Open English Open English Misleading and dishonest experience. On August 14, 2025, I signed up for Open English because they promised that with daily classes for one year, I could become bilingual.
During the sales call, they painted the platform as revolutionary, far superior to other options, and said that many people were achieving great results. However, after making the payment, another advisor called to assess my level and told me I needed private classes at an additional cost something that was never mentioned before I paid. When I declined, the advisor was rude and hung up on me. The very next day (August 15), I requested to cancel because the platform was very basic and did not deliver what was promised.
Honestly, it is very similar to a free app like Duolingo, nothing personalized or advanced. They told me I could not cancel because I hadnt tried it long enough. Instead, they offered me 10 private classes per month at no extra cost to prevent me from cancelling. I accepted on August 20, still within the 7-day legal trial period, but as of September 1, none of the private classes had been activated, despite multiple calls, promises to activate them in 24 hours, then 48 hours, then 72 hours and nothing.
Today, when I called again to cancel, they told me I cannot cancel, that I have a contract, and there is nothing they can do. They offered something they never delivered, just to prevent me from exercising my legal right to cancel within the trial period. They made me lose my 7-day trial with false promises. This is manipulation and commercial fraud.
I am filing formal complaints with the FTC, Better Business Bureau (BBB), and my bank because I will not stay silent or let others fall into the same trap. DO NOT recommend Open English. They do not deliver what they promise, manipulate clients to prevent cancellations, offer services they never provide, and their customer service is exhausting, cold, and dishonest. A truly disappointing experience.

Quiero cancelar mi plan
He llamado tres veces para. Cancelar mi curso de inglés último ningún asesor lo hace ninguno en las tres llamadas que hice me ayudó pero si me tuvieron 20 min en la line quiero cancelar mi curso de inglés es mi derecho no quiero que me descuenten de mi tarjeta

On June 12 I called to get English classes for my wife and her son. They said the was a promotion 2 for 1.
Well that was not true because after I paid they transferred me to someone else and said had to pay more for my wife. Well now Im furious and demandied my money back.
Hector supervisor said i would have in 1 week well never received and today July 9 you took another $99 . I want all my money back

Complaint and refund
I was misled when purchasing a plan for my wife and son with a 2 for 1 deal and that was not true because they wanted to pay additional monthly fee for my wife. I then said cancel everything and refund my money.
Spoke to supervisor Hector and said i would get my refund in 1 week.
Well did not receive and then took another $99 today. I want all my money back asap
