Avoid National Storage Price Gouging and Terrible Customer Service

Ive been a long-term customer at National Storage Jandakot, but their recent treatment has been appalling. Over the past 12 months, my rental rate has gone from $293 to $466 (plus GST $512 a month) despite barely accessing the unit.

New customers are paying less for the same unit size, yet when I raised this, head office just gave me a vague excuse about market conditions and refused to do anything about it.

They provide false information, I was told no similar units were available, but when I checked, there were cheaper larger units on-site with the same access . To prove the point, I rented a larger unit under my business name at a much cheaper rate, but when I asked for the same rate for my personal unit, they refused.

Their focus is clearly on ripping off loyal customers, not providing good service. After this experience, Ill never rent from them again and strongly recommend you look elsewhere.

Beware of their dishonest practices and excessive price hikes. Plenty of better options are out there.

My experience was extremely soul-destroying and beyond disappointing. They have a massive staff turnover, with a different person sitting at the front desk every couple of months.

It took National Storage 11 months to send photo evidence to the insurer after a break-in at my storage unit. I wouldn't recommend National Storage to my worst enemy.

Storage fees increased three times in little over 12 months.

Double charged my unit right before Xmas and refused to contact me back - no way to communicate with head office - until 5 weeks later a short email received stating they could not issue a refund. So pathetic. I strongly encourage you to avoid for your sanity.

Hi I hired a unit at Lawson I made partial payment. Before start of new month or around I vacated before midnight I notified your office and called online everyone said it’s ok as long as I was out by midnight which I did .

Now I get sent a bill for $620. I thought was all sorted. couple things I am disabled I have enough trouble paying medical expenses.

If you force me to pay for a unit which I vacated I will have to refuse as I paid partial payment and was out before midnight . I can’t afford to pay $620 I think it’s very unfair you force me to pay for a unit I was not in and was left empty why are you force me to pay for a unit that was probably filled the next day so you want me to pay a month unit cost plus the person who hired the unit after me paid as well so you got 2 lots of payment for 1 unit I am sorry if I sound angry I am as everyone said it’s sorted but now I’m getting bill for $620
