Discrimination and racial profiling.

Had a problem with a branch manager in December 2021& the matter has worsened to another level.Lost my credit card three weeks ago and when i call im asked the same questions over and over again like its not me.Its been over three weeks ive still havent received new card after calling over a dozen times!I even call the CEO Adrian on March 26,2022 and stiil no help.North Jersey bank has been discriminating against me and racial profiling since December 2021.Ive complained to the FCI and noticed my attorney.

I had a problem with the branch manager Elisbeth in December 2021& the matter has worsened to another level.Lost my credit card three weeks ago,called and reported it on March 3,2022 and customer service reps asked me the same questions over and over again like im lying!Its actually been over three weeks and still no new credit or an explanation.March 26,2022 9:45 called customer service for the fourteenth time and she couldnt help me she said someone will return my call never happened.I then called CEO Adrian whom i meet in December because of complaints left a message approximately 10:01 and he never returned my call.Ive been a consumer at NJFC union for over a year and Ive been discriminated against and racial profiled because im an African American.Ive made a complaint with the FCI and contacted my Attorneys.

I’m black, first off how can they discriminate and racial profile you over the phone and those peoples that you have mention were never CEO’s at NJFCU and I been a customer for over 18 yrs. Make some sense of all this you talking

Very unprofessional customer service by one individual Ms. Scott in the credit card department, who does not return calls when you leave several messages on her voice mail.

She provides no communication or feed back to situations that needs her immediate assistance, so therefore as a customer you are forced to play cat and mouse with individual. I experienced an issue after making my credit card cash payment to the branch on time and here I am a week later the payment still has not been processed. After getting tired of calling I had to go to the branch myself to see what was the issue, presented my receipt to the teller and he immediately knew why I was there. a few minutes later he returned and the only explanation he provided was the systems where down.

Sorry, that's not an excuse for anyone not letting customers know there was problem with their process for over a week. After requesting to speak with someone, Ms. Scott just happened to be walking in the general area of the greeters desk where I was standing. I ask what happened I called and left messages?

she replies with an attitude didn't the teller tell you what happen? I'm working on your issue now and I didn't return your call or any of the more than 20 other voice mails I got over this issue. Word of advise to your employees..

its definitely not good customer service to say to your customers you don't return their calls especially out in the open where other customers are walking around over hearing your conversations, it shows a lack of professionalism, empathy and curiosity.

Incompitent

I used The North Jersey Federal Credit Union as my mortgage company. I received a good faith estimate for total mortgage payment.

I asked multiple times if calculations were in the ball park. I was assured many times that everything was good and not to worry. On the date of my closing my mortgage payment was $300 more than what was calculated. After I addressed the issue to them,nothing was done to fix their mistake.

I told my mortgage adviser that i was stretching paying the original amount he calculated from the beginning and now i am stuck paying even more.

Turns out he made a mistake while figuring the pmi. Now i am stuck paying for his incompetence.

North Jersey Federal Credit Union: why we hate financial institutions

Without any prior notice last year (2010), the North Jersey Federal Credit Union (NJFCU) Totowa branch I belong to started to charge a paper statement fee: they just sent me my quarterly paper statement one day with the fee already deducted. I decided to let it go, and just try to close my share account with them. I spoke to a teller named Irene, who was supposed to send me an Account Closure form. She took her sweet old time about it and I had to call back a couple of weeks later to get someone else to send me the form...

When I got the balance remaining (supposedly) from my closed account, it was $10 light. I called customer service to ask why that was. They told me that they (again without warning or prior notice) charged me an account inactivity fee of $5 for each of 2 months.

I then called the teller supervisor Lisa Hand at the branch to say that I was not warned about either of these fees in advance. I asked which previous statement cited the paper statement fee that was upcoming, and Lisa Hand named a certain prior statement (which was a lie, because after I got off the phone and checked that prior statement, there was no fee warning...).

She tried to tell me about the "dormancy" fee being in effect since I opened my account 17 years ago. I told Lisa Hand that was not the case for my account: if it were true, I would have been charged that fee a long time ago because I didn't use the account that often. I told her I was willing to let go of the bogus paper statement fee (which is what I felt it was when I was still talking to her, but couldn't yet confirm that fact), as long as I got my $10. Lisa Hand agreed to the $10, and said they would send it out.

I waited for about a month, but nothing came in the mail. I finally called back in to inquire about my money. Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I gave the teller (not Lisa Hand) my name, to identify myself, the teller says that she would then send my $10 check out to me. I got the check 3-4 days later...

I know that the money the NJFCU was trying to take me for wasn't a lot, but I thought the way they acted reflected badly on their business practices. It seems North Jersey Federal Credit Union is into playing games, and making up fees as they go along, and they can't be trusted. Watch your money - via your statements, balance inquiries, etc. - carefully when you bank with them...
