Real Business or Scam?
Is this a real business or just a scam?I ordered a phone from Papa's Bargains almost 3 months ago and never received it.I sent multiple emails, opened a request on their website, called them, and opened a PayPal claim, The response from Papa's Bargains....none!What happened? Did Papa die and have no survivors left to run his business?
If so, who is paying the phone bill because I reached a voicemail?At this point, I am not convinced the Papa's Bargains is even an actual business. Apparently, all they are capable of doing is taking money under the false pretense that they sell goods.
Bad Business
I ordered an under counter Emerson radio/cd player March 19th and I received an invoice of the order immediately in my email. PayPal sent payment in full on March 20th.
There was a notation on the invoice that I would receive notification when the order was shipping. I never received any notification. I called the toll free number and got an answering machine saying they were either closed or with customers and to leave a message but that an email would get a quicker response. I left a message and also emailed them.
I waited and never received an answer. It's now April 5th, 2013, I have called them almost a dozen times and emailed them 3 times....no response.
I have since noticed on their site that it says "do not return an item in person to this address all returns have to be mailed." I thought that was odd so I googled their address and ........ IT SHOWS THE MIDDLE OF A PARKING LOT!
I believe these people are totally bogus and I have opened a dispute with PayPal to get my money returned.
I'm so glad I didn't use my check debit card to pay for this order and went through PayPal! I have to wonder how much money they would have withdrawn from my checking if I had used my Visa Check Card.

Papa's Bargains (papasbargains.com) -- sold me a Casio AQ51-7E with a different watch face than pictured. Their return policy requires contact within 48 hours of delivery.
An answering maching answers phone calls. I e-mailed it twice within 48 hours, but it has not responded, so I have filed a BBB complaint.

I think these guys are crooks. We ordered ta magnet screen back in March and they charged us for it through paypal but they never shipped the item.
They have repeatedly ignored all attempts to contact them.
We left multiple messages and an email to them was returned as undeliverable. We are frustrated and angry and want our money back.
I have placed over 7 orders with this site now and I have always received my items in a timely manner and at a great price.
The other day, I placed an order and one of the items I received did not work properly. I called a couple of times and did not get a reply, then I sent email, just as their voicemail stated.
Guess what? They replied within a couple of minutes and we resolved the issue in a fair manner. I got a call back from Manny and we took care of the issue quickly. He explained that they only have a couple of people doing phone support.
My advice, email them. They are there.
Overall, their phone support could use some improvement, but I will continue to shop with them. They are always willing to help and their prices are awesome.

I have ordered a car stereo from Papa's Bargains- sent in the order form, a money order and 2 and a half weeks later it arrived- very pleased with the price and service. One of the few mail order companies that accepts money orders.
I'd say be patient with your order- it's worth the wait. It sure beats going to a big box store, or compromising credit card information online.
I never had a need to call customer service- I just had to be patient. I'll be ordering a GPS unit from them soon.
Beware of these people. They gave me a bogus address to return a piece of junk car stereo that didn't work.
The mailman just returned it to me so now I'm out over $12 more dollars. Shady, shady business.
You have more protection ordering from eBay. Big-time beware!!!
I read the reviews on here and I was a little nervous to order from papa's bargains. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
The item arrived quickly and and in great shape when it arrived. Completely happy. A little slow to provide tracking info but no problems overall.
I would recommend their site / store. I would shop there again, their prices are great!
Update: Just received my phone today, only 3 days after I ordered it. It was in new condition, and works perfectly. Who knows, maybe I got lucky.
After reading these comments I was a bit nervous, having already ordered a telephone from them & had not received a tracking number. I called a few times and got voicemail too, but on the third call someone answered.
He was very friendly, gave me the tracking number, and emailed it to me as well, which I received in seconds. I'll post an update when I receive the phone.
i ordered a legacy amp from them and they are supposed to provide a tracking number and give a second confirmation in 1-3 days
its 6 days later i have yet to hear from them ive called twice and sent four emails
Have the #1 worst customer service i have ever dealt with in my life....papas bargains.com is a dissapointment do not order from them
:( i ordered an In-dash DVD player from papasbargains.com and it has been over 2 weeks and i still have not received the item or a tracking number and all i can get is an answering machine, and no one will return my calls!
