Verified ReviewerTo inform the authorities concerning these tactics
- - OneDigital is accused of call spoofing to invade privacy nationwide.
- - They allegedly obtained Medicare numbers illegally and make 20+ daily calls.
The dirty little secret is that OneDigital misuses call number spoofing to invade potential customer's privacy all over the country. Having illegally obtained phone #'s of Medicare recipients, they plague individuals with 20 or more calls DAILY! to sell them services they don't need.
User's recommendation: run, don't walk, from this company
Increased rates
- - Customer service was poor overall, except for a CA rep.
- - No phone number on site; rates rose fivefold; premium details inconsistent.
Horrible customer service except for a gal in CA. First, there is not a phone number on their website and it is very difficult to get ahold of anyone.
Second, rates increased 5 times what we were paying due to an antiquated software system or so I was told.
Thirdly, I was given mixed messages as to what my actual premium was until the end of the month which only gave me a few days to find another insurance carrier. I actually made phone calls to see if this was an real company.
User's recommendation: I would not recommend at all.
Constant Spam Calls for Medicare which is Illegal
- - Spammed calls spoof numbers as Medicare Benefits and transfer you to overseas reps, use a fake name like John Hendrick, and continue after reporting.
I was constantly getting spammed calls that spoofed local telephone numbers claiming to be a company called "Medicare Benefits". A robot voice asked about if I had medicare A and B.
I work in the industry and if you say yes, it transfers you over to a live person who is obviously not from the US. It isn't the fact that the person speaks English with a foreign accent as I know that exists here and even my own family members speak another language. It is the obvious fake name (John Hendrick) and asking me if I like "American music", which is not something you ask if you are from the US.
Let me first point out that cold calling for medicare is illegal. There are guidelines that you must follow which you can find on the CMS website.
This company, OneDigital gets around that loophole by having some other company do all the shady spam calls for them and have them do the screening before they transfer you over to OneDigital. I tried to get info from the spam calls (name of the company, asking them to provide me with their website URL. etc), they disconnect the call. I was finally able to get past their screening where they then transferred me to a licensed sales agent, but the line was busy.
Next few days, I am getting a lot of calls from a Chicago number.
When I am finally able to answer the call, the person states they are a licensed sales agent for OneDigital. After I finally get the info of the company so I can report it to medicare compliance, the agent argues that they aren't cold calling me and tries to state that I signed up stating I was interested.
I explained this wasn't the case at all and stated I was getting constant spam calls for medicare and that the company then transferred me over when I stated I had parts A and B.
After this company had my number, I then for 4 more calls from the same company in the same day. Even though I asked them to remove me from the list, the overseas company they use to get their medicare leads are still spam calling me.
I did report this company to medicare compliance on the CMS site and I can only hope something it done about the way this company does business because this is as shady as it gets.
- Too many to list
Preferred solution: For them to never call me again and to stop using illegal methods of getting clients that go against the CMS medicare guidelines.
