Still scamming

I run a company called NW Travel in Issaquah Washington and have had run ins with this David Bennett character, who uses the Northwest Travel name in his scams. He used to be operating in Gulfport MS, but now seems to have relocated to North Carolina.

I received a call this morning from a new victim trying to research Bennett and a new partner named Elliott Jenkins. Stay clear of both of these bozos. They are a rip off.

NW Travel has been in business in Washington State since 1984 and have no affiliation with these rip off artists. If it looks to good to be true, IT IS!

Hawaii Vacation Scam - Travel Services/Northwest Travel Services

An ad ran in our local paper classified that read: 2 Roundtrip Airfares to Hawaii $199.00 Each Leave Houston.

The $199.00 is a LIE!

With tax, I wrote a check for $430.00 payable to Delta Airlines. Here's the problem…the $199.00 should have read $599.00 each, after the airlines adds all their fees to it. I was originally told that I could stay in Hawaii for 3 nights and stay at any hotel; however, after they received my money, I was mailed the literature that stated that I have to stay a minimum of 7 nights and can only choose from 3 hotels. Called Delta and they have no record of ever receiving the check.

The company that sold me the tickets took the funds directly out of my checking account via an electronic transfer. The man that sold me the tickets was David Bennett who worked for Travel Services/Northwest Travel Services located in Gulfport, MS. When I purchased the tickets, Mr. Bennett said if I had any questions in the future to feel free to call him any time.

He never once told me that this purchase was nonrefundable. I left him messages every day for a month and he never returned my phone call. A month later, I called and talked to Art Thomas who said he'd see what he could do in refunding my money and I never heard from him again. I have found out that this company is not BBB approved.

So, don't get ripped off as I did.

Do your traveling with a travel agency that is BBB approved and NEVER do business with Travel Services or Northwest Travel Services located in Gulfport, MS. They are a SCAM!!!

They are still at it. They are called Travel Services Aloha Hawaii and also Lake Cable Travel.

Their phone numbers are 1 80* *** **** and also 330 875 ****. The "agent" used the name "Kevin Ramsey" and the "agent" at Travel Services is "Art".

I hope we can ban together and find these terrible people without a conscience and put them behind bars. PLEASE HELP!!

Sorry things have not worked out for you using Travel Services out of Gulfport, MS. We've had good experiences with Art from Travel Services over the last 7 years. Some negotiation is sometimes required, but we were always presented with good options from which to choose. We learned about the $199 deal through the newspaper also and like you discovered how it's not the real cost to fly. However, nothing was hidden about the deal and we are no longer charged for base airline fare for flying to HI. It has saved us $500 to $700 dollars on airfare per trip.

Generally the service they provide meets expectations with a few niceties thrown in such as complementary greeting and concierge service at the airport and champagne in the hotel room.

Regarding non-refundable - our draft itinerary in bold letters always says the deal is non-refundable. This is no different than other discount travel agencies we've used, nor with the individual airlines and several of the 4 and 5 star resort hotels. Art has been able to accommodate changes of schedule after we've booked through them.

Do we use Art every time? No, but we usually give him an opportunity to do the booking because he's proven the ability to plan a good vacation and has a great deal of knowledge he will share on when and where to go, things to do, etc; because he's been to most of the places he books several times.

The one recommendation I'm a little shaky about trying is flying on Spirit Airlines. He's had good experiences and uses them all the time, but too many people are complaining, making me nervous about flying over multiple hops.
