Minor complaint

Hello, I have just returned from a 14 day cruise on the Britannia, which I must say I enjoyed very much. Whilst fully appreciating that she is on her way to a refit/refurbishment, we did have issues with our the air conditioner in the cabin. It was not very efficient and we either froze or boiled. I chose not to make an issue of this as we were off the ship and out and about, but I have returned home with an ear, and upper respiratory infection which has required medical intervention and antibiotics. I am aware that many other passengers on the same cruise had similar or worse happen to them, and am just wishing to bring this to your attention as I cannot find any information about your Legionella policy. Non compliance of contract from P & O

Hi. I am booked to sail on Iona on 6th April. I booked direct with yourselves. At the time of booking I requested car parking as part of my reservation. I have been unable to book this as the website kept saying Voucher not accepted. I found out after paying final balance that an error had been made and car parking had not been added as requested. After a few emails I was informed that this would be rectified. I now find that this hasnt been done. I was told be an agent that there is no longer any availability. I am disabled with a Blue Badge and now find myself in a very disadvantaged position. As a very regular cruiser with Royal Caribbean I have never encountered difficulty so didnt expect an error to be made on my reservation. This is a family trip to mark my retirement and I feel that its already been marred and gives me little confidence in P & O before Ive even sailed. I have the emails between myself and the Customer Service Agent should you require them. I would have booked the Saver Fare hs I known that I wouldnt been given the benefits I had paid for. Please respond as soon as possible as this cruise is only 5 weeks away. Regards Gillian Perry

I am a very big fan of cruises and this cruise is my number 5. I just love it.

Unfortunately, P&O definitely made me rethink about it. I am at day 2 and I cant be more unhappy. The main restaurant l, that supposedly to have food all the time, closes and its 2pm and there is NO food at all, only if you PAY.. There is no filtered coffee in the main restaurant, only machines which don't work properly,, it's slow, so many queues and the coffee is horrible.

Not enough staff to clean up the tables. The ship is old, dirty, and they decided to wash the carpet of the rooms while there are guests on the cruise, of course they give you an option to say no but, isn't that obvious that this maintenance should be done while there are no guests? A lot of things that is usually free in other cruises is charged here. Even if you spend a good amount of money in the premium drinking package,you only can drink 14 drinks (water bottle included) .

The internet slow. The cabins work only with the thermostat on, and it's noisy. They also decided to rebuild half part of the main restaurant THE PANTRY the one that should have food the whole day and it doesn't. So, its a mess and more crowded.

It is so sad and frustrating. i m so upset that it cannot express in words how distressing this situation is. I should be having the best relaxing days, definitely P&O is like no place in the earth. A good place, definitely is not.

And unfortunately, I have more 7 days to go. I will do everything in my power to let everyone knows how bad this cruise is..

Accessibility complaint

I am reaching out to you because of discriminatory actions by your P & O accessibility team.

18 months ago we booked a semi adapted cabin on the Iona for 20.4.24. In May 2023 we went to my travel agent and updated our details to take a mobility scooter for my husband with us.

My travel agent filled in the necessary form and sent it to accessibility team, they received an acknowledgement saying someone would be in touch if the were any issues.

Nine months later i have been advised that we cannot take the scooter due the size! This form was sent to accessibility four times during last nine months!!! Is it normal practice to take this long to advise customers two months before they go away that they cannot take mobility aids? Is nine months the normal decision time for accessibility to decide on a customers fate?

As such your accessibility is not accepting any blame and has advised that I either sort out another mobility scooter or pay £270 pp to upgrade to a fully adapted cabin??? Please note they were no fully adapted cabins available at the time of booking!!!

The reasons that accessibility has given me for this debacle is unacceptable. My husband is already vulnerable due to his stroke and this has exacerbated the situation.

Do you consider the actions of your accessibility team reasonable?

A full investigation is required. Why should I have to pay to correct the actions of the accessibility team?

After being double charged on cruise was told I had to email customer support who said they usually respond in 14 days but dont mail again or it may take longer. In the meantime they have my money and I have creditors.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. P and O customer services contacted me to apologise for the poor on board service received and offered a full refund on the Welcome Aboard package and a 50% refund on the poor WiFi package received

I purchased the welcome aboard package for £70.00 and the internet package for £144.00 for my cruise on Aurora leaving Southampton on 15th November. The Welcome aboard package was meant to have been a bouquet of flowers, a bottle of champagne and box of chocolates in my room on our arrival. I purchased this as a surprise for my wife so was extremely disappointed to find; 1) No flowers! 2) Bottle of Champagne but not on ice! 3) No Champagne glasses! I went to reception and complained and about 30minutes later received; 1) a cheap bunch of flowers which looked like they were on their last legs still with the rubber band around the stems stuck into a glass jar style vase! These lasted 4 days by which time they started to smell unpleasant! 2) a bucket of ice which we couldn't put the bottle of champagne in, not a champagne ice bucket. 3) NO glasses so had to use the tumblers provided in the room. I am extremely disappointed with this and certainly wont be using this service again when I go on a P & O cruise. The internet package was a total waste of money as we were mostly unable to get internet for more than a couple of hours at a time if at all. I would estimate that the most use my wife had out of it was 15 hours in the whole tour while on board! regards Clive Berry

Parking charge notice

My daughter recently visited her friend who works for P&O onboard Iona, that was in port (Southampton) on Saturday 17th February. She parked (my car) in the Ocean Terminal Short stay car park, and was told that since her friend had a pass for her, she wouldn't have to pay, and that all she had to do was to record her car registration on the tablet at the desk. So that is what she did. I've now received a parking ticket. I've spoken with cruise and passenger services, and they told me I have to talk to P&O. So here I am. Why did I get a parking ticket? How to I resolve it?

Liars and dishonest.worst cruiseline company in existence !

If its not had enough when your cruise with P&O Cruises turns out to be a complete nightmare, with infestations, a crashed ship and dubious drinks 'mistakenly' chargesd n added to your bill, you then get their supposed Senior Customer Services who, like the one we've got with ours, Kyra Hay, just feed you lie after lie and get caught out !! Dishonest and Corrupt ! Do like I've done and record EVERY phone call and email as, like me when you're heading down the ABTA complaint and looking at a small claims case, it'll be well worth it ! P&O - STICK TO SIMPLE BOOZE CRUISE CROSSINGS AS THATS WHERE YOU BELONG !

I have tried for four days on the phone half of the time talking to a robot to get my flight booking inbound resolved but to no avail. I was given the incorrect email address for the complaints procedure. Everybody just wants to pass the issue on to someone else.

I have paid £2710 twice instead of once! I paid on day of leaving the ship Arvia £2710 for the services on board for two weeks. That was last Friday. Today, Tuesday a second £2710 has been taken from my bank account! So wrong and unacceptable. Not necessary. Have to wait 14 days to receive my refund! Shocking! Stephen Redmond

I hope I’m wrong, but I think you’ll have to wait a lot longer than 14 days……and you’ll have to fight for it. We finished our cruise on Dec 9th 2023 and we’re still waiting/fighting for a refund, even though P&O accept that a refund is due! Good luck.

Need confirmation about sports equipment

As a licensed archery coach, it is important for me to maintain my shooting capability and to assist I use a bow trainer device. I often need to obtain permission to take it on board aircraft and cruise ships, particularly if I am going to be away from shooting for an extended period. Undertaking a 3 month cruise, I needed to get permission from P&O, but there is no published way to access the port/ship security personnel! It is much the same with any request for assistance outside the norm. Something needs to be done to enable out of the norm requests to be made!
