Organic Prairie Meats

Ordered $100 worth of meat from this company, sent by UPS. When UPS loaded the package on the truck for delivery, the UPS supervisor made the driver take it off the truck. I was outraged, since it began it's journey 01/15/18 and loaded 01/18/18. When I called Organic Prairie and asked them to cancel the order, as the meat, if delivered the next day, will probably be rancid by then. The "service representative " became argumentative with me, quoting company policy which says they DO NOT guarantee the product will arrive on time. She argued with me for yet another 5 minutes.

Organic Prairie Meat Review from Key Largo, Florida

Ordered 2 times with 3 day shipping and both times took 6 to 8 days. Spoiled meat and l was told both times they would try again. I will not receive my refund until l get my second order of spoiled meat and talk with them and once again open and verify it is bad. Then that to the dumpster. I would think l would have been offered 1 day shipping after 2 times but no! The person wanted me to try a third time with 3 day shipping. I get all my packages on time and both times they blamed UPS. Really bad customer service on not offering free next day shipping after 2 times failing on 3 day shipping! What a shame to treat customers this way!

Organic Prairie - Beware ordering online!

I just placed an order over $200 to get free shipping. The site said I qualified for free shipping! It gave me the option to add an additional address (so I did), not necessary however, but shipping was FREE so why not? Well, all over their site it says they charge $15.00 to update or modify any order (this includes cancelling your order). I got to the confirmation page where they stuck in SHIPPING CHARGE for each location. I called customer service explaining the mistake, I would have NEVER chosen that option to ship to an additional location if I new I was going to go from FREE shipping to paying the shipping fee twice! They said, sorry for you, but it's our policy, pay $15 to modify your $30 shipping fee. I chose to just pay $15.00 and not do business with such a shady company. From what I'm reading on the web about their business practices, I'm glad I did.

um if you had read the info BEFORE changing your order you'd not be in the spot you are in. some people just do NOT want to take responsibility for their inability to read the fine print and blame the company.

HORRIBLE Products, Dishonest company

I bought Organic Prairie assortment through Costco.com and received the package with products that are ONE YEAR OLD. I called the company and instead of trying to replace my order with somewhat fresh meat, they insisted that I should be fine eating this 12-month old meat. I couldn't believe it! The product was also NOT from the US farms, it came from another company in Australia even though their website indicates that their products come from Wisconsin. At the end, I ended up spending $130 and threw the meat into the garbage. Not only that I wouldn't buy their products ever again, but I would advise anyone thinking about purchasing their products to STAY AWAY from this company. Their mission statement is a complete lie and they are extremely unprofessional.

Organic Prairie not Wisconsin fed, not fresh

Updated by user Mar 18, 2012

Went to a Costco store and got a refund, even though I ordered online.

FDA says 4 months is as long as you should go on frozen meat.

Organic Prairie says they routinely sell stuff 9 months to 2 years old. (a FB entry)

Original review Feb 16, 2012
Received 8 lbs of grassfed ground beef from Organic Prairie through Costco. OP says all of its meat is from organic small farms/ranches in Wisconsin. That is not true as the beef they sent me was a product of Australia. I guess the FTC made them labe their product, but they did not let anyone know in its description on their website, www.organicprairie.com. Also, I just received in on Feb 15, but it was packed on 10/24/2011. 3.5 months old!!!!! I complained to customer service, and they admitted it was from Australia, and their is no notice on the website. They also told me that the other beef is grain finished for the last 90 days. That ruins the fat profile of the beef to that of the usual stuff you can find at the grocery store.
