Purchased a vehicle with motor damage

In October 2020 my husband and I purchased a 2016 Chevy Silverado from Nimnicht. Our salesman Romeo told us we had a great deal. The truck was sound and in great running condition. Told us that through Nimnicht part of their service was to provide breaks and windshield wipers. After having the truck that we are paying 45,000. 00 for, for 2 months we noticed that there were some issues with the truck. The motor was ticking, there were problems with the shifting in the transmission, the radio would change stations and scroll, the ac would go from cold to hot, the sensors in the tires would show our tire pressure was low, our brakes were catching, and the incline assist would come on a flat surface. We called the service department multiple times and were told they could not check our vehicle and that we could take it to any Chevrolet dealership for the service. We finally after months of trying to take it back to Nimnicht got it into Garber Chevrolet for service. This is the report word for word from Garber: 59772: Customer states the radio keeps scrolling through stations on its own and makes calls on its own: Verified customers concern. Found radio scrolling and randomly selecting stations. Found radio display screen INOP. Removed and replaced radio display screen assembly. Customer states every time they start the vehicle there's a ticking noise: Cause E 406**** Camshaft replacement 59778 verified customers concern. Found a ticking/scraping noise coming from the engine bay area. No codes or misfires present. Found noise coming from valve cover area. Performed a cylinder leak down test on all 8 cylinders. The Leak down test passed less than 10 percent. Next performed cylinder compression test on all 8 cylinders. All passed with 140-150 psi. Next performed cylinder deactivation on cylinder 1 ticking noise was gone but scrapping noise was still present. Then removed both cylinder heads and lifters found lifter roller on cylinder 1 sticking. Also found lifters binding on other cylinders. Inspected camshaft found lobe on cylinder 3 pitted. Removed and replaced camshaft and lifters. Now the above report came from Garber Automall in Green Cove Springs Florida. This tells me that I was sold a truck that was not certified. When, we contacted Nimnicht about the issue we were told to bring it in. The people at Nimnicht were very rude. The service manager Matt was condescending and treated us as if we were idiots. They kept my truck until yesterday March 9, 2021. To tell me that there was nothing wrong with my truck. My husband spoke with the sales manager Mark about getting rid of the truck and getting another vehicle he said we needed to come in and talk to him. So, we picked the truck up and went straight to Mark. Who then sent us to the salesman who sold us the truck Romeo. They have another truck there, instead of putting us into that truck they tried to sell us that truck but make us keep the current garbage truck. The salesman then, while outside with us heard the motor ticking and scraping. All he could say was its under warranty take around to service. I then told him that I had just picked the truck up from service and was told there was nothing wrong with my truck. This is the worst dealership and the vehicles are not certified. When a 2016 truck with 50,000 miles has engine issues from the start that's a problem. They do not want to make it right. So they have given us no choice but to contact an attorney about the situation.

  • Sell cars that are not mechanically safe
  • Are rude
  • They

Preferred solution: The company should pay off this truck and put us in a new truck worth the value at the payments we have now.

User's recommendation: I would tell anyone not to go to Nimnicht

Unsatisfactory Service

This is a complaint about a dealership. A friend I know purchased a car from Nimnicht Chevrolet at 1550 Cassat Ave in Jacksonville, Fl. This friend took this car back in for repairs and was told by the sales person Nimnicht Chevrolet would give her a loaner car until they finish repairing her car. This agreement happens early Monday on 04/03/2017. We went to lunch and rode around waiting to receive a call from Nimnicht to pick up her car because it is ready or come and get the loaner car that was promised, From 3pm to 5;30 she made calls to Nimnicht to find out what they were going to do. Their phone was answered one time and that person put her on hold until the phone went dead. I took her home and I could see the tears in her eyes. She paid cash for a car and they want even answer the phone. She needed transportation so we agreed that I would furnish transportation for her Monday and Tuesday for $75.00 per day. She was sure she would get her car Tuesday. Tuesday came and she could not get anyone at Nimnicht Chevrolet to answer the phone. Then I advised her to see an Attorney. Taking her to all her functions which some were at night at her church is worth more than $75.00 a day. I was her transportation 24 hours a day and that was a headache. I filed a report on April 06, 2017 with The Better Business Bureau and they did absolutely nothing. April 09, 2017 I took it upon myself to notify Nimnicht Chevrolet. I explain how ugly their service are and I am complaining because Nimnicht is using me to do what their loaner car supposed to do. I also explained to them my charges and for doing what they silently forced on me. I planned to notify the Federal Trade Commission and everyone with connection to the auto industry. These unsatisfactory and ugly services they rendered caused me to be used by Nimnicht Chevrolet. I am very unhappy about this. The complaint is being handled by the dispute center listed below. Nimnicht Chevrolet - Customer Care Review

I went to nimnicht Chevrolet on march 4th 2017 to purchase a vehicle. When I did find the vehicle I did my paperwork payed my money and was prepared to leave with the vehicle. Upon finishing up I was told that my vehicle had not been inspected and I could not drive it off the lot until the inspection was done. I was asked if I had full coverage insurance because I would have to be put in a loaner due to the fact that they were about to close and they would not be open on Sunday. I agreed and said that I will be back Monday to pickup my vehicle. Upon my return I was greeted by a sales associate who then told me that my vehicle was not ready yet. I said ok and waited over an hour before being told that they could not sale me the vehicle. At this point I am pissed because I have waited and waited and waited just to be told that I would not be leaving with my car. Let me remind you that this was the pickup date for my car and I was driving their loaner car to pick it up. Not only was I disappointed that I couldn't get the car that I had paid for and waited on for two days, but I had to find a way home because I was stranded at a dealership who promised me that my car would be ready on a specific date. My main issue with this dealership is the rudeness of the manager by the name of Cornelius. I called this dealership after calling my bank to see if my refund had been credited to my card and they told me no nothing was ever credited back to my card. I Hung up with the bank and called the dealership the lady cindy who handles these kind of things was not in so I was transfered to the manger. The manger could not give me any information he was rude told me he would call me back and hung up the phone in my face. At this point I am livid. He did end up calling me back his demeanor had not changed I was told to come pick up a receipt when I asked for a tracking number or something to give to my bank I was told he did didn't have that information and hung up on once again. I'm not sure what is going on at this dealership but this manger is out of line.
