DON'T Be A Vendor At Conferences Sponsored By The National Association Of Black Social Workers

WHAT A RIP OFF ORGANIZATION
The National Association of Black Social Workers is based in Washington D.C., but it travels throughout the country and has national conferences ALL DESIGNED TO TAKE MONEY FROM LOCAL BUSINESSES.
When local businesses pay to have a table at the event, they are told one thing about how they can promote their businesses at the conference. But in reality, most of the people who got to the conferences are RETIRED social workers, so if your business needs to be around PROFESSIONAL social workers and non profits you may do business with, this is not for you.
Then, the organization has a load of vendors and puts them all in a big room, while the people at the event are in another area in the hotel.
Then, they TELL you that there will be almost a thousand people at the event, but that number is more like 200-300, with most of them retirees.
It costs $660 to $1,200 to promote your business if you fall for what this organization tells you and you think this will present a real opportunity for you and your business. But the promoters of this organization will have 50 or so businesses in one place. That means only three or so people per business. You find this out ONLY AFTER you get there and NABSW already has your money. So, once you see what this organization is doing, you will soon discover that you have been fooled.
The organization then goes to the next City and does the same thing to another set of businesses owners and they will also be fooled.
Then they do the same thing the next year to other unsuspecting businesses.
They can rake in $50,000 or more in profit just doing this to vendors each year.
And this organization is supposed to be designed to promote Black families and Black people.
But most of the businesses that participate in their conferences are Black -- and when I participated in the 2015 conference they put on in Chicago, ALL of the vendors I saw were very upset on the first day, because they felt they had been TRICKED.
This is a SCAM, unless you like giving your money away and sitting in a room all day with nothing to do, because the people at the event are elsewhere else.
Also, towards the end of the day, they lock the room up where the vendors are at, so you won't be able to get any business.
The National Association of Black Social Workers already HAS your money -- so they don't care if you and your business see anyone at all.
This is supposed to be a non-profit organization. But in reality, it is all about taking money from the people they CLAIM to be helping who are usually other Blacks who are trying to operate their own businesses.
What a RIP OFF.

You should eat it up. BSW totally expect you to.
Their way of seeing things is its all about careerism and appearances. You wouldnt really expect to see a line up with them smirking and laughing and playing you on. They are saving you that torment while they play footsie somewhere else. Now some BSW are nice but at my house they are mean bossy intrusive and try to break the residents down.
We arent a nursing home this is permanent supportive housing and the staff are always trying to meddle with you and create complications.
They live their whole lives making animals out of us because they think the buck stops there. You are lucky to avoid that kind of maliciousness and malformation.
