Charged $74 95 for one search
Cancelled immediately after that one search and so far have been unable to get reimbursed. I was only trying to find my brother in law.
charged $74.95 for one search,, cancelled immediately.
I was just trying to find my brother in law to let him know that, his brother, my husband had just passed away that my husband had passed away two days before I used the search. You would think they would reimburse that.

Buyer beware dealing with this site.
In August 2020, I agreed to subscribe to Newspaper Archives websites for one month.
Due to the tragic events of Hurricane Laura that came on Lake Charles on 8-26 which kayoed my computer, I was not able to contact them via email to stop charging me the $20 fee since they assumed that I was still on their subscription list.
I was shocked to learn that the company charged me $20 for the months of September and October.
I did contact them asking for a refund. So far they only answered me that they are sorry for my tragic event. But no refund yet.

I WANT A COPY OF THE COVER OF, THE NEW YORK POST, MARCH 19, 1970.
I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO GET A COPY OF THIS COVER PAGE.
I BELIEVE IT IS THE EARLY EDITION.
Cancelled Trial 1st Day, Still Charged, No response from Company
I finally obtained a phone number and called customer service. The Lady was very nice and cancelled the subscription and also refunded my money.
She was empathetic, understanding, apologetic and she addressed my issue without making me feel like it was my fault.
Perfect recipe for great customer service. Maybe Comcast should follow this model!
I signed up for a free trial of Archives.com. That same day they sent me an email saying that I would be getting an email from NewspaperArchives.com about my free trial.
I did not sign up for the NewspaperArchive trial and thought that my card had been compromised. So I went in immediately and cancelled my free trial and subscription to Archives.com. I never received any email from NewspaperArchives so I had no idea there was still a subscription open with them. I received an email stating that my card would not go through when they tried to charge me.
It stated in the email that to contact them all I needed to do was respond to the email or go to a link. That link was to Archives.com login. Of course it would not let me login unless I started another free trial and when I tried to get my password I could not because it said my email address was not on file. So I sent an email to them telling them that I cancelled my other trial and never signed up for their service.
No answer. A week later I get a confirmation email telling me that my credit card was successfully charged 46.99 for their subscription service. I have sent at least 7 emails to them with no response at all. I am planning to go to my bank and have this place investigated by the State Attorney General.
Something weird is going on here.
They have no problem sending emails to you regarding billing, which means they have my email address so I should be able to login to the site to get customer service contact info. Yet according to the site I am not a member.
Newspaper Archives - over-billed
I had been a subscriber of the Newspaper Archives for several years. I had several somewhat minor issues with them over the years but overall, I was pretty much content with their product.
However this last year when billing time came, they tried to bill me, a returning customer, $119 when new customers only paid $72. Can anyone tell me the logic in this??? And the other billing issue is that if you wanted to keep your account from being automatically billed for a new year, you had to contact them near the end of your subscription. I contacted them several times to cancel well before the renewal came but they didn't answer any of my emails.
Instead they BILLED me $119 for a new year. Fortunately, I guess I complained well enough so they refunded my $119 and cancelled my account.
Now I notice that if I join again, I'll only be billed $72 for the year, not $119. Am I missing something here???

I posted an update but it doesn't look like it went through. I called a number my bank gave me and they fixed everything and gave me a refund. So if you have issues call the Archives.com phone number
