SCAMMERS!!! Please take this as a warning to save yourself money, time, & frustration.
This is about the most dishonest dealership Ive had the displeasure of coming in contact with. I was interested in the 2014 Cadillac CTS (VIN # {{Redacted}}) white in color. I spoke with them and inquired if I could put a security deposit on the vehicle. They advised the security deposit was nonrefundable.
I wanted to get a prepurchase inspection on the vehicle and they advised they would fix anything found in the inspection report. Before putting the security deposit, I sent and email with the agreed upon terms and he agreed so I felt safe putting a security deposit of $500 down.
I was advised that the vehicle had been serviced. Turns out that it was either a lie or their mechanic is completely incompetent. The inspection report found the following.
Evidence of a fresh oil residue is visible around the front valve cover gasket. A diagnostic scan shows the malfunction indicator lamp illuminated with stored code P2097 (post-catalyst fuel-trim system too rich, bank 1); one monitor is not ready. Sunroof shade folds in on itself, preventing sunroof from opening. Further diagnosis is needed.
Computer system scanned: no problems with current or pending codes. No problems with live data. It is possible that some codes might be erased before we arrive, in which case some issues may be hidden. The inspector was unable to drive the vehicle as the dealership claimed they were too busy.
Im guessing they didnt want the car driven as they knew the codes they probably erased would come back once the car was driven. Wasted 10 days of my time + $225 for the inspection.
As agreed, I submitted the inspection report so they could fix the issues. From that day forward no calls, texts or email were received from the dealership. The salesman I was speaking to was not working day, after day, after day, after day.
Each day the person I spoke with said *** be in tomorrow. Day 4 after the inspection report they attempted to push a different car off of me. When I declined to look at another vehicle, they stopped answering my calls for days. One person answered the phone several days later and realized it was me and hung up in my face.
I sent an email requesting a refund as they has failed to honor the agreement and no response.
Guess who will respond to me (THE BANK). I contacted my card issuing bank and did a chargeback to get my deposit back.
Preferred solution: Would love to get back the $225 I wasted on an inspection report.
