Service scam

The company called. Acted like they didn’t understand my complaint.

And didn’t apologize, just wanted me to remove the complaint. $199 for a service they swindled me into.

Shame on them. I’d never go back and as a frequent buyer of my former favorite brand, I won’t buy another Lexus because the parent company allows this scam to continue unabated.

Received a text while getting routine service. During service we Discovered you need a 4 wheel alignment. Fearing an issue I OKed. They discovered nothing. Their bulletin called for an alignment at the mileage indicated. Problem was I had purchased new tires a month before and had the 4 wheel alignment at that time. Their message was not truthful. Saying discovered alarmed me to OK it. If they had been honest and said the alignment is called for at your mileage I would have explained why it was not needed

A guy called explaining he was leaving soon , but wanted to hear my story. He did not do anything to resolve the problem.

He would not acknowledge my issue.

I quoted right from my phone the text I received that caused me to OK the charge. They scammed me by saying...

Took in my $57,000 Lexus 450 H hybrid SUV for service. It was purchased as a certified used car with a good free service plan included. I took it in and discussed the service expected, basically an oil change, fluid top offs and inspections. Sitting in the waiting rook I received a text on my phone, During the inspection it was discovered that your car needs a 4 wheel alignment. Worried I sent an OK return text, hoping theyd resolve a problem. When I picked up the car and after paying $189, I learned there was no inspection they just wanted to do what the mileage called for in the manual. If they had talked with name I would have declined because I had purchased 4 new tire and had the alignment done 10 days earlier.

Parkplace Lexus Grapevine Service - where I go to feel *** and cheated.

I have bought 3 cars there. I have had trouble with the service department every frigging time. Overcharging, too frequent service, talking down to customers. This '13 RX350 requires maintenance every 5000 miles,100 bucks to rotate tires. This is an opportunity for the "service advisor" to locate other "broken" items. As an aside, I have had 4 G35/G37 sport cars. I know what Luxury Service Looks like. From 2010-forward, the RX350 uses synthetic oil. When I asked why a SUV uses synthetic, the "service advisor" told me, "It is a synthetic engine." That is BS. On a previous service I went in to have two wheel rims redone, which meant two tires had to come off the car. Mysteriously, when I got the car back, the wheels were out of alignment. It took three days to straighten out that situation. On a previous car, there was an alignment problem where parts had to be replaced. After a week, 1200 dollars was required to get the car back. Nope, none of the parts were under warranty, "they said". I equate Parkplace Lexus service to Firestone and Sear service centers where lying to a customer, gouging the customer, talking down to the customer was Standard Practice.

Update. Service manager called me and bent over double trying to regain my trust.

Has promised me will do that and train his service advisors to be more careful in how things are stated. This is the first time I felt compelled to write a complaint, because I was so bent out of shape.

He was just as compelled to try to change my mind. Via his solid promise, I promise to clean the slate.
