I’m pissed off

2 years and still waiting for house to be built. We are a military family that is displaced and paying expensive storage fees for a 4 bedroom house. Tina, our rep and Alvaro as contractor are very unprofessional and does not provide any answers

Why doesn't New Leaf honor their warranty?

New Leaf homes have been blowing us off for well over a year on getting our warranty repairs taken care of. Structure warranty company also not helpful, had to pay out of pocket for foundation stabilization ($15k). New leaf won't even come to fix the broken tiles from the house dropping over 2 inches across the width of the house in just 2 years.

Owner of a new leaf home

I'm not surprised to read all the negative reviews about New Leaf Homes. It's been 10 years since I've lived in my New Leaf Home and during those years I've place multiple warranty requests.

They took a long time resolving the issues from day 1. Some of the issues were NEVER resolved by New Leaf!

I, like many, have gone through/going through runarounds by New Leaf!

IMO, New Leaf has no integrity and reading all the complaints and how people have been treated tells me they have not changed! Amazing how New Leaf Homes continues to do business!

I'm in the process of a new build and I already am feeling uncomfortable with NewLeaf. 1st the is no direct number to call you have to call a sales office location where there building to get message thru.

They do not make you feel secure in this ordeal. I see the construction process is dragging out.

I have built custom before and have worked builder trades for many years. I'm holding my breath and praying it all comes right.

Terrible customer service

I’ve been trying to get a home of someone from this company for months. I’m in a part of a neighborhood that has a bunch of new leaf homes going up.

This company has no handle on the workers contracted and I’m sick and tired of dealing with them and not getting any sort of answer from their manger or the builder. There’s piles of trash and beer bottles everywhere, when they’re done with their lunches they throw their trash on the ground in my yard, when they are done with their supplies they throw them over the fence into my yard, and they are stealing water from us because the builder is clearly too cheap to supply them with what they need to get the job done. I’ve been living here for 5 months, and one month my entire family was gone and my water bill was still almost just as high as the months I had been home. How can this be?

Because the workers walk over to my house and steal the water. This isn’t pure speculation. I literally walked outside of my house to leave and caught one of the workers at my spigot getting water. When confronted he said he thought the home was empty.

Ha! Yes the home is “empty”...somehow this “empty” home has three cars and a trailer in the driveway, somehow this “empty” home has people coming in and out of it all day long, somehow this “empty” has my dogs running around it all the time, and somehow this “empty” home has trash cans that we pay to have that the worker had to move out of his way to get to my water supply. This is completely ridiculous and the worst building company I’ve ever had to deal with since they never get back to you to try and fix the problem.

I have a picture of the worker and I have the name and number of their manager who is completely useless. But I want something done because I’m not paying for NewLeafs contracted workers to having the supplies they need to build their lousy homes.

We bought a New Leaf Home to In San Marcos Tx and We have the same Issues the builder will not come fix what needs to be fixed when he said he would! The house next-door is being built Im constantly picking up their garbage and beer cans that they throw in the front yard then it blows to our yard One day one of the workers had our whole front of our home blocked with his truck and equipment asked him three times to move it finally he did after we found nails and screws all in front of our home from his Truck.

I completely agree with this resident. I have complained and complained and it is useless as they never respond to texts or emails.

Every single day I have to go pick up water bottles, trash from their lunches, and soda cans from my yard. They have NO NETS to block their debris from ALL the construction going on. I have lived here 8 months and I still have repairs and items that need to be replaced or repaired.

They call you on a daily basis when you go to buy your home but after you get your keys. Good luck with getting a response.

I feel your pain. I’m next to one of their homes being built.

EVERY day I pick up food wrappers/plastic bottles from front/back yard. They have the ridiculous orange netting as a divider. A joke. It hasn’t been in place for months, side of our yard is a mud pit.

Music BLARING at the job site. Knocked over a wheelbarrow filled with heavy wood and just left it. Pieces of wood from a fence left all over side of our house. We’ve had to contact the PM for issues a 5 year old would know not to do.

I don’t know about the company owners or sales, but the workers are appalling, left with what appears to be no supervision. For anyone having one of these homes built next to you, my advice is to live elsewhere for 1/2 year and be prepared for clean up upon your return.

Nothing should surprise what New Leaf doesn't do. I've had the same problems The owner has a mindset, all I have to say is research the owner of New Leaf.

His lack of professionalism and integrity is cultural. That's all I'll say research the owner background.

*** Poor All Around

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

After being rushed to the design center it went down hill from there. Our home was promised to be completed in Nov of 2017.

We signed our contract in May of 2017. Paperwork showed that the construction was to start in July of 2017. Our lot sat bare for months. Nothing started until the very end of August 2017.

4 other homes were built on our street and families moved in...yet our home and lot were purchased first. It seems as if once they got money from us we were placed on the back burner. They couldn't even construct out home properly! They put a closet in our study & screwed up the stone/brick placement.

After notifying the builder and providing pictures and requesting a phone call, we got a text saying "I'll look into it tomorrow". Almost a week later and we haven't received a call back in regards to that or an apology. They have since pushed our completion date to Jan 2018. My husband is deploying & won't even be able to see his home because this company has failed to build our home as they promised.

And our 7k we lost dealing with these folks... nothing but a joke with them. We have countless photos and screenshots of lies told to us within emails and text messages. We had our inspector reveal some pretty shoddy findings to us and there really isn't an excuse for it other than cheap labor & unprofessional/*** poor practices.

We ended our contract & guess what...they have like 2 families working on that home trying to finish it. Magically that home is a concern now. Nope. We want our 7k back.

This review is only the beginning. We have video footage, photographs & a slew of correspondence revealing this company's horrible business practices. Yes we have contacted their "corporate office" that doesn't exist. Yes we have asked for higher ups who's last names they seem to "not know".

Like I said earlier..this is only the beginning of complete exposure of New Leaf. Meeting with lawyer shortly.

Hello, my house has the same issues too with the foundation and cracks. Can someone help me to show me how to contact them.

They try ignored these issues. Thank you

Shan Bby

Wondering if you ever got it resolved with them. They just served up this word documenting wanting more money to finish the house we had under contract for over 15 months. Were you successful in sueing them?

New Leaf Homes - Customer Care Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Actively involved in assisting daughter in search of a new home purchase. We were on-site and personally inter-acted with New Leaf home representatives.

What a pathetic experience! Conflicting information and details. Mixed and matched amenities with one style home versus another style/elevation. Our most desired home was within "The Enclave", a gated area.

Fast and loose with costs, such as one rep saying you will pay a $15,000 lot premium, another saying no you won't.

Had difficulty getting the earnest money ($2,000) back, as have other potential buyers as we have read, including mysteriously losing the check. Worst experience ever!!!!

Resolved: New Leaf Home Buyers - San Antonio - BEWARE!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We closed on our house December of 2015, so we are going on about 7.5 months now. Since our closing we have already had a full tub demo and replacement, windows replaced because they fall off the tracks, back door sticking and damaging our door jamb, chipping wood floors, cabinets repaired, baseboards coming off, and now the front of our house is crumbling to pieces.

We have had multiple repairs to only need a repair for the repair. We had a community meeting with the owner and come to find out he doesn't care about the problems and he is mad that we are complaining about our problems. In addition, the so-called warranty they give you does not cover everything (such as the crumbling of our front pillars). We have to pay a deductible for claims (even if we haven't hit our 1-year craftsmanship warranty) and even then you aren't guaranteed a repair.

The owner hires poor contractors who can't keep appointments and are no-shows and when they do show, their repair is ***! Please rethink your purchase with New Leaf - the product looks enticing (that's how we got tricked into buying) but the workmanship/craftsmanship is poor!
