On The Move Movers Moving Services Review from Quincy, Massachusetts

AI Highlights
  • - Plan: two trips for furniture/boxes, 3–4 hours, about $500.
  • - Two crew members complained; avoid On the Move in Sioux Falls—billed $850.

My family moved from a 1700 square foot home to a 2600. A supervisor bid the job.

Said it would take two trips: one for furniture and one for boxes. It would only take three or four hours to complete. Our bill would be around $500. We were okay with that plan.

Then, the crew showed up. I thought two of them were going to *** their pants complaining about how much furniture and how many boxes we had. They tried conniving my wife and I separately to leave a large couch behind. They had trouble maneuvering easy pieces of furniture through tight spaces.

They whined incessantly. The two with wet panties kept blame shifting anything that went wrong onto the new guy. The new guy was the only one we liked. I should've tipped him for putting up with the two *** he was stuck working with all day.

They worked slowly. They lost their attitudes frequently. They took smoke breaks. They took a two hour lunch.

In the end they put in about six hours of actual work time and billed us $850. I was pissed. I emailed their office twice. I never heard back.

DO NOT HIRE On the Move in Sioux Falls. If you take that chance and a guy named John shows up as the lead driver/mover, fire him on the spot and demand a different crew!

Moving company stole our vacuum cleaner.

AI Highlights
  • - A brand-new vacuum disappeared after the move.
  • - There was no manager to speak with; months later, a flyer from the same company arrived.

We hired a moving company to move everything out of our old apartment into our new apartment. I saw one of the men pick up our brand new high quality vacuum cleaner to take it down the stairs and into their moving truck.

Once everything was all said and done later that night we noticed it was missing. So we called the next day, to my surprise there was not even manager to speak to. Apparently they do not have one. So nothing was done about it.

Pass by a couple of months and we have a flyer on our door...low and behold it is the SAME moving company advertising. I call and ask them to please do not leave your flyers on our door because of what happened when we used them. He said they are a franchise and do not have any manager to talk to as well as no corporate number. He assured me someone will get back to me about this incident.

.. and I have yet to hear from anyone.
