I get billed way after the dates of service for owing the provider money that should be covered under insurance. After making it impossible to sign in online, call and confirm its owing and then getting a foreign country on the phone to secure all your bank/credit card info. They exhaust you in the hopes that you just give up and send money!

Monopolizing Healthcare

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - -Nuvance-Northwell merger raises monopolization and reduced competition concerns.
  • - -Regulators monitor merger and seek to preserve affordable access.

Nuvance Health's merger with Northwell Health has raised concerns about monopolization in healthcare, as it may limit competition and drive up costs for consumers. Efforts are being made to ensure that this consolidation does not negatively impact access to affordable healthcare services."

"Concerns About Monopolization in Healthcare

The merger between Nuvance Health and Northwell Health has sparked significant concerns regarding monopolization in the healthcare sector.

This consolidation could potentially limit competition, which is crucial for maintaining affordable healthcare services for consumers.

Impact on Competition

Reduced Choices: The merger may lead to fewer options for patients, as larger health systems can dominate the market.

Increased Costs: With less competition, there is a risk that healthcare costs will rise, impacting affordability for consumers.

Regulatory Oversight

To address these concerns, regulatory bodies are closely monitoring the merger. Efforts are being made to ensure that the consolidation does not adversely affect access to healthcare services. This includes:

Enforceable Conditions: Northwell Health has agreed to conditions aimed at preserving competition and ensuring affordable access to healthcare.

Monitoring by Attorney General: The Attorney General's office is actively involved in overseeing the merger to prevent any anticompetitive practices.

Conclusion

The merger of Nuvance Health with Northwell Health highlights the ongoing challenges in the healthcare industry regarding monopolization.

Ensuring that consumers retain access to affordable and quality healthcare remains a priority for regulators and advocates alike."

"Nuvance Health's monopoly could lead to higher healthcare prices, as studies show that hospital prices in monopoly markets are typically 15% higher than in competitive markets. This is due to the lack of competition, allowing the monopoly to set prices without losing customers."

Billing Issues

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Billed since March 2024 for a service where the doctor only said hello.
  • - Repeated calls fail to have insurance and billing information on file.

Nuvance Health should be renamed as Nuisance Health. From March 2024, I have been getting a bill for some lame service provided where the doctor just came in and said hello.

Nothing else, but that is not what my complaint is. I have called every month and given my insurance information, and yet every month when I call, they say they don't have my insurance information. I have no clue as to what they are doing and how come they don't have my billing info. I just called today again, probably the 10th time, and they still don't have my billing info.

So incompetent, or is it just laziness? I have no clue.

God help me to remain calm and them to survive. What is the world coming to?

Preferred solution: That my insurance be billed correctly and the erroneous billing stop

If the doctor came in and just said “hello”, end of interaction, I’d say for $1500 THAT should be 99.9% of your complaint. Regardless of whether you or the insurance gets the bill.

Illegal Billing Practices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - I was billed over $2k for an ER visit.
  • - Disputed the bill; there was no follow-up.
  • - Bill was sold to a collection agency that calls and texts often.

Nuvance Health billed me over $2k for an ER visit that was due to prior negligence on their part, possibly Medical Malpractice though I don't have the money to bring suit against them. I disputed the bill; there was no follow up.

Instead, Nuvance sold the bill to a collection company that now calls and texts me numerous times a week. Nuvance Health does not have a publicly available email to contact, and the billing department phone number listed does not work.

User's recommendation: If you have to deal with them in any way keep all records of interactions with them. Avoid them completely if you are able to do so.

Billing for On-line Payments

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Online bill pay requires calling the number on the bill.
  • - The service isn’t user-friendly.
  • - The reviewer hopes someone will look at this program.

Every time I go online to pay my bill, I have to call the telephone number on the bill. The service is not user-friendly.

When I used to go into the patient portal to pay, it was much easier. Hopefully, someone will take the time to look at this program!

User's recommendation: LOOK AT PAYMENT METHODS FOR EASIER USER FRIENDLY USAGE!

Credit owed, not received .

AI Highlights
  • - There were numerous calls about an overpayment.
  • - I was told it was approved; I faxed cancelled checks.
  • - Notes have disappeared; credit is $525.

Numerous logged calls due to overpayment. Was told it was approved and being processed.

Was told to fax copies of cancelled checks, and complied. Called to check status and All notes and contacts regarding accounts and credit have been deleted!! Credit amount $525.00 .. have been hung up on and "disconnected" on calls regarding follow up.

..have details of dates, times, names, and conversations since this began in March.

Original date of service 1/5/24. ..all notes on account on your end have "disappeared" ..

User's recommendation: Overcharge, double bill, never send credit. Horrible dishonest customer service.

First, no one answers the phone in billing. Second, press one to leave a message. That prompt doesn't work. Third, your Dr.s are president to felons.

Ongoing issue with pre-check forms.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Weekly Dyson Center visits since Jan 2023; pre-checks show wrong Medicare/FEHB BCBS data, causing incorrect bills and unresolved issues.

Every week since January 2023 I have gone to the Dyson Center for treatment. Each week I am sent a pre-check form, which always has information I have to correct regarding the insurance.

My primary insurance is Medicare and my secondary income insurance is federal employees Blue Cross Blue Shield after many many complaints, I thought this issue was fixed. Now its showing up with the wrong information again, prompting me to re-enter my insurance cards over and over and over. As a result, I get incorrect bills which have not been properly processed through Medicare first and Blue Cross second if my insurance is processed through Blue Cross first, my coverage is completely incorrect. I have complained to customer service and to the Dyson Center with no resolution I have contacted technical support who claims its been fixed which it hasnt.

It would be nice to speak to a human being regarding this issue and not a chat bot.

it is so frustrating not only to be going through cancer but having to deal with this ridiculous problem at the same time Ive received over 50 treatments at the Dyson Center and the pre-check forms for each of these has been incorrect. Please help.
