I called Pacific East Aquaculture, talked to a very nice guy. This IS NOT the company that sells Walmart Fish Tanks.

He unfortunately keeps getting calls and complaints from Walmart customers. He has tried to contact Walmart and that is a dead end.

I ask for forgiveness by bad mouthing this company.... Lorie Rassouli

I have bought two of your tanks a 30 gallon and a 20 gallon. I like the low profile hood with the white led lights.

HOWEVER, the 5 small LED light string that attaches to the hood of the 20 gallon tank are OUT . I have spent no less than 2 days looking for replacements. WHERE CAN I FIND THESE LIGHTS? I don't need the hood only the lights.

Since these lights are like GOLD never to be found. I would also like replace lights for my 30 gallon tank.

YES I will pay for them. dawndenovi@***.com

As we have said in numerous reviews that people have placed on our company in ERROR - WE DO NOT MAKE THESE TANKS, WE DO NOT SELL THESE TANKS TO WALMART. WE HAVE NO IDEA WHO DOES AND IT SEEMS THAT NEITHER DOES WALMART BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR YEARS TRYING TO FIND OUT FROM THEM WHO THE MANUFACTURERER IS SO WE CAN TELL THE CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE COMPLAINTS AND COME TO US IN ERROR JUST BECAUSE THE WORD "AQUACULTURE" IS IN OUR NAME!

Pacific East Aquaculture is a state licensed coral aquaculture facility. WE SELL NOTHING TO WALMART.

  • First shipment was two days late and items were dead.
  • Pacific East Aquaculture replaced them well.
  • Since then, orders have been good and they're easy.

Had a problem with the first shipment coming in 2 days late due to shipper. All dead.

Pacific East aquaculture did an excellent job of replacing the items. Have ordered from them since and been very happy every time. Easy to work with and very responsive both on the phone and through emails. They have a wide selection of beautiful corals and fish.

I live about 3 hours away and I look forward to visiting their facility.

Lol This website requires that you go into detail of a 100 words or more.

I don't need a 100 words to say what I had to say. And it still won't let me post yet.

  • Lost almost $300; seahorse arrived dead and guarantee denied.
  • Two seahorses were shipped in one bag; one died, the other died soon after.

I have loss almost $300 My seahorse arrived death & guarantee was denied I wont recommend buying from this place to anyone else. Found mixed reviews online but personally, i wont use them again.

From tow that I purchased, 1 arrived death, the other was skinny, wont eat or swim properly and then it was death the morning after. They packed 2 seahorses in the same bag. if one gets sick and dies, the other one will dye too and that is exactly what happened.

I have purchased seahorses from other places and see how other vendors package much better and in terms and insulation. No wonder why seahorses form other facilities arrived alive while the ones from pacificeast arrive death.

I have used Pacific East for some time, I have not had a shipment from them as I live close enough that I order online and pick it up. I can honestly say that I do not purchase livestock from anywhere else now.

I am 37 and have been in the hobby since I was 13, I started my first saltwater tank about 20 years ago and had issues with livestock for years and struggled to find out what I was doing wrong when my parameters where spot on. I have ordered from some of the more popular online vendors and local lfs's and knew that I had to fight to keep livestock healthy enough to win the battle of oodinium or worse, keep them eating and hope they become well enough to recover. I can tell you as far as fish and clams, you cannot go wrong with Pacific East, never had an issue. The fish, they are always eating well and disease free.

One of the few companies that I think actually does quarantine their fish before selling. Their fish prices may be a little higher than others but honestly, so worth it. I would rather pay $100 for an eating vibrant fish than $75 for one that I know I am going to have to treat for something and hope it eats. The coral has been spot on, always just a little bigger than what they say on the website.

It's a top notch facility, I have been there numerous times.

I am sorry you had a bad experience, I believe it was an anomaly and would be very surprised if this occurs again. I have learned through years of experience that your success in this hobby depends immensely on the quality of what you put into your tank and Pacific East Aquaculture is where you find quality.

Please Be careful they don't guarantee anything at all even if its obviously a mistake on there part i got a maxima from them with a ripped foot it died within a few days of the transition and they told me my tank must of been the problem when i had 6 other maxima 2 squamosa 3 crocea and a derasa all thriving for years still all alive today! Although there all in a friends tank now.

Pacific east has Some awesome livestock but horrible customer service they had hundreds of clams and should've replaced mine they are very expensive too if i ran there buisness id take care of my customers! If they had made it right id have been a life long customer.

  • I ordered orange spiny gorgonian, dayglow zoas, and green birds nest; they opened quickly.
  • Prices vary by frag size; check size before ordering.

I ordered 3 items from Pacific East Aquaculture. A orange spiny gorgonian, dayglow zoas and a green birds nest.

First, everything arrived in great shape and within minutes of placing them in my display they were opening up and happy. Now some specifics, these corals very well could have been the ones pictured on the website. thats how closely they resembled what i saw online. While on their website i noticed the same type of coral but with different prices listed.

this is due to the size of the frag... so dont think that cause you ordered the $10 frag that its the same as the $50 frag, check the size before you order. One more thing i would like to touch on, Don't let these other sourpusses deter you trying these guys out.

they are more than likely competitors.

Having placed two online orders (fully satisfied and no DOA) and stopping in their shop on the way back from OC to pick up a few frags this last weekend I have to say that this is a very good business. While I was in their facility Dr. Mac showed me around personally and helped me pick out my first Acro frags.

I buy from here all the time and am always happy with my corlals and the customer service.

Yes, they have very nice clams and I bought several and will buy again.

Pacific East Aquaculture Dr. Photoshop !!!

AI Highlights
  • Ordered $200+ in frags; box and frags were small.
  • Colors were browner than online pics.
  • Dipping revealed acro-eating flatworms; pitched frags; won't be back.

So I saw all the amazing looking corals on the website. Placed an order for 200 dollars+ worth of frags.

I was super excited until they came in. Not only was the box small but so were the frags. The colors looked waaaay browned out compared to the pics online. I called and his son ansered.

He basically told me it is what it is. He did say that the acan photos were taken completely under blue led's and no "white" light. Now it's all starting to make sence... I dipped the corals and saw something in the bottom.

Are you freaking kidding me! Acro eating flatworms too. I pitched the acro frags. Not going to even chance that one.

I got 10k worth of acros in my tank. Thanks Dr.

Photoshop. I'll never be back again.

Placed an order and have to say this place is one of the best. Healthy coral frags not fresh cut as they were all growing onto the plugs.

colors a little different than the site but that is expected as the lighting differences. The best packing job I have ever seen and I order a lot online. I would have to say the best part which surprised the heck out of me was the customer service. Never ever in the 15 years of ordering livestock online has the company called me the day of delivery and ask how my shipment was and if I was happy with everything.

Will definitely be ordering again. Found a great place.

Guest

I must say, what Dr. Mac calls a frag, and what many other online vendors call a frag, or two very different things.

His frags are tiny, and often don't display the color shown in photos online.

Most of them die off quickly, likely because he uses unskilled interns to frag corals, so he doesn't have to pay them. Live Aquaria is way way better.

Guest

I have orderd from here many many times over the years and always happy. I think a lot of these comments are from competitors or something is not legit. Great service and corals every time without fail, this is a great company.

Guest

I bought some stuff from this company and was so dissappointed with what came in. I just found this after the fact. I WILL NEVER buy from dr mac again.

Guest

Go to liveaquaria.com I think thats the site. I got crazy good corals from them.

RBTA included in that order and it was happy as could be.

Along with packing was awesome! it took my no joke i'd say 15min to unwrap everything!

Guest

I got an order from Dr. Mac as part of a group buy about a year ago.

I got 2 acros and 1 porites. The acros never colored up and died. That pretty much ended any future mailorder livestock purchases I might have made.

Not only to Dr. Mac but to anyone.

I hope your acros come around for you.

Guest

Last Saturday I received the 6 SPS frags that I ordered from Pacific East Aquaculture. I ordered a tricolor tenius, a Gomezi Acro, Bright blue Mille and 3 Bali aquacultured frags. I also received 1 free frag. All of the blue frags are white with subtle tints of blue. The tenius looks ok although extremely small in size, and one of the other bali frags (millepora) looks ok. Also I was supposed to get a turquoise acro with red tips....nothing I got looks even remotely like this ! It has been a few days and still the frags look really white....nothing like the colorful frags on the vendor's site (or like the frags at MACNA!).

I called the vendor who told me that the color loss is due to stress of shipping....but overnight from MD to MA? I have ordered frags from Oregon that did not fade to white, so I am not sure what the problem is here. I am hoping that the frags will color up in the future but this is my first experience with this vendor and I am not sure what to expect. I know Dr. Mac has a great reputation and that his colonies at MACNA were incredible (two of the reasons I ordered from him).

Has anyone else ordered from Dr Mac? If so can you please post your experience, good or bad here ?

Has anyone else received colorless white corals from anywhere else that colored up after the initial shock of transport and environment changes?

Guest

I have had no experiences with Dr. Mac.

However, from what I hear, it's too bad that he moved from nearly all-tank raised to nearly all wild-collected.

The phrase 'sold-out for the cash' comes to mind. Sorry if that seems harsh.

You have no clue, guess you have never been there or you could not possibly say this, liar!

Guest

Hi all, I thought I should share my recent experience with Dr. Mac and pacific east.

I got into a dispute about the delivery of a certain package, in which they forgot to give me a total the day before it arrived.Basically , I had ordered a package from last week and I had clearly stated that I was going to pay with a money order. The following day his secretary called my house and gave us a tracking number put no price. I was not home at the moment so my dad was unaware that I planned to pay with a money order. On the day of the delivery the package showed up but I had no total price. I tried paying the Fedex guy with , cash, check and credit card, but he said he could only take a money order.

On monday, I received a call from them and they told me that they wanted their $107.00 for their DEAD coral. Dr mac told me that I was responsible for the package, even though I had No way to pay for it. I of course tried to explain to him that his secretary forgot to tell my dad the total price for the package. Dr.

mac was very Rude and obnoctious , constantly telling me that what I was saying was bs. I did not expect someone as "NICE" as Dr.

Mac to act or respond the way he did on this issue. So here we are now.

Guest

Its about time someone called this business out for their practises. The frags they advertise are just hacked up teeny tiny pieces.

Chop shop all the way. Its a shame.

99% of the pieces are fresh cut and probably going to die. NO THANKS

Guest

I use to work for this family run business. It would amaze you what goes on there.

They are all about stealing your money trust me. The son takes colonies that they buy for 15 dollars and chops them up into 50 pieces and then they sell them for 30 dollars each there. They lure people in with the online photos so you will drive to their shop. Its hours from anywhere.

They expect that youll buy something if you drove even if its tiny and really not worth it. The tanks have numerous flatworm issues as well. The claim that they have collectors on islands is completely false as well. They buy from wholesalers just like everyone else does.

The corals are pumped with super blue led so they look good when photographed, but it browns them out.

So as soon as you put them under normal lighting they look like ***. This is just another out in the middle of nowhere shop trying to be a big league guy.

Guest

You are a liar! I have been to this store over a hundred times over the last 8 years and know the family.

Dr. Mac and his wife own and run the store and have about 6 other employees and none of them are his sons, I asked and they don't work there! Your entire review is BS, I have been there and know how this place operates. This is the problem with this site, competitors can write and *** and its not true.

Dr. Mac and Pacific East are great!

Guest

Guess I should have googled these clowns before placing an order. The *** they send me has me speechless.

They're lack of customer support and lack of refund to me is the last time I'm going to deal with them. Id rather burn my money then do another order.

Guest

The frags there are so tiny and waaaay overpriced. Customer service is the worst.

All his photos are shot under LEd's which gives fake colors. Dont trust this snake oil salesguy!

Guest

Im so tired of online vendors like this ripping off hard working citizens like myself. Next time DR MAC send me a real frag.

Guest

This place sent me corals that were so tiny I needed a microscope to see them. Well' almost.

Pathetic for what they charged me. The colors looked nothing like what they did on the website/
