Northstar Marketing
NorthStar Marketing Scam
North Star Marketing has people going door to door day in and day out with no hourly pay, medical benefits, or paid vacation days and expect you to motivate others to want to do the same in order to be "promoted". They still don't consider themselves a multi-level marketing scheme, but you can judge for yourself.
There is no reimbursement for miles traveled or hours worked since you are working as an independent distributor not an employee of the company. In essence you are your own company and you must learn how to go door to door well enough to teach and motivate other people to want the same.
North Star Marketing is what many consider a revolving door company since they have people join and quit the company every day. To make sure they have fresh faces coming in they spend a large sum on recruiting through the internet. If you look at some of the links provided you will see in many they will post a yearly salary which is a complete exaggeration. The reason for this is because they know if they put the truth about the company they wouldn't have any candidates interested in an interview.

Thanks for the Heads up!
I just wanted to thank all of you out there for the heads up about NorthStar Marketing. I had an interview scheduled for tomorrow, and I will not be attending.
They sound extremely bogus....... It is places like this that just waste the time of people who are really trying to find good, solid, employment. I think that I will give them a visit in the next week or so and tell them what I think about there *** company face to face. I wasted at least 8 hours talking with them about employment, what a waste...
Stay away people, stay away....
Thanks!
NorthStar Marketing in Portland, OR
I have to agree with all of the comments above.
I interviewed for the branch in Portland, OR and it seemed like a scam from the very beginning. The "marketing department" was located in a shady building south of Portland. NorthStar Marketing was not listed on the sign outside even though they have been established in Portland since mid-2007. And they were willing to hire me on the spot if we "fit".
Being a female, I was extremely cautious of this company and did some research before I went back for my second interview. I'm not sure if safety is a concern but if you are a woman, I would not go on the "second all day interview".
I have worked for notable companies across the nation. The interview process for this fake company should send up red flags. Their website alone should warn you to stay away. Nothing is copyrighted.
The Portland (Tigard, OR) branch uses yahoo accounts. That is a huge warning. "Top marketing firms" don't use yahoo accounts. Bottom line.
Beware. Stay away. Protect yourself.
Northstar Marketing in Sacramento CA
To all of those out there in the Sacramento area interested in getting a job with "Northstar Marketing" ... consider it twice..
this is a ghost company!! They presumed in their web-site that they do the marketing for Disneyland, Hyatt and other reputable corporations.. guess what?! They don't!!.
Their office is the most horrible place I have ever been at, the lady at the front desk looked like she had just woke up, the "manager" was the most un-professional individual, as soon as I walked into the room to be interview I told the "manager" that I was not longer interested in the job, she then told me to just go ahead and complete the application, so they can keep me in their system as a non-qualified candidate - Have you ever been asked/told that from an employer?.. not that I know!! - So I filled it out with fake info, when she review it she told me that I had forgoten to write down my SS# and driver's licence, and I told her no I did not.. but you don't need that kind of information, she got really upset and told me that I just had wasted her time (very professional hu?).
When I walked out of the office I check the directory and there was a different company name under their suite number. I don't know what their intentions are (perhaps identity theft).. but I don't want to be part of it. Stay away from that place and if you don't trust me..
do your research online and you won't find any legit records of "Northstar Marketing"..
also compare the information that they have in ther web-site againts what they have in monster.com or other job rearching web-sites. Be smart and don't let them fool you!

I worked for them for 4 years 1998-****. .
While most of what you say is fairly three as it is a commission based sales job. As a salesman you are responsible for earning your own way but they did pay room and board, travel and when I was with them we had company vehicles. I learned very quickly , you either are going to suck at sales or you have enough skin to stick it out after hundred of NOs and doors slammed in your face.
I traveled the USA, did 2 years in Mexico and most the most money I’ve ever made in sales as sales rep manager crew leader eventually. That sucks you had a negative experience but sounds like you have a pretty negative view on rough challenges.
I went on two interviews for NS Marketing. The second interview they told me I would be joining an "account rep" on his appointments that he had with clients that day.
What really happened was that we drove 40 minutes away from the office and got dumped onto the street to sell coupons door-2-door. This not at all what I had been lead to believe that we would be doing in the interviews.
I was pissed and took a cab home after about 20 minutes of it! The cab costed me 60 bucks......so freak'n worth it!!
