Bad customer service.

I order my bedroom set last Sunday the owner told me he gonna give me a call for the delivery Friday he never did and every time I call no one answer the phone, I called him live messages many times he never gets back to me I want to know what is going on with my bedroom set or my money. He is a layer that for sure because he is not honest he doesn't keep his word that is bad customer service I learn my lesson. Next time I will buy my furniture somewhere else and I will not be pissed.

Northeast Furniture Direct: terrible business practices

My wife and I stopped into Northeast Furniture Direct in Stoughton to purchase a dining room set sometime in June. We purchased our furniture that day and that is when everything went wrong.

Once he had our money, all business practices seemed to go out the door. As I've read on this website already, many others have had the same issues we encountered, which I will detail.. We were originally told we would have the furniture on July 31st. Yesterday, September 24th, we received the last pieces of furniture that we were due.

After delaying the delivery for the first time, the furniture showed up with large cracks in the chairs, broken glass in the hutch, and scratches on the tabletop. We immediately called Neal, numerous times and were not able to get him on the phone, with no return calls from the messages we left. After he finally decided to take our furniture back and replace it, he delayed the delivery on the furniture yet again. We had to demand that we receive 2 free chairs for out troubles, and after finally agreeing, he didnt send them.

After a month of numerous phone calls and messages, I was finally able to get a hold of him by calling from a private number. He claimed he never got any calls and no messages... After all this, he had the nerve to be rude during this phone call.

Avoid this business!

NORTHEAST FURNITURE DIRECT STOUGHTON MA

My husband and I have been bedroom furniture shopping for a very long time. We finally found something we both liked. My husband found this company on line, NORTHEAST FURNITURE DIRECT, located in Stoughton, MA. It is a warehouse, not a store and it's by appointment only. We made the appointment and met with "Neal". We ended up purchasing a bedroom set on that day, (November 11th, 2007) and PAID IN FULL with a Discover Credit Card. The total was $ 2,625.00.

It was supposed to be delivered within two weeks. Well two weeks came and gone... no furniture.... We get a call from "Neal" who informs us that the furniture was in however the "headboard" was damaged and asked if we would like the other pieces delivered and the headboard would follow soon after. I stated I would like ALL THE PIECES delivered at the same time rather than wait for the headboard to come on a later date. Well another couple weeks go by with no call, and still no furniture! My husband calls and speaks to "Neal" who advises him that "the truck is coming in tomorrow". My husband told him to call us either way to let us know if the headboard was on it. Neal stated he would... tomorrow came and went and "Neal" never called. My husband calls the business number (that is on the web site and on the business card) and gets a woman's answering machine stating "Hi you've reached Molly, leave me a message"....

We were shocked!!! Then I remembered "Neal" had called my cell phone on the day the headboard came in damaged so I had another number for him... I call that number and also get "hi you've reached Molly"... Stunned that we had been RIPPED OFF I called Discover to advise them of our situation. Over the next couple of days we called back both numbers numerous times from a bunch of different phones..seeing that "Neal" was obviously avoiding us now. My husband had to call and say he was someone else and "make an appointment" then call back to say he was running late to get this "Neal" on the phone. Well the ruse worked Neal thinking he was going to be chatting with a new customer who was running late got on the phone... my husband now furious at this point told him we want our money back... Neal had the audacity to tell my husband we could have the furniture on that following weekend!!!

My husband stated NO we want our money back.. Neal told my husband to have me call with the credit card number so he could issue a credit. I called and very professionally spoke to Neal, gave him the account number and the three digit code on the back (which he requested) so he could process our credit. Immediately after giving him the account number I canceled the account with Discover since fearing what Neal could do with that information. I was advised by Discover the credit could take 5-10 days or so to show and to call back daily to confirm it issued... well the 10th day (12/23/07) and still NO CREDIT so I call back "Neal" who tells me that "it probably didn't go through" and I should just "cancel my credit card". I told him I would meet him there so he can "swipe" the card and give me my money back... he said he would not be available until 12/27. I told him this is gross and he is a liar and he probably never issued the credit 10 days ago and I want my money. He said he was doing it right now while I was on the phone........ now the only option is to wait another 10 days or more for Discover to determine if he actually DID issue it (since he refused to give me cash when I asked) and I have a feeling he didn't!!!!!

Neal is the worse guy to deal, he lies and he is not afraid to get your money and leave you waiting for months.

Furniture arrived in late. Customer did not want to wait.

They received a full refund immediately upon cancellation. Unfortunately in these days of high gas prices, decreasing freight transport companies and changing weather patterns, sometimes shipping furniture in from out of state is delayed.

Northeast Furniture Direct

This place sucks. Do not go there.

Read the other complaint, as it goes into much more detail, but I second every word of it. That guy Neal is a shyster and I wouldn't trust him with a church collection plate. They are happy and helpful up until and once you have paid. Then, it's like you don't exist and never agreed to do business with them.

They won't return phone calls, and have caller ID, so you have to call from a number other than your own, or your call will just be screened and any messages you leave go unanswered. I'm upset with the manner they did business with me, that they completely left me hanging and did not follow through with the deal. I got the mattress and box springs, but the frame never showed up, and it never will. After I told him to quit jerking me around and that this isn't how you do business, he told me I'd be better off buying my own frame.

What a lowlife. All I know is that what comes around goes around, and this guy and his little girlfriend are going to take it hard.

Up the ***.

First of all I have never been to this place and have no opinion on the business. However I feel the need to comment on this comment nonetheless.

When a company is incorporated, which the name indicates, it has to be registered with the town and the state. With minimal inquiry it appears they have been in business and registered for several years. If they were not registered the state would know it by now and they would not be in business. Getting actual facts should be a priority before posting comments.

More importantly, when you order a mattress and/or furniture and it comes it late, it is not a police matter. They have no jurisdiction over it. Any phone inquiry they may have made for you is a courtesy. They really do not have any authority to demand your order be delivered on time.

It is a civil case. Short of the phone call police can do nothing for you regardless of how much you want them to. Encouraging people to contact the police when their orders are delayed, particularly in a business where delays are commonplace, is not only ignorant it is negligent.

I think they have larger issues to deal with than your late delivery. Smarten up.

Unfortunately my mother-in-law purchased a mattress from this crook. It was to be a present for my youngest child. We received the same treatment as the other complaintants ie..he never delivered the mattress and wouldn't take our calls. This guy thinks that he's being clever by not giving out his last name or registering his company with the town and state. I found out his last name and address and asked the Abington Police for help. They contacted Mr. Kearney and he promised to deliver my son's mattress between 10-12 today. When he didn't show, I called him. He stated that he cancelled our order after the police called him. I asked him for proof that he issued a credit for my mother-in-law's Visa and he told me to go to ***.

We are going to follow up with a criminal complaint. The Abington Police were very helpful. If we don't receive our money back I will not stop until this crook is out of business for good.

If you have been cheated by this guy then you should contact the Abington Police right away. You should have the following info:
