Realtor steered me into a mess without ever warning me about a holding tank!

My realtor from the Washington PA location should be fired. How dare she call herself a realtor when as I'm looking at an old home with a holding tank (no septic system) she never warns me about the huge cost or any information whatsoever.

Then she recommends a rookie inspector, whom states that I could put a septic system in which in fact the home failed the perc test and is solid clay. Then on the day of closing she says the seller left, wants it sold "as is" and that is not a problem. Now I'm on the *** of bankruptcy! I will make it my life's work to spread the word about Northwood and this specific realtor.

Funny, she lives in the vicinity of the home that I got stuck with, which was on the market for some time.... maybe she got a nice reward from Northwood.

How special. Thanks for nothing.

Where do I start? Truthfully, this is the most awkward and brutal review I've ever had to construct.

It's come to my attention (three months after closing on my house) that one Aaron Smay (Northwood Realty Service Agent) had been luring my ex-fiance away from me (this had been going on for nearly a year). I'm sure he'll deny all of this, but the fact of the matter she and my daughter are now living at his house in Coraopolis, PA.

In order to support my three kids and whom I thought was my future wife, I had been working 750 miles away from Pittsburgh. It was tough times as well (there were days where I didn't have the money for dinner), I had been simultaneously paying rent and the mortgage on this house. A house closing where this charlatan made a nice 1.5% and Northwood made 6.5%. Although, there is little to no chance of my ex-fiance and I salvaging the relationship, I find the experience to be borderline unethical and most certainly unprofessional, at the very least. The old adage of not mixing business with pleasure, must be dead. He was wowing and luring my family away from me and doing business with me simultaneously, going in and out of my house, as he saw fit.

I've found that the emotional cheating began as an innocent friendship. However, through my ex-fiance's own admittance, I've found that they had and have been intimately confiding in each other. The sad part, I had discovered the name 'Aaron' through a mutual acquaintance who said she was hanging out with him and had asked her, "it couldn't be 'Aaron Smay' our realty agent, could it?" Her answer, an emphatic "no!" Therefore, the deceit and lies have been compounding for some time.

Although, I'm sure it would take much more on my part, I doubt he will lose his realtor license, but he really should lose it. The good news for the realty sector and I, the truth is now out and every house buyer should know of his lack of character. No quality realty company should ever employ or contract with a snake like this. To think, selling a house is such a big deal and to confide in someone that eventually lures your future wife away from you with false promises and lies. It's only now that I see her realizing she has made a mistake and would walk away from it. At this point, I could care less.

I've let Northwood know about the situation. We'll see how they react. I've yet to be dignified with an answer.

BTW, his overall service was unremarkable as well. A sheer lack of communication, follow-up, presentation and support. He reacted with laziness and had no real understanding of marketing principles.

That the second 2 Realtors involved at the same office need fired. The sellers realtor was looking though our personal paperwork she should have never seen.

Mostly in part because the buyers realtor was new. The newer realtor was not comprehending anything I was telling her thus going to the sellers realtor major conflict of interest. I would not recommend Northwood Realty at all and especially in the Washington PA location.

The Realtor was fired for all this on our behalf. NORTHWOOD REALTY ON MAIN STREET WASHINGTON, PA IS A JOKE.

Northwood Realty in washington pa on north Main street

So they are discrimative against you if you dont put down their proper hand money they are insisting of tell you tou have to get a second preapproval when you already have one. Then the listing agent states dont take it personal after asked if we put the proper amount would we ned a second approval.

How could you not take it personal she also showed our good faith estimate to the sellers listing agent. When we arrived to make the offer ahe waited until the end to state oh by the way we are ahowing the house to another interested party today at 11 am. She made it out like a joke.

I wish i never would of contacted this office the realtor is not experienced prior to signing documents sat we met her back at the house and i specifically asked her to bring the xontract then for the offer she had us sign the documents that we are stuck with her for the next six months. Seriously worst home buying experience i have ever had and ive owned 4 homes.

They collude with buyers and produced an obvious fraudulent inspection report that was filled with suspicious info. The buyers tried to ram down the price of our house several thousand dollars using the fake inspection. When we tried to get out of the suspicious sake, northwood threatened to sue us. We stuck to our price with northwood harrowing us with threatening phone calls and emails to lower the price do not hire them crooks

Northwood is awful ! The agents are incompetent *** .

The seller we were buying off of didn't finish what was supposed to be finished and the agent had the nerve to turn on us !!! I can't believe how this went down. The inspector we used was an *** who was recommended by the agent go figure . Then we weren't abl to go to the house without someone being there when we were already getting the house and you know why?!

We went one day and there was puddles in the basement so we had an engineer come in and the sellers and both agents got pissy from then on .. Well stop trying to hide *** and there would have been no issue! We had to do everything..stay on the lender figure out the paperwork then the closing date was wrong and they had no idea who's fault it was . The agent did nothing but turn on us and side with the seller .

This place is a joke and both agents are from here . They are rude as *** and do nothing!

We might as well have done it ourselves. Northwood check your *** agents because they are wild animals and dumb as ***.

Agent did not listen

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

put in an offer on a home. The agent did not even put the offer in to the sellers.

Also offered us a home inspection company that we do now believe was in with the company. All things this inspector said was nothing to worry about has gone wrong. Totally screwed over we believe on the property and home. Also gave the seller our personal number which we found to violate our privacy since the seller has called us.

Seems once papers were signed the agent has done nothing to help with the addendum items that were in the contract. Once all got there money we were left to deal with not only rude sellers, but to have our privacy violated by giving out personal information to sellers.

I would not recommend using this company for any of your realty needs. I have purchased a home before and have never had things like this happen.

Northwood Agent cost us more money!!

Never buy a home from Northwood!! Agent held on to paper work, that our agent kept reminding her the day before our close she still didn't have it done had to move date, cost us money on our storage, construction fees for moving date.

Also the day before turned in inspection report th at was done 2 months prior so the us the buyer had to pay if we wanted the close, she held it so her seller would not have to pay! Try to contact the President, VP, regional manager, no one returned calls or emails.

She even had an attitude and completely refused to fill out paper work! Literally!

North-wood is the biggest Nightmare I ever went trough, I pray to God that my Nightmare is over soon and that I can get peace back.

My Realtor is the biggest *** ever, doesn't care about anything, I'm thinking about letting Public know about that company.

I never thought that this would happen and therefore they want $ 6 or 7 thousand, it's a ripoff for doing nothing.

From now on I warn everybody I know and give them the name of the guy I had.

I'm going to the same upsetting problem.

the Realtor I'm having from Northwood does not worse a penny, I lost a lot of money because he is not working for me, more worried about getting his *** kitchen done, and now about his wife, he doesn't answer my emails in time or calls me, because he has no time, he is in the hospital with his wife and they really ask for 6 or $ 7.000 dollar for him doing nothing?

Because of him I can't move out of here and the new owner can't move in here.

I'm so upset, they should close their whole office.

Personal Property

We used Northwood Realty to sell our home when we moved from Pittsburgh to Atlanta. We left a small kitchen table and chairs in the house and included in the listing.

Our realtor without our permission went in and removed the table and chairs. We decided to give the items to our neighbor, when he went into the house the furniture was gone. Our realtor claims the table somehow got broken ( it only a year old) and she removed it. In addition to the furniture issue our realtor ordered pumbing services which we paid for at closing without disclosing the cost to us.

I would never, ever recommend using these poeple again. They are a rip off.

A Northwood Realty agent completely ignored a signed addendum.

The buyer's agent requested that we allow her buyer to store some of his belongings in the garage of our home before the closing. We agreed to this and signed an addendum.

The buyer was to have access only to the garage. The agent gave the buyer the key to the house from the lock box. The buyer then completely moved into my house. I was not notified.

I discovered this on a routine check of the house.

This is not only personal violation but, it also opened me up to a whole host of liabilities. This agent totally violated the real estate code of ethics.

Northwood Realty is Simply Terrible

We rented a house through this company for six years. The first three years went just fine.

The trouble began when things began needing fixed (the house was built in 1950s.) Not only did it take this company months to fix things, we began receiving nasty letters in the mail and phone calls at work FROM THE REALTOR, telling us that we were destroying the property. We were told that the carpets (which were several yrs old when we moved in) were supposed to be "spotless," and that the mold in the basement was caused by our doing laundry. The kicker, however, was a letter telling us that we had TOO MANY PICTURES ON THE WALLS. We asked the realtor to specify where in the lease this was stated but were only told that "normal people don't have that many pictures on the walls," and that "common sense" should have told us that.

This was the last straw, a realtor (not the homeowner) telling us how to decorate our home. We terminated the lease three months after and will never use Northwood "services" again.

Northwood realty will not contact me after several emails and phone calls

Northwood Realty will not contact me after several emails inquiring about a property I am interseted in. After calling Northwood I was told that nobody that works there is ever in the office to check their emails.

Well I am pissed I can't believe that a co. supposed to help people buy property can't even give you the courtesy of contacting you!!! Especially in a economy and housing market that is supposed to be so terrible. You would think this co.

would go out on a limb to try and sell a property, let alone ignore you like a vagrant! I would like to file a lawsuit against them!

Why would you file a lawsuit?? Just contact the owner of the property---look up the owner in public records---and explain to him the problem. He needs to know.

Northwood Realty - Indiana, PA, IUP Student Apartment - Do NOT rent from them

My daughter shared an off-campus apartment with 2 other students during her senior year (2007 - ****) at IUP (Indiana University of PA). The apartment was rented from Northwood Realty Services. Despite claims that the apartment was cleaned prior to the start of the school year, the apartment was a disgusting mess when the students moved in. Screens were ripped and the bathroom was filthy. When asked to repair/replace the ripped screens, the realtor replied that the tenants would only rip them again, so why bother? After threatening to withhold the rent payment, the screens were finally replaced. When there was a leak in the apartment, again the realtor refused to spend any money to have a plumber come out, saying the students could do that if they wanted. All in all, Northwood Realty was totally unresponsive to any tenant needs.

At the end of the year, after the students paid to have the carpets professionally cleaned (a requirement of the lease), Northwood Realty withheld $820 of the total $1050 security deposit, claiming that the apartment was left a mess and that the chair in the living room was broken and had to be replaced. The apartment was definitely left in no worse condition than it had been at the start of the year, as was the chair, which had been broken before the students moved in. Unfortunately, since we did not take pictures of the apartment (or the chair) at the beginning of the year, we cannot prove that everything was in poor condition to begin with, so we have lost most of the security deposit.

Do not rent from this company. My daughter had previously lived in a Lazor Brothers apartment at IUP and it was much nicer and the realtor was much easier and better to deal with.
