Not handling the insured

Got in an accident Wednesday and the only thing my insurance company did was call a tow truck.I still cannot get my insurance company to take care of my car..They have done everything in there power to default on fixing my car.I have to pay out of my pocket everything.Its sad.This insurance company charges you an arm and a leg and still finds ways not to cover there clients.

Rejected Claim/Customer Complaint

Worse customer service company I have ever dealt with. Would not recommend them to anyone under any circumstances.

I had a claim on July 19, 2023 # 23059**** with your representative Lindsey Phillips. I had numerous calls with Lindsey and Camping World to get an answer on the claim.

It took until September 1, 2023 to get an answer to find out that she had rejected the claim because normal wear and tear. She referenced a white color roof membrane under the seal while the remainder of the roof was off color. This roof was tan from the factory, never white. Additionally Camping World and A&L RV Sales both submitted information that it appeared to be storm damage that caused the roof to peel back while traveling.

I then contacted Timothy Usrey who was processing the claim and explained what was going on. He informed me via email that the case was reopened and under review. During this time I received the letter from Lindsey rejecting the claim.
I must say that this is the worst example of customer service I have ever experienced and would not recommend your company to anyone for any purpose. I ended up removing the RV from Camping World after their quote of &12,000 to repair, and taking it to A&L in Jackson, Tn.

The repair cost me $6233.54 after they reduced their repair cost by almost $2000 upon hearing my story about National General and Camping World. (A&L knows how to provide customer service and Camping World/National General could learn l lot from them)
After being your customer since 2015, I will not be renewing my policy with you as I feel you cost me over $6000 because of lack of service.

It is apparent that you did not take into consideration the damage information from either repair facility.
It is also my plan to do negative reviews on any forum I can find as well with the Mississippi Insurance Commissioner to inform other potential customers of your horrible service.
I have waited this long to bring this to you because I had prepaid the premium until March 2024 and did not want to get cancelled and have to fight you to get a premium refund given the service I already received.
I certainly hope you folks can sleep good at night knowing what you are doing to your customers who pay for your service in good faith. Your bad reputation that I see already on forums and discussion boards is apparently well earned.

Adjuster EH thought that because I am a woman he can intimidate me. Saying that things looked suspicious and that he will need to get with his manager then an engineer and an investigator about my roof. Said the process will take 3-6 months and the tarp will be fine while they look into everything. What NG wants is for its customers to leave them alone and fix things on their own. They have obviously forgotten that there is a reason people have insurance. I will say shame on me for not looking into them before I went with them. That will never happen again!!!

I asked Vern Fonk to cancel my car insurance policy with national general and get me broad form because my car had terminal engine issues and no longer needed that insurance and the policy was due tomorrow. He got me the broad form yet did not cancel my other insurance policy. He said to call national general direct and the number he gave me directs me back to Vern fonk and they won't answer.

Handling of total loss claim

Accident over a month ago. No one returns calls. Finally got thru to supervisor n she hung up on 3 times. Asked to speak to her boss told no!! N hang up again now out of rental days and Im screwed with nothing bc they dragged their feet even to tell me they totaled. I was possibly interested in buy back no response. Still waiting to see if management will call back to make right! I think they should pay for last 30 days of rental not take from me and/or pay the next 30 days to get car! Thats y I have rental coverage!!!

I received 3 calls this morning regarding a tow job. Something about a Nissan Sentra. THIS IS A LOCKSMITH BUSINESS, WE DO NOT HAVE TOWING CAPABILITIES. THE CALLER WAS VERY RUDE. CALLED BACK TWICE AFTER BEING TOLD THAT WE DON'T DO TOWING!!

National General’s website is pitiful. They should be embarrassed in this day and age that they are putting it out there on Google for everyone to see.

I decided to log into my account on National General this morning to change my insurance for my truck from liability to full coverage. It seems everything is online now and I finally have jumped on in the deep end to keep up with technology.

National General is still standing at the edge of the pool shaking with fear and wringing their hands hoping nobody gives them a push. I had put my username and password in my phone so I wouldnt forget it and not be able to log into my account when I needed to. But, alas, one or the other was incorrect according to the website login page. I went through the steps and successfully changed my password according to the website, so I entered my username and new password and, BEEEP!BEEEEP!

Thanks for trying, maam. Either your username or password is incorrect said the website again. I Google the website to get some clarification and there it is! Your username is the email you have on file with National General.

I go back to the website and put in my email and my new password, and Holy Mother of God, either my username or password is incorrect once again. I am still relatively calm at this point, so I try calling customer service 1-800 number to try and reach tech support. The phone system doesnt even work like most of them do nowadays. You cant shut the computer down and hit 0 over and over and it says its connecting you to an operator here.

That would be too much like right, so I wait and I listen and I very quietly, under my breath, start to *** this and I wish a *** would that until finally a human being comes on the line and lets me know he is sending me to tech support and hold on just a minute. When he beeps off I am sent to a survey asking about what my opinion on their company is. Its not good. Its not good at all!

Then the line goes dead and I am listening to a dial tone and I want to reach through the phone and jerk one of the employees right through the phone line and since I dont have a gun, I imagine myself pencil whipping them. After calmly writing a review here where I didnt say anything nasty about National General, I waited and continued to check my email for the directions to get into my online account. They never came. Now I am going to talk to some other insurance companies to get some quotes.

Im walking away while I can.

I was about to rate the company but I first wanted to say that whenever I have talked to my agent on the phone I have received good service. Using the website, however, sucks. So I am kind of torn about how to rate the company.

My truck broke down and the engine seized up so I canceled my insurance with National General. This was after my rates increased because I couldn’t use the Routely App because my vehicle wouldn’t crank. Wow!

I am trying to log in to my account z online. I was using LMetcalf1961 as user name and the password I had stored in my phone and it said username or password incorrect. I clicked on forgot password and it said I had successfully changed password but it still said username or password incorrect. I went online and googled it and it said email address was yours username so I tried it and it says username or password incorrect. I dont know what else to do. I would like to be able to go online to do anything I may need to do in the future but I cannot. Will you please help me?

Dissatisfied Customer Service

My windshield on my vehicle was damaged as a result of sand and rocks that came from a dump truck that failed to cover its load on the highway. This truck entered the highway in front of me and I wound up behind it before I was able to change lanes away from the truck due to the interstate traffic.

I called my insurance (National General Insurance) and reported the incident and was instructed to take it for repair at a glass shop. I had to wait 2 days to get it repaired. Upon dropping my vehicle off at Safelite in Hampton, Virginia, I met with a clerk who had me wait for someone to come out and evaluate the damage. After losing a day at work and checking in, I waited for over an hour to get the repair done.

I left around 1:30pm. After finally getting my jeep back a while later I got a notice in the mail from National General Insurance about a week later that my rates were raised. The following year they (National General) raised my rates again prior to my policy renewal, and when I called them, the clerk stated that they went up due to all the accidents in our area. Well, this was not an accident I caused, nor did it cause any other damage to my vehicle.

National General raised my rates because other people were having accidents causing them to payout for the damages and National General raised my rates again this year to cover their losses for someone elses accidents. I have had nothing on my insurance for years and am very disappointed in National General for the way they conduct business. If you have an accident penalize those people. Do not raise the rates of your customers just because someone else is reckless and has an accident.

I should not be penalized for how others drive. I called National General and they would not budge. They said there was nothing they could do about it. The reputation of this company is unbelievable.

Those of us that do right get penalized for the mistakes and accidents of others. Raise their rates not those that follow the rules.

I will not recommend National General to anyone ever and I will be looking for a replacement Insurance company that doesnt penalize the safe drivers for the mistakes of others.

I checked the state regulations and found the following:

VIRGINIA

§ 46.2-1156. Construction, maintenance, and loading must prevent escape of contents; load covers; exemptions.

I guess state law didnt apply in this case and that National General took it upon themselves to raise my rates because of other peoples recklessness and accidents.
