My daughter was kicked and pushed

Hard to believe any real parent has rated Orlando Metro Gymnastics as a great facility to put your kid in. I wish I could rate this place in Alafaya Trail a -10. My daughter was pushed, kicked behind her knees and had her ponytail whacked by another girl today and Dawn and Brittany at the front desk responded with "they're just kids". It hit me like a ton of bricks to realize that this place doesn't care about the children's safety and has no anti-bullying policies. My husband and I talked with mom of the little girl who did the above mentioned things to my daughter and she had her daughter apologize. Fine, end of story for now I hope. But what if I wasn't there to see this happen? According to what Dawn told me the coaches would handle any such occurrences, but with a class of about 8 girls the coach isn't always looking. I am extremely concerned for the care entrusted to Dawn in ensuring a safe and anti-bullying culture since she claims to be the district manager. With all respect, I can say that when I spoke to Dawn about the issue with my daughter she handled it with utmost disrespect for our patronage, stating that we could leave and take our daughter out of gymnastics. I responded that that was not a solution and that the facility should take steps so that this doesn't happen and discourage it from happening in the first place. Completely shocked and seeing as though maybe she couldn't understand what was going on, I suggested she imagined it was her daughter being pushed and kicked...wouldn't she want the facility to do something or have a plan of how it will deal with it? She said it has happened to her before and "it's nothing, kids just play around". Can you believe this? I have proof of all she said, in case anyone wants it. Most people have heard of the 13 year old who committed suicide this past August and he even wrote a note in which he said his school didn't do anything to stop the other kids bullying. A kid should never feel like they are alone against a bully and we as adults have THE responsibility to protect them, to show them a solution other than taking their own life. Dawn and Brittany at Orlando Metro Gymnastics should seriously reconsider if they are the right people to be working with kids.

Poor treatment to the students !

My daughter went to Orlando Metro Gymnastics Center , the way they talk to the students is beyond human ! The owner , sorry piece of ***. Once he gets your money , " lots of it ", he is know to send the gymnast home if he is having a bad day or he gets mad if he thinks they are not giving their all ! My daughter at an ankle injury and it was swollen black and blue and he yelled at her for not giving a 110 % said she was a looser and said that she was wasting everybody's time ! So before you nay sayers say anything bad about my daughter she placed 1st in all meets that year and was the only girl from the team to make it to State team and on to the regionals ! So it's not like my girl did not preform. Yes she had a dr.s letter saying to rest but the gym said that she would just do conditioning. J has on many occasions has done this to alot of the girls. Big man yelling at a kid. I been down there to talk to him and he nowhere to be found. maybe if I was 4'

my daughter attends omg and yes the coaches are harsh, but its because they are passionate about the sport. and my daughter loves training there EVERYDAY!

on one of those days that she was a little down because she was yelled at, i offered her the option of going to a different gym and she did not want to. we love the gym and the coaches.

I agree fully. Their East Orlando location BLOWS.

They kick people out for no reason and let the troublemakers remain.

They run the place like *** and expect dunces to keep paying them loads of money.

Glad I took my kid out of that ghetto featuring subhuman pathetic 'coaches' and lower socioeconomic children.

Yes I agree ! My kid went there also and was treated like *** !

She would come home crying about how Some fat Guy was yelling and belittling everybody ! I guess those who can't teach ! Karma !

Karma ! I truly believe in Karma !

Gyms with tough coaches produce champions and kids who wish to do skills that can cause catastrophic injury need to give 110% at all times otherwise they should leave the gym. I've only ever seen the coaches come down on the lazy, poorly behaved, kids doing *** unsafe stuff. If you don't like Omg then feel free to move on to mediocrity where you belong.

Great comment Emily
