Omnipod demands multiple forms worth of information including, your personal information, doctor information and insurance information on top of signing a waiver. Ive tried omnipod an been fobed off. Ive tried everything to try an prevent the situation. But ive been on my pod 3 years and all of a sudden the glue in the patches are burning my skin. Hi I am new to the Pod and am really enjoying it my only complaint is I use more than the 200 units in a 3 day period I use to use one of those other pumps someone complained about high blood sugars. with the pump and the CGM it worked with my CGM said I was dropping but a finger poke showed totally the opposite. Transmit insulin delivery , pod clicks delivery, Dexcom shows no change in blood sugar. Occurs many times, very poor insulin control system.

The pod did not deliver any insulin at all and my sugars remained incredibally high. After four different attempts to receive insulin I had to remove the pod and give myself a shot using the humalog kwik pen. Within 25 minutes my sugar began to drop.

I too have lots of pod failures for no reason! I'm a RN and know what I'm supposed to do. Horrible customer service, on hold over 45 minutes to try to get replacement pods. Going to go back to Medtronic pump. Had one for years, not one failure!!!!

I had to watch my mom struggle to get me the Omnipod and struggle to pay for them, and they don't even work, I've had so many "failed" pods there's been 2 times where I was minutes from having to go to the hospital because of ketone acidosis I thought Omnipod would help me but all its doing is hurting me
I was having itching, rashes, and bruising at the injection spot thinking I was allergic to the adhesive. Never had I gone through anything like this. I've never been allergic to adhesive and I had tried over the counter creams and medications. The itching would wake me up at night. I have been wearing the Omni pod for almost 3 years now and love it. However, about 3 months ago, I started to having an allergic reaction at the pod site. Extreme itching and raised patches of red irritated skin underneath the pod. I just read that Omni Pod has changed from a gluten free adhesive to one with gluten. At first I was excited about the proposed experience when using the OmniPod Insulin Pump however, my interpretation of it was an enhanced experience related to privacy instead, my lack of privacy increased. I started podding in 2009 and have been mostly happy. In the first 7 years, I only had 20 bad pods total, but this year I've had 6, which probably doesn't sound like much, but these things cost me (after ins.) over $20 a piece! Add in that I lose $10 (my cost) of insulin every time one fails and you're close to $200 of waste in 7 months. My copay on this crazily expensive plastic DME is $1,040 every quarter! It is Saturday and I've waited all day for an omnipod delivery and it isn't here. My pod expires tomorrow and I just called the twenty four hour tech support line and it's not a twenty four hour helpline at all. No one answered! What is going on! I have no backup insulin so if I don't end up in ketoacidosis I'll be very lucky.
