- - Arrived 4:18 am; waited in pain until 5:40 am.
- - Only one doctor on duty; wristband delayed and patient left in wheelchair.
I was transported to Palmetto park by ambulance around 4:18 am this morning. I was placed in a wheelchair and pushed to the lobby and left.
I was in so much pain I'm crying and moaning. Finally, I told the receptionist I was going to pass out from pain. The receptionist took me to triage where I asked for pain medicine and was told their doctor had to do that and there was only one doctor on duty. I was then pushed to a room where the curtain was pulled and the door closed.
I lay there until 5:40 am when the doctor came in felt my stomach asked minimal questions and left again. No apologies or explanations on why my wait was so long. A nurse came in to do a EKG, which I allowed but my pain had eased up due to pain medicine I took before deciding to seek medical help. Then another nurse came in said she was going to scan my wrist band, but I asked her what wrist band.
They never put one on my arm but drew blood not knowing if I was the correct patient or not. She left the room came back and 2 hours later put a wrist band on me. At this point I knew this was not the hospital for me. I told them l was leaving, they put me in a wheel chair, rolled me out front and left me to wait on my ride.
I'm understanding to COVID-19 and truly appreciative for all the efforts and sacrifices our medical workers have made during this time. But, with the cost of medical care the patient should at least be serviced and not charged to be ignored and treated with disrespect.
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Patients should be seen based on their reason for being there. Patients that have extreme pain transported by ambulance should take preference. The staff needs better people skills. I would not recommend using this facility to anyone until CODIV-19 is in control and someone can accompany you in the back.
Go to Memorial Hospital or Mount Sinai
- - We had to bring our own wheelchair to the ER; no one helped.
- - Long bed wait with no updates; we weren't told she was terminal, and she died.
My sister spent 4 months in and out of
Palmetto Hospital. I had never seen such
bad service.
To start with the Emergency
Room, I had to get my own wheelchair
to bring her in. No one got up to help.
Lots of other things. Like waiting for a bed
that never came. An hour before shift change and an hour after, no one was
available.
Changing her sheets in the
morning and leaving her lying flat in bed,
then bringing breakfast and putting it in
a corner, lying flat she couldnt eat. Nobody
told us that her condition was terminal
until the evening that she passed away.
The doctors knew and they did not told us
and prepares us. All we gat from them
She is looking better. There is at least
100 items that I could list that was extremely
bad.
She finally past away and we were not
there when it happened about 11:30 p.m.
at night. When we arrived her face was not
cover with the sheet.
No respect. On a
scale of 1 to 10 Palmetto Hospital is a 0
Preferred solution: There is no solution. My sister past away.
Very rude nurse in the lobby
- - Suffered kidney stone pain and avoided ER for cost.
- - Wife urged care at hospital.
- - Nurse was rude and ordered me to pull up for an echo.
On last Sunday midnight 07/28/2019, I had severe pain because of a kidney stone that I couldn't tolerate. I didn't want to go to the emergency room because of the bill that i could get afterward.
However, my wife insisted to go as she saw screaming from the pain. We got to the Baptist hospital and my wife started providing my info while i was continuing screaming and my hand squeezing my kidney. After a half-hour, a very rude nurse approached and told me to follow her alone to check heart and blood pressure. She waived by her hand to lay on the bed and she told me to pull my shirt up to do the echo and TO MOURN SILENTLY.
I kept my pain while she started to puke me instead of talking to me to move from one side to the other side or to put my shirt down or do any other things she wanted. I didn't know how to deal with such a rude nurse doesn't understand the values of her work.
- Nurses at the room emergency were nice
- That rude nurse at the lobby

Verified Reviewer |Wait Time for a Lacerated Finger
- - Triage nurse said the finger wound needs sutures.
- - We have waited 4 hours for treatment.
- - Now he is being told that suturing will not be done.
My husband gashed his finger open on a hedge trimmer and clearly needs sutures. Even the triage nurse agreed that he needs them.
We have been waiting 4 hours so far and suturing has to be done within a certain time period.
Absolutely ridiculous! And now he is being seen and told that it's not going to be sutured.
