I was told my delivery would be made on Friday between 10am and 5pm. I am not a fan of the "whole day" thing, because it keeps you from being able to do anything.
None the less, i was going to remain home while family went out for a day trip. At 2 minutes to 10am i receive a call from a CS representative telling me that a driver didn't show up, and they would not be able to deliver today. Obviously being very agitated since I was not able to go on the day trip with my family because i was waiting home for a shipment, i asked the rep when the delivery was going to now be made. I said, "Now i am going to sit home on Monday hoping that you will make the delivery, and that may not happen either", The representative just sat quiet and didn't respond.
When i asked if she was still there, she didn't respond for another 10 seconds or so, then she said she is there. I asked her about waiting on Monday and it not being delivered again and she started screaming, "WHY DID YOU JUST CURSE AT ME!!", then went on and on to her coworkers "Did you hear what he just said to me...". I told her, i hope the call is recorded because there was not one curse. She proceeded to hang up.
When i called back, i got someone. I asked to speak to a manager and she said "A what?", i said Manager, m-a-n-a-g-e-r and she hung up.
The customer service is very low class. Seems like they have little to no training, or standards.

WORST SERVICE EVER
They were supposed to deliver but the office failed to give the driver the correct telephone number so they skipped our delivery came back that day and the pallet broke. Never had so many issues with a shipping company before, will never recommend them to anybody.
They might be cheap but You’re paying for that exact service. Maybe if they had correct employees that know how much weight a pallet could handle my shipment would have been here somewhat on time.
POOR SERVICE IF ANY !!!
Been waiting for delivery of a shipment that has sat at the cinnaminson terminal now fo 9 days an i am only maybe 80 miles from there, everyday the delivery date keeps getting extended another day or 2 every day i check it. Should hav just picked the item up myselffeom where it origionally started and i would have had it 2 weeks ago, trying to set up so i can just pick it up at there terminal if i can ever get an answer, i am very dissatisfied to say the least !
Poor customer service
New Penn acquired our mortgage from 360 mortgage on July 3rd 2018. We requested a limited lien release on 10 July 2018.
After 3 months we still have not received any action against this request and all of our phone calls go unanswered.
We are now left with nothing else to do but contact the state Attorney General's office and levy a complaint against this cut-rate company.
This is by far the worst service I have ever had from a Mortgage company and the sad thing is that I had no say in their buying my mortgage away from 360 Mortgage. I would hate to have to refinance my loan just to be rid of them as rates have increased since we first mortgaged the property but I will if nothing is corrected.

Wort most unreliable service
The dipatch and terminal operators set up delivery appointments. Then the freight never shows up. You wait, call get updates and they still never make the delivery appointment. They tell you the driver is behind and it will be there in an hour. I an hour they tell you another hour. Then they just never show up.
I called several times, make an appointment, they say they are coming then do not show up. One delivery they did this 3 times. Not until I scream and yell to thy make the delivery.
This is the second time. Yet again with another delivery they just did it again.
This is the worst trucker. They lie to you. They are rude. Hopefully they will soon be out of business and all on unemployment. Can you tell I am angry and fed up!!!
DO NOT EVERY USE THESE LYING LOOSERS!!
- Lie and do not show up

Unreliable liars.
My package is over a week late. I’ve paid installation people and taken off of work 4 consecutive days because these lying horrible humans keep telling me the package will arrive at 1 pm then 4 pm then 6 pm everyday.
They are the worst in the whole entire world.
You’re better off dragging your package with a rope on foot.
Unless you love being lied to and treated like an absolute piece of *** trust me run away now.
I don’t care if they offer you a $1 rate. It’s truly not worth it, I’m telling you better off on foot.
Still waiting on package
We purchased something online. We paid the supplier on 09/10/18.
New Penn picked up our package on 9/11/18. They still have it and keep telling me that it is going to be transferred to another company to be delivered to me. I'm still waiting for it to be transferred, delivered or whatever it is that they are going to do with the package. Every time I call, I'm given a different story of what they are doing with the package.
First it was a transfer, then New Penn was going to deliver it from another location and now it's being transferred to another shipper. I have a customer who has been waiting 3 weeks now for this item. I'm totally frustrated.
Customer service couldn't care less. Never again.
Harder than it needs to be
Apparently new penn is a sister company of Holland. Holland never gave new penn my phone number, so my package has been sitting in their warehouse for a week now until I tracked it down myself.
Are they that stupid they can’t figure out how to contact someone? On top of that I scheduled delivery they give me an eight hour window. Come on I got to waste my whole day for these idiots? Then they tell me the driver won’t bring the package up the driveway, are you kidding me?
What are they going to do leave it out on the trash? So I says I’ll pick it up. I was told the shipper has to contact them and give them permission. Now I have ID With the name and address that is being shipped to on it.
I’ve never seen a company operate like this in my life. New penn is a joke!!!
Lost equipment never reimbursed
Recently, our company shipped a repaired centrifugal blower worth nearly $ 5,000 via New Penn from Syracuse, NY to our customer in Florida.
They handed it off to another freight line, and it was lost.
I filed a claim for the value of the equipment, and was reimbursed $ 100.
They claim that their tariff for used equipment is limited to reimbursement at 50 cents a pound.
I asked if that meant that if I shipped a used Corvette worth $ 100,000 and weighting 2500 pounds and they lost it , they would reimburse me $ 1250 and their answer was YES !!!
They offer optional insurance that will pay up to $ 5.00 a pound. That would amount to a maximum of $ 12,500 for a $ 100,000 loss !
Stay away from these people. Poor service and legalized thievery, as they never disclose these terms when they accept your freight !

Lied to 4 days in a row
New Pan was contracted to ship products I purchased from Pennsylvania to Connecticut. I was given a delivery date of December 23rd here it is December 285 phone calls later and still no delivery the ProvidenceRhode Island terminal Is run so poorly that I'm surprised they have the moral compass to find their own vehicles in the parking lot on the way home at night.
I contacted the manufacturer of the items I purchased to tell them about the shipping fiasco and new penn terminal even lied to them Concerning the shipment in question.
I will never at any time ever contract New Penn Motor Carrier to deliver my lunch much less anything else. Dan Espo Connecticut.
Straight up lied!
I set up a delivery for between 1 - 4 on 11 July. I had to take a half day off of work to make sure that I was there for the delivery.
Package never arrived. When I called they simply said "it didn't make it on the truck today." When I asked why, their answer was "I don't know." Set up a shipment for the following day, again no package. Called again and was told "we lost it. we'll call you when we find it." WORST company i've ever worked with.
The guy I talked to even said at one point that stewartstown (where I live) was really far for them to to. THEN DON'T TAKE THE JOB EINSTEIN!!

New Penn - Express Delivery Service Review
I had a supplier ship a consignment through New Penn. They charged me extra for liftgate delivery and inside delivery.
The consignment came in yesterday and they did not have a liftgate facilities on that truck. The consignment is 175 lbs, the driver asks me to help him in unloading, I said I have medical condition which does not allow me to do so. He was rude and used slang language and took the consignment back. The next day had a conversation with them at 9 am and the lady said the truck will be there positively by 10 am.
Since 10 am I am being promised several times that the truck will be here in 5 or 10 mts. It's already past 11 am and they feel offended when you call them.
Worst transport company that I have dealt with. I would not recommend them to any body.
New Penn Motor Express, Freightquote.com, botched freight shipping, damage, overbilling
I am uncertain seeing this now if it\'s listed correctly- this complaint is NOT about Kitsch-n-Kaboodle. Looks like it was improperly listed. This complaint is about New Penn Motor Express specifically.
I would like to add that Freightquote did finally reverse the excess billing and fixed my account. I am actively shipping with them again and have not had any other problems since. I stay away from New Penn and Estes, both of whom I have had problems with, when booking on FQ.
For those who commented below saying they \"covered their bases\"- this comment overlooks one important fact: the lack of customer service. If you read the original complaint carefully, you will see how I clearly stated that I was ignored and that each company blamed the other.
The consignee signing off on the shipment is totally irrelevant in this regard. Both companies still owe their customers a certain level of customer service and have an obligation to the consumer to follow up on any issue brought to their attention, without simply passing the buck to someone else.
What I can say is that Freightquote did finally respond to my satisfaction, took responsibility for the issue, and provided excellent customer service to fix the problem on my end. As far as I know, New Penn has never addressed the issue.
As to signing off on the delivery receipt and inspecting the shipment, that carries no weight in the case of concealed damage- again, read my original post. Inspecting it does not reveal the damage, and it is not reasonable to expect the consignee to completely unpack it while the driver is present.
Legally, the signature on the delivery receipt would not be enough to cover the shipping company. If it ever went to court, that would be thrown out. The shipper\'s claim that it absolved them would be unenforceable, because the consumer would have to have a reasonable opportunity to know of the damage. That did not exist here, because it was contained inside the box. A signature on the delivery receipt only covers visible, external damage, where the receiver can be expected to reasonably be aware and notice it.
And further if you read the original post again, note that they did award for the concealed damage, but that they used the incorrect valuation of the goods in doing so- instead of awarding 1/3 the value, they had awarded 1/3 of 1/3, because the claim was processed requesting 1/3 to begin with. Their snafu, not the consignee\'s.
It\'s a shame that people always blame the customer or the seller in these cases, when the shipping carrier should have simply taken better care of the goods.
As to the bizarre reweigh issue, I was never able to ascertain the reasoning behind it. It appeared to simply be a paperwork error on the part of New Penn staff, for which Freightquote unfortunately ended up absorbing most of the cost, as far as I know. I don\'t have the particulars of how they may have resolved it between them, but my own company Kitsch-n-Kaboodle was eventually released from the improper, incorrect charges. Thanks to Freightquote for setting this right for me.
I hired New Penn through an intermediary freight shipping agent called Freightquote.com to ship goods I sold to customers through my website.
They badly damaged the 1st shipment. I submitted a damage claim. Just after I did so, New Penn reweighed the next shipment, already in their possession at that time, for nearly 3 times more than it actually weighed, causing me a bill 3 times higher than the original quote. I pack all of my items myself, and I have shipped this type of item many times over the years. I know the weight was correct on the original quote.
What's more is that if I had shipped this item alone, without another item, the one I more frequently ship chairs with would not even accept it at the weight they claim it was. It would max out my common shipping by twice their weight limit, and I have shipped them so many times before with this other shipper. That proves New Penn's records have been falsified.
The damaged shipment was delivered on a pallet by use of a mechanical liftgate, which I did not order & is very unusual to receive without ordering or authorizing. I discovered from the customer this was done to mask or disguise the damage under another box, pallet, & wrapping. They must have noticed something was wrong with this article when they put it on that pallet that way. Yet they delivered it and left before the customer was able to take it off the pallet to check it.
Upenn then used that as an excuse to pay a lesser amount of the claim- they only pay 1/3 the value on 'concealed' damage. They then offered even less of the value- only $83 of the actual damage value of the goods, which should have been $253 by their own calculations (shipment valued at $760) because the item is permanently and irreversably comprosmised. I had been asked for a repair estimate, in theory to justify the expense of paying the 1/3 value at $253. Instead of paying the 1/3 of the total item value, which is still compromised once repaired, they would only pay 1/3 of the repair expense! Repaired or not, the item is not how it was.
It gets worse....
While the claim was in progress, they were already transporting that second shipment, which was then reweighed & overcharged only after I submitted a claim for the first damaged shipment. Due to the obvious error of the information on New Penn records I suspect it was a reaction to my filing for the damage claim.
I complained to both Freightquote & New Penn about the overcharged false weight on shipment #2, which is all the more obvious because it contained two matching items, one of extremely long length at only 120 pounds, the second that was reweighed from its actual weight of 80 lbs to 260 lbs, even though it is 1/3 the size of that preceding 1st matching item. How can widget-x have a weight 3 times heavier than widget-y that is a 3 times larger version of x?
You have a sofa. You have a chair. A sofa is 3x longer than the chair. How can you justify billing me for the chair at twice the weight of the sofa? Even a New Penn rep agreed the billing & weight records looked inconsistent & erroneous, yet no one will fix it.
I have asked for help from Freightquote.com so many times to no avail. A service rep specialist was helping me and promised to credit me for the overcharge on the reweighed shipment, yet she put the wrong amount in. The credit she put on the account only reduced the bill by about 30%. I am still being billed (and about to go into collections) for a bill twice as high as I was quoted, for excess weight they did not deliver. Freightquote does not respond, and at one point told me they can't change what New Penn gave them. And New Penn told me I have to take it up with Freightquote. Same song & dance about the damage. They both tell me to take it up with the other company.
Meanwhile I have no choice but to refund the customer the shipping charges for the damage, while Freightquote closes my account and puts me in collections for the same $. And I have sent a check for the original amount of the reweighed second shipment, which freightquote won't cash and is also sending collections notices for.
I strongly feel these two companies are taking unfair measures to prevent payment of damaged shipment service failures, & subsequently overbilling their customers to cover their losses.
I am a professional and have been shipping large goods and furniture via freight for over 10 years and have never witnessed a case like this with any other company.
