Staples - Rebates are a Joke

Last December I ordered a paper shredder that had a $35 rebate (SKU 1417714). Confirmation order listed SKU 1417717 and that was item that was shipped.
After submitting the paperwork three times and numerous calls to the useless customer service dept they have still refused the rebate stating I did not purchase the correct item. They also say that they don't have the promo # in their system even though I still have copies of all the original paperwork.
If I wouldn't have given the shredder away as a present I would have returned the POS for a refund. I will NEVER buy or even visit a Staples again!

Staples - Horrible return policy and manager obfuscation

On June 30, 2016 I purchased one of the Staples brand of shredders. On July 12, it broke and the shredding gears actually went flying.
On July 19 I took it in for a return. Clerk said it was past the very tiny 14 day return policy on electronic items. Manager would not help, would not even give me a customer support contact. Horrible experience, lousy products.
She absolutely refused to help. When asked for her supervisor (she is an assistant manager) she claimed she did not have a boss and would not give me any information for anyone to contact. She had only three words, "leave the store".
Beware buying anything at Staples, especially their own brand. I subsequently went to a competitor, Best Buy, and was told that the product I had purchased was an inferior brand that they had quit carrying.
