Never received chest or refund; bed missing parts
I was lucky enough to actually receive the pirate bed I ordered, but it was missing parts that they never sent and they never delivered the chest I paid for. I sent multiple emails and, like everyone else, eventually they just stopped responding. It's such a shame because the bed is kind of cool (a friend of mine was able to fix it, for the most part, to make it workable).
The last response I was able to get from them was in December 2010 and I stopped trying in January 2011, grateful my loss was relatively small by comparison to so many others who never even received their beds.
I don't think they deliberately set out to scam people, but they are grossly incompetent business managers and do not take responsibility for their incompetence and do not refund the money they essentially end up stealing. I filed multiple complaints with the BBB to which Fred and Laura kept responding with some version of, 'we will refund the money.' But they only said this on the BBB complaint--they would not respond to me personally and they never made the refund or delivered the chest.
I feel for all of you who didn't even get your beds. I can't believe people like this are able to stay in business. I think they rely on people giving up and writing off the loss, so I'm glad some of you had the fortitude to actually hold them accountable! Thank you on behalf of the rest of us.
Had to sue them
I ran across this company again after dealing with them over 3 years ago. I can't believe they are even still in business.
I saw there website has been updated, so they are obviously still pulling this scam! I had the same experience as everyone else. They take your money, string you along with stories about delays with the manufacturer, then they just stop talking to you all together. I filed complaints with every department I could.
I ended up suing them. When I was dealing with them they had 26 other complaints with the BBB.
Don't buy from them! Hopefully they go to jail soon.
Pirate bed misleading promises
Fred is the nicest guy until you transfer the money to his account. He responds to all emails fast and in detail and thereby winning you over.
I never even thought of looking at reviews on the company. So he is playing a game with potential clients. As soon as he has your money all correspondence stop. The sad part is that he uses his own children in the marketing bull to sell his product.
So, 2 months after payment I still don't have any visibility of whether I will ever receive the pirate bed and of what I've seen from other reviews I won't hold my breath. I'm in the process to see how I can get my money back and to make sure that I write as many as possible reviews to prevent other people from loosing their hard earned money.

You're gonna have to sue these people in small claims, no way around it because Fred and Laura will continue to ignore you forever, that's what I did. Yes, I did travel to California which was FAR for me, but it was worth it.
Just bring your proof that you paid, case shouldn't last long at all. Fred and Laura were too pathetic not to show up, I won my case. The clerks at court will help you through the whole process. Also, you're going to have to file complaints with the IC3, BBB, local law enforcement, IRS, attorney general of CA, district attorney of CA.
You must spread the word, so that they will eventually get shut down! Google each of these organizations for Ladera Ranch, CA. After the court process, you will have many options to get your money back.
If you're worried about travel expenses, it should be reimbursable! I hope I have helped many of you who are clueless about what to do.
Olivia and Will- Bought a bed, received no bed AND no communcation
I have had the same disappointing experience as other buyers on this site, and I wish I had found this site earlier. I sent Olivia and Will a check in Dec 2011 for a pirate bed, which was set to deliver in February.
I have yet to receive anything. All calls and emails have gone unreturned, and I have sent MANY email and called MANY times. I have filed a compliant with the BBB and plan to take legal action, but don't wish anyone else this trouble.
I have given the company ample chances to call and email and have received no response at all. Their products appear pretty, and there is always excuse for delay, but there is no excuse for radio silence.

Olivia & Will, owners Laura Jean Golightly & Fred Henry Golightly is a scam company. They took my money up to $1000.
I wanted to purchase a bed and they said that they have to wait on shipment from Vietnam. This happened in September of 2011. They say wait up to a month and half. I wait, no bed.
I ask for refund by phone and email, they say they will send it out immediately. It NEVER ARRIVES! I try to email and call them asking them where is my money and they will never respond back to me. They completely ignore me from here on out.
I even told them I would tell authorities, but they do not not care because they are heartless. They exploit their children/grandchildren all over their site, www.oliviaandwill.com and that is just shameful. I'm completely disgusted. Now I am in the process of filing a lawsuit against them to reclaim my money.
DO NOT EVER BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!! Please take this as a legit warning.
OLIVIA & WILL WILL NOT SHIP MY PURCHASES
I purchased the princess bed collection and my credit card was charged on Oct.19, 2011. I was told I would have delivery by Dec 2, 2011.
It is now Feb 28, 2012 and I have not received the night stand nor the dresser mirror and the bed and dresser I received are in horrible condition. They would not return any phone calls or emails until I contacted the BBB. After empty promises, they have once again stopped all communication.
I called the fraud department of my credit card and they are handling the dispute but PLEASE don't pay these people any moneu. The furniture looks fabulous in the pictures online but THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE- IF YOU RECEIVE ANYTHING AT ALL!!!!!!

Addressing complaints about Olivia & Will, Inc.
Hi, I am Fred Golightly, the president of Olivia & Will, Inc. I only became aware of this site recently, and am trying to address these comments. However, the way pissedconsumers.com handles this forum, we cannot respond to you or anyone on this forum except to write a comment here and hope that you will get this message and reply to us by direct e-mail.
First, I'd like to point out that while this site is for upset customers (and some here are justified and I want to respond where I can); and in reading some of the comments posted here about our company and other companies, I found myself asking, where is the site happyconsumers.com? We've been doing this for a long time and have quite a few happy customers, but again, this is the last place we'd expect them to come and comment unless we ask them to do so.
As it is, this forum is not conducive to resolving problems. I have researched other complaints here for other companies (look up pissedconsumers.com on this site to see), and simply put, because there are no screening methods on this site, anyone can complain here, some true, some false, some customers , some not, some doubling up, some competitors and some using this forum to get discounts.
In all of it though, we do have customers with real issues and want to take care of them. There are people here that we have resolved successfully and made happy, but, again, because of the way this site is set up, they can't go back and edit/delete their comments placed previously or link to the original comment. I am not aware of any other service such as this web site that does this, but I did see that pissedconsumers.com has an "F" rating with the BBB.
Unfortunately, the rules here leave our company and customers in a very difficult position and disadvantage in trying to resolve genuine issues, and we take these seriously. Most sites like this one offer the ability to resolve issues with customers. This site is not set up for this purpose, and it's harmful to both us and most importantly our customers.
We are a small family business. Our only true purpose is to make our furniture and ship it to customers. We just want the little pirates and princesses happy. We do not want to have these complaints or problems any more than our customers do. Unfortunately, with the current economic climate around the world, it affects our suppliers too and they do not always inform us of delays in production or problems. Some still take on big orders, but have had to reduce staff and employees, thus, production slows down, and shipments get delayed. Many suppliers are trying to "cut corners", and these are not acceptable to us, so some furniture is rejected causing more delays. Again, if visitors here look up other companies, especially in the furniture industry, it is becoming common place to have delays.
We are aware that pissedconsumers.com is devoted solely to unhappy customers, and it offers no real way to resolve concerns or find solutions let alone edit, delete/retract a comment once posted.
To both all others seeing these comments, please do not use this forum for complaints as it makes resolving issued very difficult for us. I would post my e-mail here, but, it will likely get screened out (funny they do that though), but please contact me at comments @ oliviaandwill dot com. I will write back to you and resolve issues. It is the best I can do on this site.
To everyone, all we want is to make children and families happy. We do have a lot of happy customers, but this venue is not a place they would come. Unfortunately some here, we have failed, but have/are making amends with them.

Olivia and Will's Fine Children's Furniture stole my money!
I paid this company $2178.00 July 2, 2010 for a bed that was never delivered. Company initially overcharged, then instead of returning the overpayment, decided that the extra money would be called a 'shipping fee'.
Suspicious. Especially since this fee was never mentioned before this. After many excuses and them avoiding me ,I asked for a full refund. They agreed, but did not deliver.
I keep asking for refund, they keep promising it to me, but they do not deliver.
The owner, Fred Golightly, only returns messages or phone calls when I threaten him with a lawyer.
I figured that systematic bad reviews would be more efficient and less costly then taking hime to court. So, here it is.
Theft by Olivia and Will
I placed an order for the full size pirate ship bed in August 2010 along with the treasure chest, step stool, and storage drawers. I received every excuse in the world, when they actually responded, and did not receive the bed until May 2011.
The sail was not included and I have not received any of my other items. They will not respond to my emails or phone calls.
I have documented calls and emails throughout the process. I plan to contact my credit card company and the Better Business Bureau.
We should all file a complaint with the attorney general so that this company can be put out of business.
Crooks like this should not be allowed to continue to steal hard earned dollars from consumers.
The worst purchase of my life!!!!!
I ordered the Pirate Bed on Aug 10, 2010 and it was just delivered to my house June 6th, 2011, curb side!!!!! No assembly.
Not only I had to wait for the bed for almost a year, but I was charged more than $400 for shipping, they didn't have to curtsey to assemble the *** bed. I am single mother of 2 and I am not sure now I am going to get this bed upstair and then assemble.
I am extremely angry and disappointed and called them right away and as usual (the whole past year), no one picked up the phone. I will definitely file charges with general attorney.
Did not receive all my items
Finally received my bed after many emails and attempted phone calls. But, I also paid for the drawers that go under the bed and never received them.
It looks like from the other reviews I won't be getting them or my money back.The bed arrived very well packed and it is awesome of course it was missing some bolts etc. but my hubby found some in the garage so that was no biggy. It also did not arrive with the cloth sail which Laura has told me will be coming but I will not hold my breath. I have asked for a refund for the drawers but my emails have been ignored.
My credit card company says it is past the 90 days for dispute but if I submit all our emails etc. they may decide to grant a extension. It is really too bad because it is a wonderful and unique bed and if they had taken care of things they could have a exceptional business. I feel that I have been more than patient with them as I ordered the bed in Sept.
2010 and just received it on Feb. 24th. I thought thank goodness it is here and I can be done with this but now I am stuck trying to get the sail and a refund for the drawers.
UGH!
