Palm Beach Yacht Center

My family rented a boat yesterday at Palm Beach Yacht Center. What started out as a fun family day on the water turned into a nightmare. There were 6 adults and a baby on board. We are very responsible people and we did not go fast during the whole 4-hour trip, which was proven by the fact that our gas mileage was very low, only around $30 for the entire trip. After we returned the boat, they claimed we damaged the propeller blade because we were going "too fast". This company paints their blades with a black paint which is very cheap and dissolves quickly in the salt ocean water. Of course the paint was dissolved after a 4-hour ride in the hot salty water. They claimed that we damaged the blade due to color coming off and charged us extra $125 for having to have to "fix" the blade. On the way out, we ran into 2 other customers who had the same experience as us. One of the customers even told us that the specific manager we had a problem with who was working that day is a *** and he had the same experience with him before. He told us that when he saw he was on duty yesterday, he immediately left and went to another company to rent. The customer also told us that since we are non-members that is most likely the reason why this happened. The company rents cheap to attract customers but then tries to make extra money by cheating, claiming that you damaged the boat. If we were members, they would have not dared to do that to us. DO NOT RENT BOATS FROM THIS COMPANY!!! They will completely ruin your day of fun!

While we are sorry to hear about this experience. The Yacht Center only rents slips and space to the boat rental company and has nothing else to do with their business.
