Id like to know how many characters are allowed in the message for question about medication. I had to cut my text to be available to send my question.

And of cause I could not make it understandable enough. What is the purpose to limit patients ability to ask a health related question?

Bad Providers in the hospital and ER

Original review updated Sep 20, 2023

I was misdiagnosed and discharged from the ER only to be rushed back with a life threatening infection several, hours later. I was admitted into ICU for a few days and then transferred to a regular floor, total stay was 7 days.

I had something like a port put in my arm for intravenous treatment that went bad. A doctor refused to take it out even though it could no longer be used and it was causing me pain. I had to get an AOD involved to get it out. Once it was out, it was found I had a small blood clot where the port was.

I was at NYU Winthrop and that hospital use to be very good.

Whatever they did when NYU took over, they ruined it. It is very poor now.

Cons:
  • Not of the patients
  • Too quick to make the wrong diagnosis
  • Renegade doctors that act in their interests

Preferred solution: Retraining of their staff with a patient first attitude.

User's recommendation: Don't go there

Mistreating patient

Original review updated May 30, 2023

I recently had an appointment with Dr baltus at the NYU Langone primary Care facility in Huntington Long Island. I went in because my specialist said my blood pressure is dangerously high and I've been having chest pains and erratic and high blood pressure readings.

When I got in for my appointment the nurse was very rude and dismissive when I said that I needed an EKG when I scheduled the appointment it was for an ekg. When she left the office she started talking about me and my medical needs alloud so everyone could hear. Then when the doctor came in she gave me a horrible attitude and even though I kept trying to tell her I'm having chest pains and I'm scared of having a stroke or a heart attack she would not take my blood pressure or hear my request for an EKG. Finally she was so rude that I asked her to get the manager when the manager came she apologized and said that she would do what she could to have another doctor take my blood pressure and give me an EKG.

After an hour of sitting there with pain in my chest I couldn't wait anymore and I left. I had faith in NYU Langone as being humanitarians as caring for your patients I was treated like an enemy and I don't even know why maybe it was because there was a scheduling confliction with the EKG and the time that they needed to perform it but that's not my problem I've been feeling like I'm having a heart attacks for days and I'm scared and no one would even take my blood pressure to make sure I was okay I had to leave and drive away and now I'm finding a whole new medical facility. I had used NYU Land going for my primary care and for my specialists for years. I feel discriminated against The only reason that I could think of for why they would treat me this way was because of my HIV status.

I'm hoping that you can take this feedback and use it to improve your facility so that no other patient has to be traumatized the way I was in your office by Dr baltus. Please contact me and let me know that I'm sending this to the right place because I'm adamant in making sure no other patient gets treated the way I was.

Pros:
  • I used to love my primary care physician dr blotcher
Cons:
  • Not being able to get appointment with my primary care physician

Preferred solution: I would like NYU Langone to acknowledge that if a person comes in saying they are in distress with chest pains that they will immediately take their blood pressure and assess the situation.

User's recommendation: My recommendations for future patients is that if you feel you're being mistreated don't second guess it start recording with your phone as much documentation as you can have the better.

Pharmacy 216 Henry Street Hempstead NY

As a provider I have been attempting to reach the pharmacy and discuss medication for our patient. I have followed the prompts on the provider line since 9am on 10/8/2021.

It is now 3:31pm and we have not been able to speak with a pharmacist to resolve the issue yet. our office has been on half for 45 minutes to 1 hour with no success.

this is disturbing and bad for our patients. Someone from HQ needs to investigate the issues with this pharmacy as it may potentially interfere with patients care , if it has not already done so.

After 2 month wait, pulmo made me wait 2 hours past appt. time

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

It took me two months to get an appt. with the only pulmonologist they had in the uptown location.

I arrived early as requested. After one hour past my appt. time I went to the desk to ask what the problem was. I was told it would be another hour wait past my appointment time.

The arrogance and lack of respect for patients is inexcusable. I am done with NYU Langone and will find other doctors.

At least pretend to be interested

Did he really think I wouldn't notice that he was checking his email on his watch? Then he told me he has no idea what is wrong with me.

Golly Gee I hope it's number one not a bother to him and two that my health problems aren't two serious or that I don't really get sicker under his inattentive care. I have been seeing him for close to a year and not only does he offer no advice but you can not speak with him or come in to see him if it urgent.

Time to find someone else. I think the email thing is the worse though.
