, smoke odor, and cigarette burns."

It does not state sand/dirt on the floorboard that can be easily vacuumed up.

Also, some of the dirt on the floorboard was already in the car when I picked it up. Don't you always vacuum your cars before renting them to customers? I hope that is true... Also, I was willing to let this slide before, but the vehicle was in very poor condition.

In comparison to other rentals I have driven, this one had high miles, had paint chipping on the exterior on all sided, carpet was shabby and pulling away from the sides of the floor board, and the car wasn't cleaned well.

In fact, I had to stop at a gas station shortly after pickup to clean the inside and outside of the windshield.

My theory - This rental car was over 50k miles and needed to be detailed before selling it, so they wanted me to pay for it. Whether that is true or not, I will never know, but I feel that I have been dealt with in a very dishonest manor and the Dallas/Fort Worth location tried to take advantage of me to boost their bottom line.

I would like to apologize to the customer service rep. I know she doesnt make the rules, but the rules are stupid. You can email me this for a review but you cant email my extended rental agreement. That doesnt make any sense. I explained to her I needed that for my records.

I rented a car in Puerto Rico. My initial bill was a $157 after everything was said and done, the final charges was $498 so I put a complaint into the corporate office waited 20 minutes. The woman got on the phone after about 10 minutes. She dropped the call. I never heard back from the corporate office..
