Misleading "Free' Trip

Capital GMC car dealership in Edmonton, AB offered a free 2-night trip to Las Vegas with the purchase of a car. I bought a car and received my trip certificate and entered it online. I was then asked to pay $300 in taxes which, fairly, I was informed about at Capital GMC. I was then billed $300 USD ($460 CND) even though both Odenza and I are in Canada. Not sure why. While attempting to book my trip I was informed that the basic certificate was for an average, off-strip hotel of 3-stars and can only be booked during a time that no other certificates are being used (i.e if you want to book a certain date and not go on Odenza's schedule you have to pay more because they will change the certificate by adding an extra day/4-star hotel/etc). So it was either; book for a time that doesn't meet my schedule, pay $99 USD to add a night in a 3-star venue and go on the date I requested, or pay $160 USD to add an extra day in a 4-star venue and go when requested. I chose the refund of my $460. Odenza sold a certificate to Capital GMC, Capital GMC sells a car and gives the certificate away, Odenza doesn't have to honour the certificate because it won't be used due. Perfect scam. Both Capital GMC and Odenza are purposefully being very misleading. Capital GMC should not be allowed to suggest that you get a free trip knowing that the taxes need to be paid (and in a foreign currency), and Odenza for basically forcing you to add to the already substantial amount paid just so you can have the dates that you want. My car wasn't purchased for the trip, of course, but the addition of the free trip definitely was a factor in swaying me to buy from that particular dealer. Next time a salesman even mentions Odenza I'm not buying their product. Hopes up, hopes down. Now I'm booking a trip on my own terms and spending even more money! Vegas here I come! Capital GMC and Odenza, see ya never again!

Odenza Vacations Vacation Package Booking Review

They wanted to charge me more than if I booked a hotel room directly- they wanted $179 per person to stay at circus circus- if I called and booked directly it would be $172 total.
