National Brittany Rescue and Adoption Network - Bad experience

Hello,

This is a complaint about NBRAN, the National Brittany Adoption Network. I hope this story gives insight as to how this organization is operating and is considered when you decide how much support and effort you put into working with this organization.

I recently tried to adopt a Brittany mix through this organization.

While I imagine this organization does good things for dogs, I had a bad experience with the adoption process.

I can provide details later, but my adoption interviews seemingly went well over the phone but afterwards their summary and conclusion were grossly inaccurate and ultimately identified me as neglectful and denied me adoption. I had provided honest answers that were twisted to sound terrible. They told me that I said I leave my dog unattended outside for up to 12 hours while I work inside. I never said that.

I never work 12 hour days. Id never leave my dog unattended like that. I question if the interviewer was giving me her full attention on the phone. She seemingly cobbled responses to different questions together to make a conclusion that was completely wrong.

Further, the org. president and the ombudsperson heard my complaint and did not look into any details. Arrogance! Its as if they think this interviewers techniques were so skillful they found my deep dark weakness and are beyond question.

Nonsense! I wish I had recorded the call. What is shameful is that my numerous references were not contacted and NBRANs erroneous conclusions/intuition were not verified. Its sad people are allowed this kind of abuse of power and get in the way of a dogs best interests, now the dog remains in a kennel.

Its bad enough I lost a 5 year old Brittany to cancer this year, but now this happens. I think there are better organizations.
