We have had the most horrific experience with this moving company - DO NOT USE THEM.

We went through our whole inventory list with the New Leaf Moving rep, Brandon Young. After going through all of our belongings with him, he advised us that we would need 452 cf of space for our move from CA to GA.

This would accommodate 60 boxes and all of our furniture for $3100.

When the movers arrived, it was not New Leaf that arrived but a different moving company called New Future Moving. It turns out New Leaf is a broker, not a mover; something we were never told. The rude foreman then proceeded to look over our stuff, and quote us $5700 on top of the $1200 we had already paid as a deposit to New Leaf Moving. This brought our total to $6,900, not $3,100 as Brandon had originally said.

When the movers finished, they had left a significant portion our belongings behind saying that we had already filled up our allotted 452 cubic feet of space.

The only thing that was packed were our boxes - none of our furniture was loaded, which was included in the original quote.

When the movers arrived in GA with our belongings they said they couldnt make it to the front of the apartment so we would have to pay an additional $2k or rent our own Haul to move our belongings in ourselves.

After much back and forth with New Leaf Moving, they connected us with New Future Moving, and said New Future would pay us a settlement of $899.25 if we didnt post any bad reviews or pursue litigation. We signed an agreement, and were told that in 21 business days we would receive our compensation of $899.25.

We signed that agreement on 3/10/22. As of today it has been 97 business days and we have received nothing.

New Future Moving now appears to have gone out of business and is not responding to us, and New Leaf Moving has stopped responding to us and is washing their hands of any responsibility.

This whole setup is a scam, and made the already stressful experience of moving cross country 10 x more stressful and expensive. Please do not go through what we went through and do not use New Leaf Moving for your move.

SCAM, AVOID AT ALL COSTS

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
New Leaf Moving Group - SCAM, AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

Many problems with this broker:

1. I was quoted $7,000 and when the moving company they contracted (Jackson Movers) arrived, they said it was an underestimate and that it would be $10,700.

How a 1 bedroom, 1,000 sqft condo can go from 650 to 1,000 cubic feet of mostly lightweight Ikea furniture is beyond me, however, I had to sign a new contract and new estimate with Jackson Movers or they would not complete the move. I asked the movers to measure or weigh my belongings, however they refused to do so. My schedule was too tight and it was too late of notice to argue, so I signed and allowed them to load the truck. I later complained to New Leaf and no follow-up was performed until it was time for delivery and I made a second complaint.

They submitted and inquiry but I am waiting to see if they will refund me for the gross overestimate.

2. I was originally told by New Leaf that I would have a smaller truck pick up and deliver my belongings (as opposed to a semi truck). A smaller truck did come for loading. However, after pickup Jackson movers later transferred my things into a semi truck.

They could not deliver to my new address because of the size of the semi and charged me an additional $1,000!!! I called New Leaf to resolve the issue and they did NOTHING about it. They said it was up to the discretion of the driver. However, I spoke to my leasing office who confirmed that semi trucks had delivered to the address before!!

Jackson Movers would not release my belongings until I paid IN FULL BEFORE UNLOADING IN CASH OR MONEY ORDER. THIS IS A SCAM. They make you pay this way because they are holding your belongings hostage and know you will pay whatever they ask and won't be able to contest the charges!!!

3. I was initially told my New Leaf that delivery process would start prior to the time I arrived at my address so that the spread (Estimated delivery date) would be 5-7 days after that.

THIS WAS NOT COMMUNICATED TO THE MOVING COMPANY. When the new contract was created, they said that first date of delivery was the time the move would initiate, not when it would arrive, which put me back 5 days I was sleeping on the floor in an empty apartment!!

4. Customer service DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.

They do not care to resolve any issues, They will only refer you to statements in the contract THAT WAS SIGNED UNDER DURESS. They do not care what was promised to you, how to improve or make it better, and if you refuse to PAY EVERYTHING UP FRONT IN CASH, they will keep all of your things and THREATEN TO CHARGE YOU FOR STORAGE AND RE-DELIVERY.

Scammers, not a professional moving company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
New Leaf Moving Group - Scammers, not a professional moving company

This is the quote that I was originally given by John Campbell in the amount of $8,958.16. And I had already paid a deposit of $3,468 for the original quote of $8,958.16.

However, the day of my move (6/23/2022), New Leaf did not honor the original quote and instead wanted to charge me $17,000 with two separate reductions down to $15,666. After I refused the $15,666, the movers who may not have even been affiliated with the New Leaf company as they stated they were from PROSPERITY or something similar. The foreman himself came with a Tesla and 3 workers came with a very small UHaul truck knowing I had a 20x20 storage unit, foreman called his boss and reduced it to $14,000 and change. I refused it again since it was not the original written quote given by New Leaf.

The foreman that came to the storage unit today, asked for money order or cash. I refused their services. Shortly after I got an email from New Leaf stating that my deposit will be forfeited because Im canceling the move. I replied to their email by explaining why I was refusing their services.

Soon after I responded to their refusal email, I realized that they deleted my original contract. I was no longer able to access my original contract by clicking on the link that was provided to me by the New Leaf. Earlier, I had taken a screen shot of first page and am keeping it as a proof. I have all the proof that what New Leaf is doing is completely illegal.

Looking at reviews online carefully, I realized that many people have been scammed. They put customers in desperate situation and then up their price on the day of the move. What New Leaf is doing is fraudulent and I hope they get caught for ripping people off.

Please do not trust New Leaf with your hard earned money. Thank you for reading this

AWFUL MOVING COMPANY- DO NOT USE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

DO NOT BOOK THEM FOR A MOVE!! It was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a moving company.

Customer service was awful and we ended up having to pay over DOUBLE what we were initially quoted. Sorry for the long winded review but if you want more details- read below!

We booked New Leaf Moving company back in November of 2021 for a move in May 2022 After giving an inventory of our home along with square footage and estimated number of boxes, the representative we spoke to gave us a quote of $7000 for 1100 cubic feet in a 26/28 foot truck. On the initial call, we expressed concerns about the size of the truck for our home - he said not to worry about it, these are professional movers who know how to pack a truck well.

After finalizing our move date in early 2022 we called the company back to schedule the pick up and again - expressed concern about the size of the truck and wanted to add items to our inventory list. The customer service agent promised they would call the week of the move and inventory our belongings again and would be able to adjust the truck size if needed.

We also emailed on May 3 and called (2 weeks before the move) with updated items and documentation including photos inventorying every piece of furniture we have in the house and never got a response via email. The representative on the phone said the updated number of items wasn't a big deal and they would call the week of the move to update them with all the inventory.Once we did update the company, the cost of the move doubled from $7000 to $13,800. The fact that the cost DOUBLED is absurd! We gave you our home square footage, number of bedrooms etc, and knew there was a chance the price would increase if more items were added which is obviously why we said something months prior - and we were not given an updated estimate.

Had we known this would be the cost, 2 months out, we would have cancelled the move and found a different company. Since we were given this updated price less than 24 hours before pick up- we had no choice but to move forward with you guys for the move.

On the day of the move, my husband called new leaf expressing concern AGAIN once the truck arrived saying that it didn't seem large enough. A customer service rep said that the truck had more room than what they quoted us so it would be fine. After the movers loaded up the truck as best they could - they were still unable to pack a good portion of our items - over $1000 worth of furniture/belongings.

Another issue - When the movers arrived at the house - there were only 2 people, it was supposed to be a 6 person crew.

It took them over 14 hours to pack up our house. They didn't finish until after midnight.

To say we are upset is an understatement.

The move was a complete NIGHTMARE! DO NOT BOOK NEW LEAF MOVING COMPANY!

They deceived me and lied repeatedly

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
New Leaf Moving Group - They deceived me and lied repeatedly

Truly horrific experience with their sales and customer service teams. They employ deceptive and aggressive sales tactics to try to get folks to sign a contract and make your downpayment which is 50% of quoted moving cost.

Once they have our money we started realizing that something is off.

style="background-color:

When I went cancel, the sales guy (Steven) literally started screaming at me. Later I asked to speak to the manager, Jared Perkins, and who magically had the exact same voice as Steven. He started talking to me about why I shouldn't cancel, promising me things that were not legit, and sent me some emails with information to back it up. Funny enough, he sent them from Steven's email account.

Realizing his mistake, he sent it again with his Jared account. Too late. When I told him we wanted to cancel, despite his lame and high pressure tactics to get us to stay, "Jared" started yelling at me the same way Steven.

Wow.

Luckily, we were able to stop payment on the ACH before it went through. Please do yourself a favor and go with someone else.

Horrible moving company. Do not trust them.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. It started off with a bait and switch tactic from a salesman on the phone (David Eagan).

We were planning a last minute move and he gave us a wonderful price to get from Cleveland, OH to Charlotte, NC. The quote was $2400. He gave us this estimate on how much stuff wed have based on us telling him what we would be packing up. He never physically saw our stuff.

On our verification call, we told them AGAIN how much stuff we would have. Upon arrival (one day late) of the movers, they said we had about four times the amount of stuff they quoted us as having and we would need to pay for the additional space. It ended up being over 5 grand more than our original quote. The movers that came to our house were a completely different company (New Leaf never told us that) and the man in charge lowered my price to pay the moving company and forced me to pay him directly via Zelle so he could profit more and the moving company less.

He also forced me to leave my house (I was alone) to pick up water and Gatorade for his team. He then forced me to leave again to go to a bank to get cash out for his team (2 teenage boys) for a tip. They made me feel extremely uncomfortable and taken advantage of. They left and I contacted New Leaf and they were no help- they even belittled me by saying I shouldnt have done those things.

They didnt offer any solution. We were then given the run around for weeks about when our stuff would be delivered.

A completely different truck and movers came to drop off our stuff - they were hired by the company that New Leaf hired so we are now dealing with 3 different companies. Many items arrived damaged and we have an entire XBOX One missing, along with 1-2 large boxes.

Doubled Price vs Original Quote

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I live in a 2/2 apartment and was moving from the Bay Area to Texas. I explained that I wanted packing services and gave them a pretty thorough inventory.

I was quoted roughly $7000 and paid a deposit. Their quote was in line with two other moving companies.

Mistake number 1: They source out the move to local movers and therefore do not send someone out to dial in the quote. They have no clue how many boxes you'll actually need.

They called me the week of the move where I added a 2 mirrors, a television, and a few picture frames. My quote went up to $10k.

I didn't get a good description on why 90% of my possessions is $7k but these few items are an additional $3k. Either way, I paid the difference in the deposit and moved on. I didn't exactly have any other options at this point.

Fast forward to the day of the move. I had someone that was contracted from New Leaf show up and immediately tell me the move will cost $15k.

I (again) had to pay the half of the deposit. I was obviously livid. The only reason they gave is that there's packaging services, and what it'll cost. New Leaf gave me a $400 discount after I called.

Overall though, I had no choice.

So overall, they did an internal investigation and found nothing wrong (obviously). They claimed that I had more boxes than originally quoted, took up more space on the truck, etc. I'd argue that they need to do a significantly better job on front end quotes. They misquoted by half!

They also lost a box of OTC medicine. By weight I'm sure I'll get reimbursed 5% of the value.

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Completely Unscrupulous!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We called for an estimate of moving costs because they advertised that they specialized in helping seniors move. We were talked through several documents which included a contract they asked us to sign while we were on the phone with them.

They sounded so nice! Guess that should have been the first red flag. They immediately took a "deposit" of $4330. from my bank account.

We fully intended to complete the move that we signed up for although no date had been set. Two weeks later my husband had a heart attack. ( He is 80 years old.) He was advised by his doctors to not try and make a move across the country. When I called and explained the situation to them, they gave a pat response..."sorry...you signed a contract and had 72 hours to cancel.

How was I supposed to know that was going to happen? They say even though they will not refund the money - the contract is still good for a year. That does not help us at all. We are now having to move to Idaho (a state they do not serve) and locate near a rehab.

hospital.

I don't think a move to Florida is in our future for the next year. This is ridiculous and cruel.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I contacted New Leaf Moving in Boynton Beach, Florida when I needed to move from South Carolina to North Carolina to start a new job. I was given a quote of $2400.

I was allowed to put the deposit of $1400 on my credit card, and then I was told that I would pay the remainder in two certified checks, one on pickup, one on delivery.

They would not load without another certified check for $1700 and then a 2nd check for $1k to deliver. They threatened to take my stuff if I did not pay these extra amounts.
