Pending Repair Reimbursement

On April 17, 2024 my son took his car to Oil Express 8578 Princeton Glendale Road

West Chester, OH 45069. After leaving the location my sons car stopped running.

It was towed to our mechanic who looked over the vehicle and found that the Air Filter Housing had not been replaced correctly which allowed debris to enter the system. We contacted the location and took the statement from our mechanic to show what the Oil Express service tech had errored on and the cost for the tow and repair $216.00.

We were advised Oil Express would reimburse for the full cost. To date we have not received a reimbursement.

SCAMMED

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Requested an oil changed for 19.99 and ended up paying 42.78. Regular old not used.

Used Synthetic oil that I did not request. I was told by the young staff I need an oil cleaner that was on sell and it was 19.99 so I was getting that free since I had the coupon. I have no trust in them anymore.

Have gone to them for years. I am now a Senior Citizen, Card carrier(red, white, blue) done with them, if that is where they are going with their business.

DO NOT purchase oil from this company!!!! They are the highest priced oil company on Cape Cod.

If you call and ask price they will NOT tell you their actual retail price which is well over $4.00 a gallon about $1.50 higher then any other company! They are scam artists with deceptive pricing!

Resolved: VERY DISATISFIED WITH DIRTY OIL AND FAKED SERVICE

Updated by user Feb 15, 2016

After several weeks, and conversations with the OE manager and the corporate office, they agreed to issue me a certificate for a free oil change in the future. This was accompanied by a sincere letter of apology. Case closed.

Original review Jan 15, 2016

I am NOT SATISFIED with the service I just received at OIL EXPRESS.

I just returned from getting an oil change service at Oil Express #2501, 2501 N. Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60647. We Agreed on the price of $37.99 minus $5.00 coupon plus the taxes.

When the serviceman completed the change and showed me the oil stick, THE OIL WAS DIRTY. (In hindsight, I believe that not all the oil was drained from the car, and that only a little clean oil was placed in the engine.)

I complained to him and the supervisor, who both tried to convince me that the dirty oil was due to a supposed dirty engine. I protested the matter. My oil change was slightly overdue, but my engine is no way dirty!

When I saw that my contention was fast going no where, I asked the supervisor to replace the oil and I would pay the difference. He agreed to do this. When he showed me the “new” oil change, the oil was very clear; no dirt at all!

The supervisor then hurriedly closed the hood and came for the payment. I asked him if the other items were checked; that is the tire pressure, the brake, washer fluids, etc. He assured me they had been serviced. (I discovered later that they had not received servicing.)

The final bill turned out to be a total of $51.52. I think that was too much for me to pay for a compromise about dirty oil; that is@***.00 per quart x 4 quarts, or $15.96!

I paid the bill and left the service center, only to realize while driving that my oil light hand not been reset; even though the service check list read: “Oil Light . . . .RESET DONE”. I then turned around and went back to the service center and asked the serviceman to please reset my oil light, which he did (facetiously, for the second time!!!).

I went to another auto parts store to get some wipers, and to get some Wiper Fluid, just in case. And wouldn’t you know it, when I checked the wiper fluid level, I had to pour ½ gallon into the reservoir! Once again, in hindsight, I don’t believe the serviceman ever checked the other items.

I feel ripped off of my money, and my time. I overpaid for sub-standard service, and for cheating a customer. My TRUST factor in this OIL EXPRESS is about at 1-2 on a scale of 10!

I first thought not to complain, but I’m glad I changed my mind.

OIL EXPRESS, you had better do some undercover checking on your business #2501 in Chicago!

TRUST and QUALITY CONTROL are the bottom line when someone looks under the hood of your car!

(I wonder if the lower serviceman sufficiently tightened my oil pan plug???!)

VERY DISSATISFIED WITH DIRTY OIL AND FAKED SERVICE!

Don't Buy Oil Express Cape Cod / Falmouth Ma.. scammers, price gauging, screwing the working people and elderly.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

we financed our heating oil with oil express in the winter of 2013-14 at the time it seemed like a good idea. we would pay 200.00 a month until the remaining balance (1300.00) was paid off in September 9/14.

Heating Oil prices ranged from a high of 4.99 a gallon ending with 4.29 a gallon. the average price of heating oil as of 1/6/15 is 2.50 a gallon. This company IS A BIG SCAM, their hustlers, *** screwing the working man and the elderly. These cowards hide behind the phone and their poor secretary (Dawn)who I felt bad for.

We received a delivery in 11/14 and our last delivery on 1/6/15. We received nothing but harassing phone calls from the company, telling us we need to pay more on our monthly payment. From 200.00 to 515.00 a month stating it was based on last years bill and oil prices which was paid in full in September. So let me get this straight.

it's January 6th, your charging me 2.00 dollars more than the average price of heating oil and you want to up my monthly payment from 200. to 515 a month nice going you *** scammers. PS.. WHEN I PAID THE REMAINING BALANCE OF 1300.00 on 1/9/15, THEY WANTED AN ADDITIONAL 350.00 TO TERMINATE MY EVER CHANGING CONTRACT THAT ONLY SUITED THEM..

*** THE WORKING MAN and elderly. PSSS.

TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS. I TOLD MINE AT THE BBB AND CONSUMERS REPORT, FACEBOOK, AND VARIOUS MEDIA OUTLETS....

I also Went and Signed a Contract with Oil Express Because they Have a Payment Plan was the Main reason . With Oil being so High in 2013 it seemed Great .

Not Looking into the Contract Further Realized that they were going to be charging me a Higher Price matter if oil prices go down . My Main Problem is the financing of the Oil . I was Paying 4.99 a Gal for some of the Delivery of oil some of the Gal were 3.99 and Now I am Stuck paying 4.29 a Gal at 515.00 a Month if I wanted the payment plan . So we were stuck as Stuck can be .

Had to suck it up and Pay Those High Prices or Break the Contract for 350.00 Penalty Fee so that is what we Did .

So Upset that I fell for it and was Not more Careful in the Prices being charged and How the Payment Plan worked . so I will go back to a local co with The Best Price and order as Needed Not much other choice .

This company on Cape Cod are a bunch of thieves. I quit the company last month yet I looked on my bank statements & they are still charging me 150.

I will need to call them tomorrow.

Internally I can tell there is a total lack of communication. Customer service is horrible with snarky representatives.

Wrong oil filter

I went there for an oil change with my dad's used car. I was unsure of the year and wrote down a guesstimate and told the oil express employee I was not sure.

They said they would take care of it and just went by what year I put down. (They didn't even bother to check the hood of the car or V-number.This led to them putting a wrong sized oil filter and the screw was coming undone and oil leaked out to and from work for several days. I was not aware of this until I was leaving work one day and realized my car was making odd, rattling sounds and the oil light was turning on. My engine was done.

I left my car there and asked the Oil Express guy what to do, he told me to get a tow and he would cover the expenses. We brought it to a mechanic and he confirmed it was due to the wrong filter. The oil express guy apologized. He went back to his job and told me that because I put the wrong year, it was not their fault but mine....

I expected them to know what they were doing and even told them I was not sure from the beginning. Now I am left with no car. The manager for that Oil Express never even bothered to follow up with me to at least pay for the tow truck. I had to personally contact them back days later and he told me to bring the receipt.

I hardly even want to go and step foot in that place again, so a mere $120 for the tow makes me feel mocked. I am just so disappointed and frustrated with this. I asked him again if he is confirming that they were not responsible, which he responded saying, "I'm not saying anything." I reminded him of what he said earlier in our phone call and he then agreed saying "Yes, we were responsible." He was trying to be wishy washy with his wording; which I can understand why.

The company says they care about their customers and have years of experience and have serviced over 20 million vehicles. With that kind of service, I am never going to an Oil Express again and neither are my coworkers, friends or family.

If the customer is unsure, shouldn't their professionalism take action and always double check everything to make sure it is in order? I do not understand how a company cannot take responsibility for their physical actions.

Oil Express, East Falmouth, MA

I cancelled service with Oil Express after speaking with customer service 3 times tostop sending automtic delivery. Two months after cancelling my service, they sent another deliver and expct me to pay for it.

Another call was made and I am still waiting to hear from the manager. Meanwhile, they continue to strong arm me into staying with them and telling me I need to "settle up" with them. Seriously? They are scammers!

They are also much more expensive than other companies.

Go with Self-Reliance. It is a non-profit organization and they save you .10 -.20 less a gallon than Oil Express!
