Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Once I finally found out who was holding my policy I contacted them and explained that I had actually canceled in April (which they supposedly didn't have a record of) and they had not followed up with a call back in May. Anyways I told her that I wanted to be refunded the $136.42 they had taken out of my account so she connected me to a different department and I explained it again so she agreed to refund my money saying it would take between 48-72 hours.
So, I called a few more numbers yesterday (June 18th) and finally found out who is holding my life insurance policy. When I signed up it was with Northstar legacy, when I received my bank statement it said Occidental life but when I finally found someone that answered the phone it was with American Amicable.
They were holding my policy. I explained the situation and she said that they were issuing me a full refund. She said it would take 48-72 hrs.
I'm good with that as long as it comes through. (Thank you Adrianna for connecting me to the right department) I'll give another update when my refund comes through.
I called a different number today and got a recording asking for an extension # so I entered it and everything was in Spanish so I took a chance and pressed 1.After that another recording said that the person at that extension wasn't available. The problem with that was it wasn't the same extension I entered.
Then I tried the live chat and was told they didn't have a record of the cancelation and as I was typing trying to add the date I canceled my screen went back to the original screen wanting me to reenter all of my information including the policy number, my name, address, phone number & email address. I don't feel like that was an accident.
Then I sent another email message explaining the situation and it said they would respond within 24 hrs so that gives them until tomorrow early afternoon. I'll give them a chance to respond and if they don't I will continue to call, email & do another live chat until I actually get to talk to someone.
I kept getting a beep then music. I got through one time and then disconnected.
I received my bank statement the other day and they had taken $136.42 out of my checking account. I'm still calling and getting the beep & music.
I've sent emails a couple times but haven't got a response. I will continue calling until they either answer the phone or send me an email.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. It took several phone calls to several different insurance companies to find out who was actually carrying my policy but once I found them I was issued a full refund.
I had signed up for life insurance in mid-late March
But I called to cancel on April 12th. I've been trying to call their number but it beeps then goes straight to music.
I received my bank statement 6/15/24 and they took $136.42
out of my account. I will file a complaint to Pissedcustomer, the BBB, my bank, and anyone else I have to including my attorney.
