AVOID! WARNING! No Verification of Freelance Talent

Outsource Com - AVOID! WARNING! No Verification of Freelance Talent
Outsource Com - AVOID! WARNING! No Verification of Freelance Talent - Image 2

I was six weeks in on a project with a "experienced" developer. My project involved the creation of a complex web app that could not vary from the supplied flow and detailed slides. Here is where it went wrong as the freelancer thought instead of following laid out direction. The freelancer thought I was going to be his debugger. Talk about not doing his job. In addition, the freelancer over proclaimed his skills. When I reached out to Vanessa at Outsource regarding the problems, I was contacted by Norma (Manager). Norma understood and agreed to the refund, but Vanessa thought she was someone. I abhor using fine French, but it happened. Then when I go to post again as I am six weeks further behind, I get my third attempt at posting denied with Vanessa stating:

"At this time we are unable to approve your new job posting. We do our best to match you with a freelancer for your project and we spent a lot of time assisting you and tried to make sure you were satisfied with your freelancer."

Oh boo hoo is what this company is about. This company is living in winter wonderland thinking that just because someone selects that it's going to be perfect fit. OMG, nothing is perfect. Always remember that when you don't receive what you are paying for, you contact your credit card company and dispute. Moreover, there is no dispute that Outsource is not what it claims.

Paying for nothing

Outsource claims I signed a contract in December 2015 to pay them $44.95 a month for a year for their online freelance service. (I can't imagine that I knowingly agreed to this.

I suspect I thought it was a one-time fee.) After six months with plenty of bids on all kinds of writing and editing jobs, I have had no assignments, endless additional charges, false promises about clients reading my bids, and no honest response to my questions and concerns. Every consumer review I have checked is full of these complaints. Outsource.com is a scam site.

I refuse to pay for it any longer. What recourse do people have to these online hoaxes?

Outsource.com is a scam, a thief, a scammer!

Never use Outsource.com please! In the name of God!...

I recently hired a freelancer to develop for me a grammar checker at Outsource.com. When the freelancer failed to meet my expectations, I sent him multiple messages that he refused to reply. I disputed the process only to end up not receiving any replies from the company. Now, I was forced to contact all the government website for help, and Ripoff Report where I have filed my report. You can check my Google docs attachment on this folder.

Please, please, please in the name of God! Never use Outsource.com. There policy does not support any refunds. They use Tipalti system to acquire the funds, and the banks cannot help you because your money is held by this third party organization. Once they acquire your money, you'll never acquire it back again!

You can also get more evidence from here: http://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/www.outsource.com. I am not ruining the name of that company.

Yes, they paid back my money. Thanks.

They turned out to be a good service after all. It took some time to hear from them but the woman there was very kind and understanding.

Outsorce.com is a scam

I signed up with them and purchased 20 credits a month plan. The only option is to pay upfront for 6 months without any guarantee.

After a few bids I realized that it is a scam. Project descriptions are unclear, too short and look way too similar to each other. Budgets are extremely low. There is no way to find out more information about the project prior to the bid in order to give it a correct estimate.

I asked for a return, but they refused.

They only offer 6 additional months. After I signed up I found out that my coworker had similar negative experience with them.

IT IS A SCAM.

A terrible catch

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I've been using other sites for freelancing leads with limited success. When I approached Outsource.com, I thought I might have some luck here. A very neat site, claiming to have thousands of clients waiting for you to join. I was wrong.

After paying a 6-month, no refund membership of over $100, I found that no leads were to be had. Within two weeks, I only received ONE semi-qualifying lead that did not materialize.

I reached out to their support team, who told me they offered no refunds. Instead, they will give you another 6 months for free, if you have no jobs during the first paid 6 months. What does this mean? Their cashflow is so tight, that they need to stick freelancers with a non-refundable 6-month membership. Further, this shows that they cannot stand by their service stongly enough to offer any sort of refund or immediate assistance.

I paid over $100 for a dud...

Scam alert

I signed up for 6 months, sent out numerous quotes and received no responses.

I just now noticed that they have billed me again for 6 more months without my permission. No where on the site does it say they will keep billing you every 6 months. I have asked for a refund and haven't received a response yet.

I'm not even sure the clients are real. The budgets are way too low and no one even responds to questions. I wonder if anyone has reported them to the Better Business Bureau or other authorities. I will be sure to warn all my followers and groups on Facebook to stay away from Outsource.

Another company scamming honest workers out of their money!!! Please pass this to everyone on your Facebook account. FREELANCERS BEWARE!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I get over 50 emails a week. The same jobs written a different way.

It was a total waste of my time.

Liars, Liars...everything they say comes out of a script. I received an email with the exact same words a customers service representative told me over the phone. They just want to take your money and run, they DO NOT help you get jobs, as they claim. Scam Artists!

They get an F for ratings in my book.

They took over $130 from me and they do not want to refund my money. When I signed up, they had a money back guarantee. It is a lie, they told me that they will give me 6 months of free service when my subscription expires in 6 months and they told me to call back after 5 months so that they will not bill my card again.

This is just a legalized form of robbing you when you are just trying to work. Consumer Protection Bureau, that is where we all need to complain.

And will continue to post every few days for 6 months. The $133 dollars they took from me is gonna cost them over 100 times the amount.

Everyone here should do the same.

Until they are out of business!!

Must pay and keep paying with little hope of real work

I have been receiving multiple freelance job listings from Outsource.com in my ZipRecruiter e-mail. The site asks for a lengthy registration process, and after that won't connect you with any jobs unless you pay them first. Then you get to "bid" a job with no assurance there's a real job there or that you will be seriously considered.

If you "bid" more jobs, you have to pay more money.

It costs about 3 "credits" to contact each purported employer, and you have to pay $16.99 to $26.99 MONTHLY (billed semi-annually, so $102 to $162 up front) for 20-40 credits monthly. I have seen reviews by others who have asked for their money back but not received it.
