Paul C Buff Is a Rip Off Buyer Be Aware
Purchased some electronics and camera accessories through this company website on Feb 29Th 2012, the company ignored my order and refused to ship it to my business address, they asked me to wire them money. I refused and they suggested I replace the order and use my home address which I did on March 1st 2012. When I inquired about this last order, I was told that they will not ship to me and did not provide any info trying to force me to wire them money. Payment was made via American Express but they refused to complete my order for no valid reason beside the fact that they want me to wire them money which I do not feel comfortable doing. This company seems to be questionable and I need your assistance with my purchase and having this company comply with Fair trade act. These actions are biased and unethical. On both orders, the company simply accepted my order and they were so much of coward that they did not have the guts to email or call with a reason for refusing to complete my order. I am a legitimate business but was treated as an online criminal because of my business being a shipping center in Lowell MA. Guilty until proven innocent, I even placed the second order with my home address but they refused to ship, no explanations given besides forcing me to wire them the money which I will not do. Thus company could be a scam, buyer be aware.

Alien Bees broke & Paul C Buff won't help
I purchased Alien Bee lights and other lighting equipment from Paul C Buff for several THOUSAND dollars based on their good reputation. I only used the lights a few times in 3 years and stored them very carefully in good conditions. Then I discovered the "indestructible" (as they are advertised) housings that encase the lights cracked and the lights leaked. When I contacted the company I was told the lights should be fired monthly to prevent leakage. This is NOT in their literature. They had no explanation regarding why the housings cracked. I've never asked any vendor to repair something for free that was past warranty but I did this time because it made no sense the lights would simply break after being taken care of and having been used so little. I wanted them to at least examine the lights at no charge to determine what caused the damage. If I somehow caused it then I could pay for repairs. Company insisted I pay up front for them to examine lights and then pay for all repair costs regardless of why lights failed. I decided that after spending thousands with them it would be *** to give them any more money so I ended up getting rid of the lights. Buh-bye investment. I've since learned from other customers that the company has, on occasion, repaired out of warranty equipment at no charge which makes me wonder if they do so because of extreme equipment failures like mine.

You are clearly a reseller looking to diss punt their product. This will harm their business model.
Paul C. Buff is one if the last remaining wholesaler a that only sell direct and they have the best customer service I have ever dealt with.
They did a great job not shipping you. :x
I have dealt with Paul Buff for over 25 years and bought over 15 strobe heads. Never had a problem and they always went out of there way to fix repairs for free even when it was out of warranty.
They have always ship with in a couple of days.
Saying they are a scam is bogus. Nothing you say adds up.
How could you have had a monetary loss if they canceled your order? Also American Express is excellent about getting your money back in the event that someone accepts payment and then does not deliver product, so I find it unlikely that your $1535 loss is true which makes me questions your other complaints.
