Dealership deceit
- 2017 Challenger (3,993 mi) certified; touchscreen didn't work.
- Dealer kept $6,000, misrepresented financing, and I paid travel costs, car is 480 miles away.
I called the Florida dealership new Smyrna Chevrolet about a vehicle they posted on TrueCar that was a 2017 challenger with 3,993 miles, it was listed as certified and the salesperson assured three times it was perfect shape.i took off work to fly in to see it, at first the radio didn’t get any stations, another employee said it was just the reception, it wasn’t until a moment after signing and leaving a deposit that I realized ( between the vehicle itself and other sales people in office) that the whole onboard 8.4” touchscreen computer ( which controls a tone of functions on that particular vehicle) wasn’t working at all! I quickly told them they hadn’t told the truth on that car and it was traded in like that and I’m not driving 9 hours home with it not working and no radio.
They said “ too bad” and for me too drive it back to Tennessee and have it fixed myself!
They kept $6,000 of my money (also lied about me getting financed through my own bank) and I had to pay $106 to Uber , spend the night and pay $ 219 for a flight home! They have the car on they’re lot 480 miles away

Update
Incredibly disgusting.
So in June 22, 18 I rolled in at 8 AM to new Symrna Chrysler for what I thought was warranty work on an exhaust system that was replaced due to the negligence of another dealer who destroyed my vehicle in a DPF regeneration overheat, everything from the intercooler back to the DPF was fully replaced, total cost was $17,000. One year later I have an exhaust leak should be covered right? So we go to new Smyrna Chrysler to have them look at it. By Late afternoon close to 4 o’clock I get a call saying it’s costing me almost $900 and the explanation was the part was not warranted, it was a clamp or gasket or something. Then they want to charge me for and analyze fee which I don’t do anymore. Disgusted I rolled up the street to the muffler man, he looked at it and said that it appeared the clamp worked itself loose so, I came back the next morning June 23, 8 AM checked in with them got an Uber ride home, no sooner did I get home I got a call and said the truck was done. Apparently the original repair mechanic put the clamp on incorrectly and the vibration up against my transmission bell housing work the clamp loose causing the exhaust leak and subsequent codes that kept coming up as a result.
I really need to warn the public that this is not the first time this is happened with a Chrysler dealer where they can’t simply honestly say your clamp is loose lets tighten it up, instead they want to replace an entire part that does not need replacing so as to get another thousand dollars out of me. This is a common practice with Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram. And I think these people need to be called out for it, as I learned the service advisors are on commission so they have all the incentive in the world to overcharge me with parts I don’t need so as to make that Commission $900 rather than being honest and saying you just got a loose clamp let’s tighten it up.
So I’d like to recommend the muffler man repair shop In New Symrna and thank them for being honest mechanics. Also anyone who is a victim of this abuse at the hands of New Symrna chrysler should contact the better business bureau online and the state attorney general at (954) 712-****.
Hope this helps
