Resolved: Storage Unit Manager Robbed My Stuff and Made Me Cry.
- Auctioned Locker Fox unit at Hawthorne, Eugene.
- I was promised a month free rent and a $29 admin fee.
- Manager yelled and ordered me off after hours.
To whom it may concern, I purchased a storage unit through Locker Fox at an auction they were having. I went and paid for the unit and the manager of the Hawthorne facility in Eugene told me I could have a month's free rent and a storage unit with a $29 admin fee.
That night I went and cleaned out the unit of all the garbage the trash and the things that I didn't want and kept his stuff I wanted because I planned on renting the unit for the admin fee of $29. I stayed after hours not knowing it wasn't allowed. The gate time is from 7:00 am to 10:00 p.m. My personal storage unit as long as I'm in the gate by 10 she doesn't care if I work late in my unit getting ready for yard sales or rearranging.
I work 12-hour days Monday through Friday and I was trying to get as much done with the three units I had purchased from locker Fox in my only two days off I have a week. I assumed I was going to rent the unit the next morning and had to get all of the other units that were close to the vicinity of the one I was going to rent. Well I was in another unit he left a message on my phone telling me that I had until noon to come in there and collect my items or he was going to abandon the unit. When I went in to rent the unit at that point I had no clue that he had left me a voicemail.
I said Hi, I'm here to rent it and he screamed and yelled at me and told me to get the *** off the property. I was no longer welcome there and I needed to leave. I asked him if I could get my things, and why was I being kicked off the property? He said You stayed after 10:00, You broke the rules You get out of here now I am not going to put up with it or I will call the police.
I didn't know that was a rule! I thought the gate hours was 7 to 10 as long as you're in the gate by 10 you can work at the unit as long as you're not living there, spending all your time there or eating and sleeping and the unit. What's the issue letting an auction winner that has two days off a week get in there and get it done? I asked him to please listen to my side of the story, he says, I'm not listening to anything you have to say get the *** out of here and leave now.
You're not getting your stuff and you're not allowed on the property. I was appalled, I was shocked, I was hurt, angry and just started crying. I couldn't believe it. My friend went up to talk to him to find out what was really going on and he locked the door and told him to get the *** off the property.
That's wrong and I should have gotten a warning and let me know the rules about the gate times. The gate times are 10:00 to 7:00 he never told me to be off of the property by 10:00 He still allowed you to exit the gate after 10 why is that if it such an enforced rule your facility can steel my winnings after I got it all cleaned out for you your no good theifs. Not to mention, there was another car in there as well. I'm not sure what he was trying to do but I believe he was trying to rip me off.
I called Northwest Self Storage talked to the district office and they basically said I'm screwed. I do not recommend renting from these people because they're crooks. Trust I will spread the word of what your company did. Word of mouth is a powerful tool and so amazing how many people it will reach.
You keep that unit and the $30 as well as all the stuff I purchased. Then you keep in mind I will post on my Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and any other social media I have about how I was treated and what your company did to me. I might even go to the local news. I sure would like a copy of the email that he wrote you about the situation and I'd like to see what he said about it.
The only thing that I did wrong was stay after hours to try and get the unit cleaned out for you.
And you banished me from the property and stole the items in the unit When I was there we were able to load the truck up and take it with me right then But no no I accidentally messed up and I was human and made a mistake. So with that being said, word of mouth is a powerful tool.

Verified ReviewerMy storage should not be in action
- Paid 2 months in advance for the 10x15; got a close-out receipt but no update.
- Two months behind; please call before any sale of belongings.
Hello, so you guys have my storage up for auction. When I received the 10x15, I paid 2 months in advance. That being said, I received a close-out receipt but did not receive an updated receipt. That being said, from 9/20/24 to 10/20/24 is 1 month, and from 10/20/24 to 11/24/24 is the 2nd month I had paid for. So currently, I am 2 months behind, meaning that as of today, I am due for my next payment, correct? I've had nothing but problems with your company, period, and I had an attorney say the same thing. I've always gotten receipts sent after a payment. What happened to those? He told me I got a close-out one and then I had to wait for my unit because he had to contact you guys. I paid for 2 units prior to the switch into the 10x15 unit. So, in all reality, I had paid for 1 month on two units, then paid 2 months in advance on the unit currently at auction. If you guys sell my belongings, I have grounds to sue. As of now, you guys currently owe me because I was out of both units in two days when I moved into the 10x15. Or, we can call it that I am current with payments and I will not have to pursue with further legal matters. Please call me before my belongings are unlawfully sold.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
- Joke
Preferred solution: We call it even maybe free rent for the hassle or just let me take mastiff and go but have them pay my first month at a new facility
User's recommendation: Take your belongings and go run run never look back
