Verified Reviewer |The salesman lied and nobody explained the car to me
I tested a Chevrolet bolt EUV at Ourishmang Chevrolet Marlong Heights and went away to another dealership. The salesman, Ernest, kept calling and texting me to return and purchase the car I had tested.
He kept saying he would give me a good deal. I returned inspired by the offer, only to find out there was no deal. Ernest gave me the same price he had quoted before. He explained that this price included a $1500 electric installation and that he would take care of requesting it.
I found out later that the electric installation is offered free from General Motors and that Ernest had lied to me. The dealership delivered the car but did not explain how to charge it or operate the touchscreen; they did not explain the maintenance schedule, they did not take care of the electric installation, and they did not explain they had applied for the tags.
They just gave me the car and pointed out how to turn on the touchscreen. Purchasing a vehicle from Ourishman Chevrolet at Marlon Heights was a terrible experience.

Total lack of customer service
Ordered all wx mats for my 2013 equinox. The guy sold me the mats, i got home and they were the wrong mats.
I called, a nice lady answered and we talked about it. She ordered the right mats and said they'd be in in a couple of days. Got a call later that week, mats were in. I took box with the old mats to Ourisman in Alexandria parts department.
Older man at parts counter asked "what do you want?"...i told him i had an exchange, wrong mats for the right ones. He asked my name, gave it, he grumpily located my new mats. He then took the wrong ones and asked to see the receipt. Of course, it was at home.
He said, well, can't help you without the receipt...i asked for the cashier, who told me he'd do whatever the 1st guy told him. I asked for the parts mgr, he wasn't available. So, apparently, they were computerized enough to take my money when i purchased the vehicle, but nor enough to help me with this issue.
I said out loud how much i hated ourisman, and turned to leave. As i turned, old guy smirked and said "dont forget your new mats." I will never go there again.
Complete Lack of Quality Assurance
I recently moved to Bowie, MD from Woodbridge, VA. I brought my Corvette in to Ourisman Chevrolet for an engine problem in early January. The car started running "rough" and displayed a message stating that the engine was on "Reduced power." I immediately took it to Ourisman, the nearest dealer to my home, expecting the same level of service that I had come to expect from several years of having my Corvettes worked on at Lindsay Chevrolet in Woodbridge. After spending nearly $1,100 the problem was supposedly "fixed." In less than two weeks the exact same problem appeared. This time it cost over $1,200 to fix the same problem that should have been fixed the first time. I was charged TWICE for the problem Ourisman claimed they had fixed two weeks prior.
Additionally, during this second visit, they kept my car for two weeks waiting on a part to fix a separate, minor problem. After waiting two weeks, I needed my car for a trip I was taking out of town. I retrieved my car and paid for the repair that the dealership was able to accomplish in the two weeks. The service representative promised me a call when the part for the second repair came arrived. I'm still waiting for that call.
As I got in my car, I could see where the carpet had been pulled back on the passenger side and the wiring under the carpet was exposed as well as an unidentified part was left in my passenger seat. When I asked where the part came from, no one could identify it.
I appreciate the professionalism of the service department but the quality assurance of the work and the lack of follow-up leaves much to be desired and destroys any goodwill that might be built up from the interaction with the customer service representatives. I have owned a Camaro and three Corvettes; If this is the level of service that I can expect from this dealership, I will forego their service in favor of another dealership and will have to consider this aggravation when deciding on my next vehicle purchase.
I am hoping that Lindsay Chevrolet is the example for how Chevrolet dealerships are run and that what I have seen from Ourisman is the exception.
Not the best place to take your car.
Not the best place to take your car.
They try but no attention to little details.
I recently had them do repairs on my 07 HHR and the car was returned to me a mess... I took it back as they forgot to put on the GM logo on the door and my running board was not aligned properly. The interior of the car was extremely dirty, I had to spend an hour with wipes cleaning all the dirt and dust from all the panels. They left a stain on my rear headliner.
And did not put the rubber grommet around the hook that hold the seat back latch, that is still missing. The new quarter panel they installed on the car has a dent in it (from the inside out). I nipple dent. There are runs in the paint some of which they did take care of.
And the car rattles and makes body noises now. Oh well. I already advised State Farm and Travelers Insurance, but I doubt they will do anything. It is so incovenient to keep taking the car back to Ourisman.
THOSE OUT THERE...
STAY AWAY, if you want good service go someplace else...
