Lies.

5 years ago I bought a new Air conditioner. Yesterday I find out I bought a 3 year old unit and I was told it was new.

To fix the unit would cost me $3800. My neighbor wanted to have her unit check out but I told her not to contact you.

After 4 phone calls to Orangutan and being promised that a supervisor would call me back. I never got any calls back.

My 5th I got a hold of a supervisor who sent out a tech to go over what the last tech did at my house.

The new tech "Joe" came to my house and found NOTHING wrong with either unit. Im glad Joe found nothing wrong, but this should of been the first guy they sent out to me instead of a a salesman who is trying to make commissions.

Be aware that if you buy a air conditioner from Home Depot you will have Orangutan Home Services doing your install and warranty work!!

Stay away!!! They will sell you an expensive contract and then will not honor it. Only interested in selling you more stuff.

Do not trust this company!!! I bought a 12 year all parts and labor contract for a top of the line Trane, and EVERY year I have a check up, I get a list of new add ons and work that needs to be done. I have to explain that I have a 12 year warranty that is a cadillac policy. (covers everything) The tech calls them and says "Your right, you have a 12 year all parts and labor contract"

Yesterday, I had my summer check up yesterday and guess what - They said I need 2000.00 of work. I explained AGAIN about my contract and now they don't know anything about it. This time 2 guys showed up and NEVER cleaned the coil, didn't clean the filter, but did sit in the truck for a long time and told us we need to spend 2000.00 and did not put anything in writing because they said their computer was down?

I have a contract with Orangutan and Im so disgusted with them, its ridiculous. Ive been with them for years and was satisfied, but they came out this past Dec.

and told me my heat pump needed replacing. Because of our previous relationship, I thought I could trust them. Well, needless to say, theyve been a real let down. Ive had them out five times in the past 2 1/2 monthsfour times in the past three weeks.

My heat pump was kicking on heat instead of cooling and their techs all said it was the thermostat, but I had a brand-new Nest theyd installed in Dec. with the heat pump. Anyway, they told me a lot of gobbledygook about it and reset it and it happened again. Then again, so they pulled out the thermostat and put in a Honeywell, swearing that that would fix the problem.

Since the Honeywell came in, theyve been out twice more and its still kicking on and blowing hot air any darn time it pleases. Im absolutely disgusted with Orangutan and would only refer my worst enemies to them.

Prejudice, *** and Rude techs

Had Orangutan come check AC recently and two tech showed up at my house. One of them was obviously training and the other was his trainer.

The trainee seemed very nice and was very courteous, but the trainer was extremely rude. Before even looking at my air handler or my condenser (yes, i'm not completely HVAC ignorant), the trainer guy immediately started selling me parts. I told him that he needed to look at my unit first and that there's no way he could determine what needed to happen without looking at it. He rolled his eyes and looked over at this trainee and nodded at him to go look outside at the condenser.

The trainee came in saying it looked fine. So they climbed into my attic to look at the air handler. I could hear the trainer yelling obscenities at the trainee and then berating me and my elderly grandma up and down. The guy came down and said I needed a new air handler.

I"m not ***, I know i just need the the coil cleaned and possibly the drain pan cleaned out. I said, "I disagree" and asked them to leave because i had had it. The trainer said, "Look ma'am, I'll sell you this other part (under the table) and that should fix it." And I said, "Heck no. please leave." Moral of the story: don't trust Oragutan.

Don't trust any AC company that works off of commission.

This trainer should be fired. The poor trainee didn't know what to do.
