Sold engagement ring out from under us.

My husband and I put a loving wedding set in layaway for our 10th anniverary on March 19. 2018 this year. We had been paying on the ring and was getting them out on March 18. I went to make the last payment and the manger told me they sold the engagement. And they could not get another one because it was retired. They told me we didn't make any payments since Jan I told them I had all my receipts at home and i would be back. When I went back with my receipts the lady told me the company wanted it back. They go through so many employees all the time. I will never go back to this store again because even with my receipts nobody put it in the books that i was paying on them. They did't know what to say after they looked at my receipts and found out i was right. You should of seen them trying to fine me a wedding set. But I didn't want another one because the one i had chosen was the wow one and my heart was broken. Because it took me so long to fine that one weeding set. i told then my 10th anniversary only happens. So my husband and I did have a nice anniversary. But just have to look for a new set. my point is be very carefull when you go to this store. Thank you.

Osterman's Lies

I bought an expenssive watch at Osterman's Jewelers at the Castleton Square Mall in Indianapolis, IN. At the time of purchase I bought a lifetime free battery replacement warranty and was told as long as I owned the watch I would get a free battery replacement. I need a new battery for the watch and took it to the store. They had me call their consumer services department. They say I must pay $70 for a service fee. They say the battery replacement is "free," but since they have to send it out I have to pay the service fee--some free battery replacement. Of course, this was never mentioned at the time of purchase. Osterman's deliberately misrepresents their "lifetime free battery replacement."

Thet should only have to send it out if it needs to be repressurized to keep it waterproof. If you don't want that then there's no reason for them to send it out.

Stones switched

I took my ring in to Osterman Jewelers to be sized and have rhodium coating redone and received a ring back with my two amethyst stones being replaced with two mis-matched peridot stones. I told them my ring never had any peridot stones and I want my amethyst put back into my ring the way it was when I brought it in. I am still waiting on my ring to come back in again. What was weird is, it was two weeks late coming back in then what they told me it would be and I started to worry that something was wrong. Little did I know that Kay jewelers is a sister store to Osterman Jewelers.

Happens all the time. These stores send the jewelry to another firm to do the work and that is where the switch happened.

It is always a good idea to take a series of photos with your digital camera, in close-up views, etc.

of anything you leave with a jeweler for situations like yours. Good luck.

Nothing but trouble with my levian, topaz and chocolate diamonds

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I purchased for myself in 2013. It is a beautiful blue topaz with diamonds around the stone as well as chocolate diamonds on both sides of it going half way down the ring. It's stunning. First, the topaz chipped. Then the small chocolate diamonds started falling out. I spent a fortune (to me) on this ring and although from a distance, its beautiful, up close it looks like dime store. Also, the topaz was sparkling when I bought it but now looks very cloudy. I am embarrassed of it and afraid to tell my husband. I just want to put it up and never look at this piece of junk again. DON'T BUY LEVIAN

Ostermans stole my ring

on 12/1/12, I went to the mall, and stopped at ostermans jewelers in toledo, to buy some christmas gifts, While i was shopping the clerk asked if i wanted her to clean my rings, i said yes, I handed her my seven rings, 5 minutes later, she handed me back 8, 2 of them were not mine, and my pink sapphire that my husband bought me for my anniversary was not there, being the honest person I am, i called her over, and gave her the 2 that were not mine, and told her my sapphire was missing, they looked everywhere, obviously they gave my ring to someone else, The local store admitted fault, The manager offered me store credit, not acceptable, only Rogers and Hollond carry my ring, I was told i had to call corporate, and they are entirely blase about the whole affair, and also will only offer store credit..IF ostermans had my ring,,or even something very simular, i would accept that,,,but they Osterman,s stole my ring!!!!!!!, dont I only want to be made whole, thier policy for cleaning rings is negligent, They allowed another customer to take my ring, this is theft and entirely thier fault. I will never deal with them or any of thier sister stores again..I plan on filing a report with the BBB,, a police report,, and going to small claims..

this is the poster of "ostermans stole my ring" i cant remember my login info..anyway.

Signet Jewelry, is the parent store of them. i shot off a letter to public relations,,in both the US and UK, and thier ceo, told them i have people from all over i am telling my story too, got a phone call from a VERY apologetic, cs rep, who was fowarded the email i sent to the ceo of public relations, in the NY office.....she looked into what happened,, ...i told her how rude the cs person was from the akron office,,and how i didnt get heated till this women refused to make me whole,

was worth it going to the top,,, the new cs person who got a email from the ceo, of ostermans is cutting me a check for the full value to replace my ring....which i now have...i will never deal with ostermans or any of thier sister stores again tho

The people who work there don't know what they are doing

well last year my boyfriend put my engagement ring on layaway and went to pick it up for my birthday to purpose and it was the wrong ring then when we took it back they gave us a hard time and then charged us 700 more dollars oh that's not all i took it in for its inspection for the first time and they inspected it cleaned it said everything was great 2 months later the diamond fell out so took it back in and they said they wouldn't replace it i didn't bring it in for the inspection the girl who inspected it didn't enter it in to the computer so a lot of fighting with them and they have had my ring for 2 almost 3 months and still don't know whats going on with it.the people who work there are *** and don't know how to do there job.so i am having to pay the price for there mistakes. so what was supposed to be one of the most exciting times of my life has been nothing but a nightmare.
